The vivo T4R is the better fit if you want a slightly larger display, a higher-resolution selfie camera and an explicitly listed IP68/IP69 rating. Samsung’s Galaxy M47 5G stands out for its larger stated battery, additional rear cameras and longer published software-support commitment. The M47 appeared later and was listed at a higher price in the comparison snapshots available, but those prices conflict and should not be treated as current checkout quotes.
This is an India-market comparison: the T4R launched in 2025, while Samsung India lists the M47 5G with a 29 June 2026 launch date. Specifications and prices below are based on India-specific product and comparison listings, not claims about global availability.
How the vivo T4R and Galaxy M47 5G compare
The core differences are screen size, camera configuration, battery capacity, water-resistance disclosure and software support. The figures below are manufacturer specifications unless the source is identified otherwise.

Price difference: the Samsung was listed higher, but check live offers
The available price snapshots do not establish a reliable current price gap. The vivo India store showed ₹22,999 for the T4R 8 GB/128 GB listing. 91mobiles also displayed ₹22,999 for the T4R, marked out of stock, and ₹29,473 for the Galaxy M47 5G on Amazon. A Gadgets Now comparison snapshot showed ₹22,999 and ₹30,999 respectively and carried a September 2026 update context.
These are snapshots, not guaranteed prices at checkout; the Samsung figures differ between comparison sources, and seller, offers, availability and storage configuration can affect what you pay. Compare live listings for equivalent storage variants before treating the M47 as a particular amount more expensive.

Which phone has the better display?
The T4R’s listed display is 0.11 inches larger diagonally: 6.77 inches versus the M47’s 6.66-inch-class panel. Both are AMOLED-family displays with 120 Hz refresh rates. Their listed resolutions are close, with the T4R at 2392 × 1080 and the M47 at 2340 × 1080. Those figures describe size, resolution and refresh rate; they do not by themselves establish which screen looks better in everyday use.

Camera differences: selfie resolution versus rear-camera variety
The T4R has a 32 MP front camera, compared with the M47’s 12 MP front camera. If selfie-camera resolution is a priority, vivo lists the higher number. Megapixels alone do not determine detail, color, low-light results or overall image quality.
On the back, the T4R pairs a 50 MP Sony camera with OIS and a 2 MP bokeh camera. Samsung lists a 50 MP main camera with OIS alongside 5 MP and 2 MP secondary cameras. That gives the M47 more listed rear-camera modules, but the specifications do not establish that its photos are better or explain the practical results of each secondary camera.

Battery capacity and charging
Samsung lists a 6000 mAh typical battery and 45 W charging for the M47; vivo lists a 5700 mAh typical battery and 44 W for the T4R. These nominal capacities and charging ratings are close, and they are not a controlled comparison of battery life or charging time. Samsung also advertises up to 28 hours of video playback for the M47; that manufacturer figure should not be treated as a directly comparable independent endurance test.

Water resistance and durability
vivo explicitly lists IP68 and IP69 protection for the T4R. Samsung’s M47 product page names Gorilla Glass Victus+ and describes water and dust resistance, but the details reviewed do not state an IP rating. That means the available Samsung specification does not support assigning the M47 an IP code or making a code-to-code rating comparison.
Software support: Samsung publishes the longer commitment
vivo says it guarantees two years of OS upgrades and up to three years of security updates for the T4R. “Up to” is important: vivo does not phrase the security period as a guaranteed three full years.
Samsung says the M47 receives six generations of OS upgrades and six years of security updates from its first global launch. Its product details give a security-update period through 31 July 2032, and Samsung notes that its policy may change. The stated period makes Samsung’s published support commitment longer, although it is not a guarantee that either phone will suit every buyer’s software needs throughout ownership.

Choose the vivo T4R if
- You value a slightly larger listed display.
- You prefer the higher-resolution 32 MP front-camera specification.
- You want an explicitly stated IP68/IP69 rating.
- You can find the storage configuration you want at a favorable live price.
Choose the Samsung Galaxy M47 5G if
- You prefer the larger stated battery capacity and slightly higher charging rating.
- You want three listed rear-camera modules rather than two.
- A longer published OS and security-update commitment is important to you.
- You want the listed 8 GB/256 GB configuration and MicroSD expansion up to 2 TB through its hybrid SIM slot.
Neither specifications nor the available comparison listings establish a winner for real-world speed, gaming, camera quality or battery endurance. Make the choice around the features and support terms you value, then check current stock and matching-variant prices.
