The Vivo V80 8GB+512GB is an India-market phone built around portrait photography and generous storage, but its INR 79,999 launch price places it firmly in premium territory rather than the mid-range. Vivo’s published specifications promise a 50MP OIS main camera, a 50MP OIS telephoto camera and a 50MP autofocus selfie camera; TechPP’s review is positive about the cameras and build, while warning that the ultrawide and performance for demanding users are weaker points. This is an evidence-based overview, not a hands-on test: battery endurance, charging time, thermal behavior and camera results in specific conditions have not been independently measured here.
India price, configuration and availability
Vivo India lists the V80 in 8GB RAM configurations with 128GB, 256GB or 512GB storage, and identifies the shop variants as 5G models. The 8GB+512GB version launched in India at INR 79,999, inclusive of taxes. Vivo announced availability from October 13, 2026, through partner retail stores, its official website, Flipkart and Amazon.in. These are India-specific launch details and may change over time.
The 512GB figure is the advertised storage capacity; the space available for personal files will be lower because the operating system and preinstalled apps use some of it. The high-capacity option is most relevant to people who keep large photo and video libraries on their phone, but it does not by itself make the phone faster.

Vivo’s specification lists a 50MP main camera with optical image stabilization (OIS) and a Sony LYTIA 700V sensor, a 50MP OIS telephoto camera with a Sony IMX882 sensor, an 8MP ultrawide camera and a 50MP autofocus front camera. The telephoto hardware gives the portrait-oriented pitch a practical foundation: it offers a dedicated camera for tighter framing rather than relying only on cropping the main camera’s image.

Vivo advertises portrait focal lengths of 23mm, 35mm, 50mm, 85mm and 100mm, along with 3x optical zoom, portrait and night modes, 4K video and AI creative tools. These are manufacturer-described features, not independent measurements of image quality or proof that each option performs equally well across lighting, subjects or motion.
How the camera evidence reads
TechPP’s review, updated October 8, 2026, describes the cameras favorably overall, but says the ultrawide needs improvement. That distinction matters: the 8MP ultrawide is the least impressive-looking part of the published camera specification on paper, and the reviewer’s criticism suggests buyers should not assume every rear camera matches the main and telephoto cameras. The available evidence does not establish controlled comparisons or portrait consistency across different scenes.

Everyday speed, storage and demanding workloads
Vivo specifies a Snapdragon 7 Gen 4 processor, LPDDR4X RAM and UFS 3.1 storage. TechPP characterizes performance as suitable for everyday use rather than for performance seekers, and notes that the V80 uses slower memory and storage types than the V70. That is a reviewer’s assessment, not a benchmark result presented here; the sources do not establish a controlled performance comparison or quantify how the difference affects particular apps.

For typical use—messaging, browsing, streaming and routine photography—the review’s assessment is broadly reassuring. Buyers who prioritize sustained demanding workloads or top-end responsiveness should treat that assessment as a caution and seek testing that matches their own apps and usage, rather than assuming the 512GB capacity signals flagship-level speed.

Display, battery and charging specifications
The manufacturer lists a 6.59-inch 1.5K AMOLED display with a refresh rate of up to 144Hz, OriginOS 7 and a typical battery capacity of 7200mAh (7015mAh rated). Vivo notes that 144Hz is supported only in selected applications. The stated 90W maximum charging power applies when using Vivo’s specified charger and cable.
These are specifications, not measured outcomes. No verified test here establishes how long the battery lasts in real use, how quickly it charges from a particular starting level, or how consistently the display reaches its maximum refresh rate. Vivo lists a phone case and USB power adapter among the box contents.

Who should consider the 512GB V80?
- Portrait-focused phone photographers: The OIS main and telephoto cameras, advertised portrait modes and multiple portrait focal lengths make the V80’s camera proposition the clearest reason to consider it. The review’s positive overall camera assessment is encouraging, though it is not a substitute for results in your own shooting conditions.
- People who need substantial built-in storage: The 512GB configuration offers more room for locally stored media than the listed 128GB and 256GB variants, at the cost of a high launch price.
- Buyers who rely heavily on ultrawide shots: TechPP specifically flags the ultrawide as needing improvement, so this is a point to investigate before buying.
- Performance-focused buyers: The reviewer’s everyday-use qualification makes the V80 a less certain choice for people whose priority is demanding workloads.
- Value-conscious buyers: At INR 79,999 at India launch, the V80’s camera and storage proposition must justify a substantial outlay; the available sources do not establish that it outranks all current alternatives.
What this review can—and cannot—establish
The published specifications support a clear picture of the configuration and advertised features, while TechPP supplies an independent, dated assessment of build, cameras and performance positioning. Neither provides a basis here for claiming firsthand test results for battery life, portrait quality in particular conditions, charging duration, thermal behavior or comparative ranking against every current rival. Treat those questions as open until you consult testing that measures the conditions important to you.
