The vivo T4 Pro is the better fit if you want a larger battery, faster rated charging and a 3× optical periscope camera; the vivo V40 makes more sense for a higher-resolution display, an ultra-wide rear camera and a higher-resolution autofocus selfie camera. In vivo India Store snapshots accessed on October 8, 2026, the 8GB+256GB V40 was listed at ₹42,999 and the same-storage T4 Pro at ₹29,999—a ₹13,000 difference. Prices and stock can change.

Specifications are from vivo’s V40 specifications and vivo’s T4 Pro specifications. The two brightness figures use different labels—local peak brightness and HBM—so they should not be treated as directly comparable measurements. Likewise, a newer listed processor generation does not by itself establish a particular real-world speed advantage.
Which phone is better for your cameras?
Choose the V40 for ultra-wide photos and selfies
The V40’s rear camera setup includes a dedicated 50MP ultra-wide camera, useful when you want to fit more of a landscape, room or group into the frame. Its front camera is listed at 50MP with autofocus and a 92-degree field of view. The T4 Pro does not list a rear ultra-wide camera, and its front camera is 32MP with a 72-degree field of view. These specifications describe resolution and coverage, not a guarantee that one phone produces better-looking photos overall.

Choose the T4 Pro for optical zoom
The T4 Pro has a 50MP periscope telephoto camera with 3× optical zoom. That gives it a dedicated option for framing distant subjects more tightly, while the V40’s listed rear cameras are a main and an ultra-wide. If you regularly photograph subjects that are far away, the T4 Pro’s camera arrangement is the more relevant fit; if you need a wider field of view, the V40 has the more suitable dedicated lens.

How do the displays differ?
Both phones have AMOLED displays with a 120Hz refresh rate and nearly the same diagonal size. The V40’s listed resolution is 2800 × 1260, compared with 2392 × 1080 on the T4 Pro, so it has the sharper specification on paper. vivo lists 4500 nits local peak brightness for the V40 and 1500 nits HBM for the T4 Pro. Because these brightness labels describe different measures, those numbers do not establish which screen is brighter in a like-for-like test.
Battery, charging and design
The T4 Pro is rated for a 6500mAh battery and 90W charging; the V40 is rated for 5500mAh and 80W. Those figures make the T4 Pro the stronger specification choice if capacity and rated charging power are priorities, but they are not measured battery-life or charging-time results. Actual endurance depends on use and settings.

The V40 weighs 190g and has a glass back; the T4 Pro weighs 192g and uses a plastic-composite back. The difference in listed weight is small, so the material is likely the more useful distinction if back finish matters to you.
Processor, software and update support
The T4 Pro lists a Snapdragon 7 Gen 4 and Android 15 with Funtouch OS 15, while the V40 lists a Snapdragon 7 Gen 3 and Android 14 with Funtouch OS 14. This makes the T4 Pro the newer listed platform and software version, but the specifications alone do not show how much faster it will feel in everyday use.

vivo India’s T4 Pro store listing states four years of Android OS updates and six years of security updates. The retrieved V40 specification page does not state an update-duration commitment; that absence is not evidence that the V40 receives no updates.

For the like-for-like 8GB+256GB configurations, the V40 was ₹13,000 more than the T4 Pro in that snapshot. Check the V40 product page and T4 Pro product page for current listings, prices and stock before buying. A different storage configuration is not an equivalent price comparison.
