The vivo X300 is the smaller, lighter option; the X300 Ultra is a larger, camera-focused phone with dedicated 35 mm and 85 mm camera modules and support for optional telephoto extenders. In the clearest same-market price comparison available here, China’s listed 12 GB/256 GB configurations differ by CNY 2,400. That price gap is specific to China and those configurations—not a universal retail difference.

Specifications are from vivo’s Global X300 page, China X300 Ultra page, India X300 Ultra accessory page and Singapore X300 Ultra page. Camera, battery, charger, network and package details can vary by market. Battery capacity figures are manufacturer ratings, not battery-life test results; charging wattages are listed specifications, not a guarantee of sustained charging speed.
How much more does the X300 Ultra cost?
The most direct comparison in the available official pricing is China’s listed recommended pricing for the base 12 GB/256 GB configurations: CNY 4,599 for the X300 and CNY 6,999 for the X300 Ultra. The arithmetic difference is CNY 2,400. The X300 price is listed on vivo’s China X300 product page; vivo’s China X300 Ultra page lists its price ladder and gives March 2026 as the listing date.

The Ultra’s listed China configurations are CNY 6,999 for 12 GB/256 GB, CNY 7,499 for 12 GB/512 GB, CNY 7,999 for 16 GB/512 GB, CNY 8,999 for the 16 GB/1 TB satellite-communications edition, and CNY 11,999 for the 16 GB/1 TB Photographer Kit bundle. These are China prices; do not treat the bundle price as the phone-only price or convert the base-model gap into a current price estimate for another country.

For India, vivo’s store displayed ₹83,999 for the X300 12 GB/256 GB when checked, but the comparison on that page selected a different phone—not the X300 Ultra. It therefore does not establish a like-for-like India price difference. Check the local vivo listings for the same storage tier and bundle before comparing prices. The March 31, 2026 TechRadar launch report described China pricing and availability at launch; that launch-time availability statement is not a current global availability check. Official vivo product pages for India and Singapore are now available, but regional stock and pricing are not established by those pages alone.
What is different about the cameras?
X300: triple rear cameras in a smaller phone
vivo’s Global X300 specifications list three rear cameras at 200 MP, 50 MP and 50 MP. The published specifications establish the resolutions, but do not make this a direct image-quality comparison with the Ultra or an independent camera ranking.

X300 Ultra: dedicated focal-length camera modules
vivo’s China specifications describe a 200 MP 35 mm ZEISS documentary camera, a 200 MP 85 mm ZEISS telephoto camera and a 50 MP 14 mm ZEISS ultra-wide camera. The page lists optical image stabilization across the rear cameras, autofocus, 3.7× optical zoom on the telephoto camera and video recording up to 8K. vivo India identifies Sony LYTIA 818 for the 50 MP ultra-wide, Sony LYTIA 901 for the 200 MP 35 mm camera and HP0 for the 200 MP 85 mm telephoto. These are manufacturer specifications, not independent image-quality test results. Regional camera listings differ: Singapore’s specification also lists a 5 MP camera.
Optional telephoto extenders
vivo India documents two X300 Ultra-compatible ZEISS extenders: Telephoto Extender Gen 2, advertised at 200 mm equivalent, and Gen 2 Ultra, advertised at 400 mm equivalent. The advertised focal lengths apply when the extender is attached and the Telephoto Extender switch is enabled in the camera app. These are optional accessories, not a standard feature of the phone by itself.

The India Photographer Kit is a separately purchased bundle described with a 16 GB/1 TB phone, both extenders, Imaging Grip, lens caps, adapter and mount rings, strap, case and tripod collar. Check the local bundle description rather than assuming these items are included with a phone-only purchase. Singapore also lists an Imaging Grip Kit as a separate X300 Ultra-compatible accessory with a built-in 2300 mAh battery; vivo says advanced grip features require an OTA software update. Regional availability and current firmware support should be confirmed with vivo’s local product information.

Size and screen
The X300’s 6.31-inch display and 190 g body make it the more compact option on the published figures. The China X300 Ultra specifications give it a 6.82-inch screen and a weight between 232 and 237 g, depending on finish. Its larger screen may suit readers who prefer more viewing area, while the X300’s smaller dimensions are the clearer fit for those prioritizing a lighter, more compact phone.

Processor and battery
The X300 uses MediaTek Dimensity 9500; China and India materials identify Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 for the Ultra. That shows the phones use different processor platforms, but does not establish which is faster: no comparable benchmark result is provided here. Likewise, the Ultra’s 6600 mAh typical capacity in China and Singapore is a rated capacity, not proof of longer real-world battery life. X300 capacity varies by market, including the lower 5360 mAh typical rating in Austria and Hungary.

Choose the X300 if you value compactness
- You want the smaller, lighter body: vivo lists it at 190 g and 150.57 × 71.92 mm.
- You want a triple rear camera system but do not specifically need the Ultra’s dedicated 35 mm and 85 mm modules or its compatible telephoto extenders.
Choose the X300 Ultra if the imaging system is the priority
- You want the larger 6.82-inch display.
- You value the dedicated 35 mm and 85 mm camera modules alongside an ultra-wide camera.
- You may use the optional 200 mm- or 400 mm-equivalent extender, accepting the accessory cost and the need to attach and enable it.
That is a fit based on the published specifications, not a claim that the Ultra takes better photos in every situation. Before buying either model, verify the local model number, network-band support, storage tier, warranty, included charger, price and stock. vivo’s Global X300 page says the supplied charger is omitted in Europe and supplied overseas otherwise; confirm the package for the exact market and retailer.
