The vivo X300 FE and Xiaomi Redmi Note 15 SE 5G target different priorities: the vivo is smaller and lists a higher-tier chipset plus telephoto and wide cameras, while the Redmi has a much larger display and microSD expansion. These are manufacturer specifications, not results from a head-to-head test. Which phone is smaller and easier to handle?
The X300 FE is the more compact option by a clear margin: its 6.31-inch screen and 150.83×71.76mm body are substantially narrower and shorter than the Redmi’s 6.77-inch screen and 164×75.42mm body. The surprising trade-off is weight: vivo lists its smaller phone at 191g, while Xiaomi lists the larger Redmi at 178g for black and white or 182g for Crimson.
Choose the vivo if one-handed reach and pocket-friendly dimensions matter most. Choose the Redmi if you prefer more screen area for reading, video or multitasking and are comfortable with a wider phone. Those are differences in listed size and weight, not a claim about how either feels in every hand.

How do their processors, storage and displays compare?
Chip and storage tiers
On paper, the X300 FE has the more advanced platform: Snapdragon 8 Gen 5 with LPDDR5X Ultra memory and UFS 4.1 storage, against the Redmi’s Snapdragon 6 Gen 3, LPDDR4X memory and UFS 2.2 storage. These specifications indicate different hardware tiers, but they do not tell you how much faster one feels in a particular app or game. No independent comparative benchmark is established here.
The Redmi offers a practical storage distinction: its listed configurations include microSD expansion up to 1TB, subject to compatibility. vivo’s listed X300 FE configurations rely on internal storage. Check the exact regional variant before buying, especially because the vivo specifications page and store show different 12GB+ storage combinations.
Screen size and brightness figures
The Redmi gives you a larger, curved 6.77-inch AMOLED panel; the vivo uses a smaller 6.31-inch AMOLED panel with a higher listed resolution. Both manufacturers list refresh rates up to 120Hz. vivo states a local peak of 5000 nits and Xiaomi a peak of 3200 nits, but peak figures from different manufacturers are not necessarily measured on the same basis, so they do not establish a controlled brightness winner.
Are the cameras equivalent?
No. Their rear camera arrangements are notably different. vivo lists a stabilized main camera, a stabilized telephoto camera and a wide camera. Xiaomi lists a 50MP main camera and a 2MP depth camera. That makes the vivo’s listed lens selection more versatile on paper, particularly if you want a dedicated telephoto option; it does not prove that its photos are better in every scene.
For selfies, vivo lists a 50MP autofocus front camera and Xiaomi a 20MP front camera. vivo lists 8K, 4K and 1080p video recording, while Xiaomi lists rear 4K recording at 30fps. Which has the bigger battery, and which charges faster?
vivo lists a 6500mAh typical battery, with a 6350mAh rated minimum, and 90W FlashCharge. The maximum supported charging rate requires vivo’s original charger and cable. Xiaomi lists a 5800mAh typical battery and 45W Turbo Charging, and says a charger is included in the box.

The capacity and charging figures favor the vivo on paper, but they do not establish which phone lasts longer between charges. How much do they cost in India?
There is no reliable current price difference to calculate from the official information reviewed. vivo’s launch prices and a later store listing do not match, while Xiaomi’s reviewed product and specification pages do not provide a verified live purchase price.

For a fair comparison, check the same day’s listings for matching storage configurations and compare the final payable amounts after any bank or exchange conditions. Which one should you choose?
Choose the vivo X300 FE if
- You want a compact phone rather than a large-screen device.
- You prioritize the higher-tier chipset and memory and storage specifications listed by vivo.
- You want dedicated telephoto and wide rear cameras in addition to a main camera.
- You value the larger stated battery capacity and higher stated charging rate, while recognizing that these figures do not prove real-world runtime.
Choose the Xiaomi Redmi Note 15 SE 5G if
- You want a substantially larger display.
- You want the option of microSD storage expansion, subject to compatibility.
- You prefer to evaluate a phone positioned in a lower hardware tier, but want to confirm its current price from a retailer before deciding.
Both manufacturers publish long software-support commitments, but they differ: vivo states five years of OS upgrades and seven years of security updates; Xiaomi states four years of OS updates and six years of security patches. Treat these as manufacturer commitments rather than independently verified update histories.
Is the vivo telephoto extender included?
No. vivo said its ZEISS Telephoto Extender Gen 2 was sold separately, priced at ₹15,999 at launch, and compatible only with the X300 FE.
