Choose the vivo X300 Pro if camera reach, portraits, low-light photography and fast charging are your priorities. Its 200MP ZEISS APO telephoto, autofocus ultrawide and autofocus selfie camera make it the more photography-specialized phone. Choose the Samsung Galaxy S25 Ultra if you value Samsung’s ecosystem, wireless charging, S Pen workflows and a longer-established software-support track record more than the Vivo’s camera hardware.
The choice is not simply “better camera versus better phone.” The two flagships target different buyers, and regional variants matter: the Vivo’s battery is listed as 6,510mAh in India but was tested as 5,440mAh in Austria, while Samsung’s cited regional specification lists 5,000mAh. Check the exact model, charger bundle, warranty and local price before paying.

Camera hardware: why the Vivo is the specialist choice
vivo X300 Pro camera system
The X300 Pro is built around a camera system rather than treating the telephoto as a secondary feature. Its 200MP ZEISS APO telephoto uses a large 1/1.4-inch sensor, while the main camera is a 50MP Sony LYT-828. The 50MP ultrawide and 50MP front camera both have autofocus, which is unusual and useful: autofocus lets the ultrawide focus on close subjects instead of relying on a fixed focus distance, and it gives the selfie camera more flexibility for group shots, arm’s-length portraits and foreground detail.

Vivo also supports portrait focal lengths from 24mm through 135mm. That range lets you choose a wider environmental portrait, a more natural standard perspective or a tighter head-and-shoulders frame without standing at an awkward distance from your subject. The focal-length options do not guarantee identical rendering across every setting, but they give a portrait photographer more control than a single fixed perspective.
Samsung Galaxy S25 Ultra camera system
Samsung takes a broader, more familiar multi-camera approach. The Galaxy S25 Ultra has a 200MP main camera, a 12MP ultrawide, a 10MP 3x telephoto and a 50MP 5x telephoto. The two dedicated telephoto cameras provide native optical perspectives at common portrait and medium-telephoto distances, so you can move between 3x and 5x without asking one lens to cover every zoom step.
The Samsung arrangement is practical for people who regularly photograph people, documents and everyday scenes at moderate distances. Its 200MP main camera also gives the phone a high-resolution primary sensor for daylight detail. The Vivo’s advantage is more specific: its very large, high-resolution telephoto sensor is designed to make distant subjects the centrepiece of the system.

Zoom, portraits and distant subjects
Where the Vivo has the edge
Wildlife, concerts, sports and candid portraits are the clearest reasons to choose the X300 Pro. A large 200MP telephoto sensor can capture more source detail before computational cropping, and the APO design is intended to control color fringing in high-contrast scenes. In Android Central’s review, the telephoto produced detailed 10x images and usable 30x images. Those are reviewer observations from a phone review, not controlled laboratory measurements, but they indicate why the Vivo appeals to enthusiasts who routinely shoot beyond normal portrait distance.
Vivo also offers a telephoto extender accessory. Android Central described it as a meaningful differentiator for enthusiasts. It is most relevant if you already own or plan to carry a dedicated camera-style accessory and want even more reach; it adds bulk and cost, so casual users should not treat it as a reason by itself to buy the phone.
Where Samsung’s two telephotos help
The S25 Ultra’s 3x and 5x cameras give it two native optical checkpoints. A 3x lens is convenient for tighter portraits and nearby details, while 5x works well for distant faces, signs and stage subjects that would look too small at 1x. Having separate modules can also reduce the need to crop heavily at those particular magnifications.
Do not confuse the presence of a 5x telephoto with a guarantee that every higher zoom setting will remain optical. At magnifications beyond the native lenses, both phones rely on a mixture of sensor cropping and computational processing. The final result depends on light, subject movement, focus accuracy and the phone’s image processing.
Do these 3 things before closing this tab:
1Clear out junk files and repair common Windows errors2Fix the driver behind crashes, sound loss and screen glitches3Repair Windows errors before they cause bigger problemsPortrait choice
For portraits, the Vivo gives you a wider stated focal-length menu, autofocus on the front camera and the large 200MP telephoto. It is the more flexible choice if you deliberately compose portraits at different distances. Samsung’s 3x and 5x pair is easier to understand and quick to switch between, especially for users who want a conventional portrait workflow without learning a longer list of focal-length options.
Low-light photography and camera consistency
Android Central’s reviewer Apoorva Bhardwaj wrote, “I used the phone for just over ten days, and this is the best all-round camera available today.” The same review called the X300 Pro particularly strong in low light and described its telephoto as “fantastic this year.” These are individual reviewer judgments rather than laboratory scores, but they align with the hardware: a large telephoto sensor can gather more light than a small zoom module, and autofocus on the ultrawide and selfie cameras helps keep secondary cameras usable in varied scenes.
Samsung’s advantage is consistency across a well-established four-camera layout. You get a high-resolution main camera, an ultrawide and two dedicated zoom levels. If your photos are mostly daylight travel scenes, family pictures and occasional zoom shots, that coverage may be more useful than a specialist telephoto. If night portraits, distant subjects or low-light zoom are central to your photography, the Vivo’s hardware gives it the stronger starting position.
Neither specification sheet can predict every photo. Moving subjects, reflective surfaces, mixed lighting and skin tones can expose differences that megapixel counts do not show. Consider the Vivo’s low-light reputation a supported reviewer observation, not a promise that every night scene will beat the Samsung.

Android Central reports that the X300 Pro can record 4K video at 120 frames per second with Dolby Vision. That combination is aimed at creators who want high-frame-rate footage for slow motion and a wider dynamic range workflow compatible with Dolby Vision displays and editing tools. A 120fps mode can consume more storage and may have different exposure or crop behavior from standard frame-rate modes, so check the in-camera options for the exact resolution and lens combinations you intend to use.
The cited material does not establish equivalent video specifications for the Galaxy S25 Ultra. If video is your deciding factor, verify the Samsung model’s supported frame rates, HDR format, stabilization behavior and whether all cameras can record at your preferred settings in your region. On the evidence available here, the Vivo has the clearer headline video advantage because its 4K120 Dolby Vision capability is specifically reported.
Displays and everyday handling
Vivo display
The X300 Pro has a 6.78-inch 120Hz LTPO AMOLED display with a 2,800 × 1,260 resolution. LTPO technology allows a display to vary its refresh rate rather than running at its maximum continuously, which can help balance smooth scrolling and power use. The 120Hz mode is useful for scrolling through photo libraries, framing shots and navigating the camera interface.

Samsung display
The Galaxy S25 Ultra has a slightly larger 6.8-inch display. The cited Samsung regional specification confirms the size but does not establish its resolution or refresh-rate details here, so those should be checked on the exact local product page. The difference between 6.78 and 6.8 inches is too small to drive a buying decision by itself. Choose based on the camera system, charging, software and accessories unless your retailer confirms a display specification that matters to you.

A case can add further width and weight, which matters if you plan to use a telephoto extender or carry the phone during long photo walks.
Battery capacity, charging and regional variants
Why the Vivo battery numbers differ
Vivo’s India product specification lists a 6,510mAh battery and 90W FlashCharge. However, Android Central tested an Austrian model with a 5,440mAh battery and reported that it lasted a day but not two days. These are different regional hardware specifications, not a contradiction. You must check the capacity printed for the country and model number you are buying.
The 90W charging system also supports 50W USB-PD. That compatibility is useful if you already own a suitable USB-PD charger, but the maximum speed depends on the charger, cable, phone settings and region. Some European packages omit a charger, so confirm whether the box includes one before assuming you can use the advertised FlashCharge speed immediately.
Samsung battery and wireless charging
Samsung’s Philippines product specification lists a 5,000mAh battery and confirms wireless charging. The cited material does not provide a comparable wired charging figure. Wireless charging is convenient on a desk, bedside stand or vehicle mount, and it can be more important than raw capacity if you already use Samsung-compatible accessories.
On capacity alone, the India-specification Vivo is substantially larger than the cited Samsung battery. That advantage narrows or disappears in regions where the Vivo uses the 5,440mAh configuration. Battery life also depends on display brightness, camera use, mobile signal, gaming and temperature. Treat capacity as a useful clue, not a guaranteed number of hours.

Vivo’s OriginOS approach
The X300 Pro runs OriginOS 6 based on Android 16. Android Central reports that Vivo guarantees four Android OS-update years and considers that behind Samsung and Google’s support position. The guarantee is the figure established for Vivo in the cited material; it does not automatically describe security-update timing, regional exceptions or every component of the support policy, so read the local warranty and update terms.
OriginOS can be a good fit if you want the Vivo camera experience and are comfortable with its interface, bundled apps and regional services. Before switching from another Android brand, check that your preferred payment, banking, wearable and vehicle apps are supported in your country and that your accessories integrate as expected.
Samsung’s long-support and accessory case
Samsung has the safer choice for buyers who prioritize an established ecosystem and a longer support track record. The exact current promise should be verified on Samsung’s regional product page rather than inferred from another country’s policy. Samsung’s ecosystem also includes accessories and services that may already be part of your routine.
The Galaxy S25 Ultra supports S Pen workflows, making it useful for handwritten notes, annotations, remote camera control or precise editing if those functions fit your habits. Samsung’s cited page also confirms eSIM support. These conveniences can outweigh a camera advantage if your phone is a work tool rather than primarily a camera.
Durability and convenience features
Vivo lists both IP68 and IP69 ratings for the X300 Pro, while Samsung lists IP68 for the Galaxy S25 Ultra. IP ratings describe resistance under defined test conditions; they are not permission to use either phone underwater, and liquid damage may still be excluded from warranty coverage. Rinse and dry a phone according to the manufacturer’s guidance after exposure to salt water, chlorinated water or other contaminants.
Samsung’s wireless charging and eSIM support are explicitly confirmed in the cited regional listing. Vivo’s cited advantages are the higher water-and-dust rating and camera-focused hardware. If you frequently charge on a pad, move between physical SIM and eSIM plans or use an S Pen, Samsung’s convenience features may be more valuable than the Vivo’s additional camera capability.
Prices and what to verify locally
| Listing | Published figure | How to interpret it |
|---|---|---|
| vivo X300 Pro, India | ₹119,999 | Smartprix comparison snapshot from 2026; storage, seller and promotion may affect the price |
| Samsung Galaxy S25 Ultra, India | ₹94,999 | Smartprix comparison snapshot from 2026; not a universal or permanent price |
| Samsung Galaxy S25 Ultra, Philippines | ₱84,990 starting price | Current regional Samsung listing; taxes, storage and promotions differ elsewhere |
The cited snapshots put the Vivo higher than the Samsung in that India comparison, but street prices change quickly. Compare the same storage tier and warranty status, and include the cost of a charger if the Vivo package in your region omits one. A lower price on an imported unit may also mean weaker local service, different network bands or no valid regional warranty.

Quick Recap
Which phone should you buy?
Choose the vivo X300 Pro when photography comes first
- You regularly photograph wildlife, concerts, sports, aircraft, architecture or distant details.
- You want the strongest telephoto hardware and are willing to learn a more photography-oriented camera system.
- Portrait focal lengths from 24mm to 135mm are useful to you.
- Low-light shooting and zoom quality matter more than ecosystem familiarity.
- You want a 50MP autofocus ultrawide and 50MP autofocus selfie camera.
- Your local model has the 6,510mAh battery and you value 90W charging.
- You are interested in the optional vivo X300 Pro telephoto extender.
Choose the Galaxy S25 Ultra when the phone must fit an ecosystem
- You already use Samsung services, accessories or a Galaxy-focused workflow.
- You want S Pen functions for notes, markup or camera control.
- Wireless charging and eSIM are daily conveniences rather than occasional extras.
- You prefer Samsung’s longer-established support track record and will verify the current regional policy.
- You want two dedicated telephoto cameras at 3x and 5x for straightforward optical switching.
- The Samsung is meaningfully cheaper in your market after matching storage, warranty and included accessories.
A practical decision framework
- Mark your most common camera distance. If most subjects are within normal walking distance, either phone can cover everyday photography. If distant subjects dominate, give the Vivo’s 200MP telephoto priority.
- Decide whether accessories matter. Select Samsung if wireless charging, eSIM or S Pen workflows are already part of your setup. Select Vivo if a telephoto extender and camera controls are more valuable.
- Check the exact regional model. Confirm battery capacity, storage, charger inclusion, network compatibility, warranty and service coverage. Do not assume the India 6,510mAh figure applies to Europe or another market.
- Compare like-for-like prices. Match storage and official warranty, then add the cost of a compatible charger or case. Treat online listing prices as snapshots, not permanent recommended prices.
- Consider how long you keep phones. Verify Samsung’s current regional support policy and compare it with Vivo’s stated four Android OS-update years. A longer support period can matter more than a small camera difference for a four- or five-year ownership cycle.
Pre-purchase checklist
- Read the model number on the retailer’s listing and confirm it is intended for your country.
- Confirm whether the battery is the regional capacity you expect: 6,510mAh is listed for India, while a 5,440mAh Austrian model was reviewed.
- Check whether a 90W charger is included; some European Vivo packages omit a charger.
- Verify storage tier and RAM. Samsung’s cited regional specification lists 12GB RAM; Vivo’s cited material does not state a RAM figure.
- Confirm wireless charging and eSIM support on the exact Samsung regional model if either feature is essential.
- Check return, repair and water-damage terms before relying on either IP rating.
- If video is important, confirm the camera modes you need on the retail firmware, including 4K120 Dolby Vision availability on the Vivo.
