Vitalize, a business-to-business healthcare operations software company, raised a $31 million Series A led by Oak HC/FT, according to an announcement dated October 6, 2026. The platform is designed to help health systems coordinate staffing, scheduling, patient flow, and capacity. Oak HC/FT named Norwest, Y Combinator, .406 Ventures, Rock Health Capital, Constellation Ventures, and MemorialCare Innovation Fund as participants in the round.
What Vitalize does
Vitalize sells software for hospital operations rather than a consumer-facing product. Oak HC/FT describes a platform that brings staffing, scheduling, patient flow, and capacity information together to help health systems plan coverage by unit and shift. Y Combinator’s company profile similarly says the company aims to optimize health-system staffing and scheduling, reduce labor spend, improve operational efficiency, and reduce administrative work for clinical leaders; it lists Vitalize as a Winter 2023 company.
How the platform is described
According to Oak HC/FT, the platform takes in workforce-supply information such as staff skills, full-time-equivalent status, labor cost, union status, and human-resources rules. It also uses demand inputs including real-time census, patient acuity, and admission, discharge, and transfer events. Oak HC/FT says the system uses those inputs to calculate a staffing configuration for each unit and shift. Its portfolio profile calls Vitalize an “AI-native platform helping hospitals optimize labor and capacity operations” and identifies Veeraj Shah as CEO.

What the reported customer figures show—and do not show
Oak HC/FT reported that Vitalize serves nine health systems, 37 hospitals, and roughly 40,000 covered staff. Those figures describe scale as reported by the investor; they are not an independent audit of active use or outcomes.
Oak HC/FT says customers “consistently underwrite” reductions of 10–20% in premium labor spend. That is an investor-reported customer claim, not an independently validated result in the available reporting. Oak HC/FT also cited one customer that moved from contract signature to go-live in under 60 days and an early deployment that delivered more than twice its targeted savings. These are individual examples, not a guarantee of implementation speed or savings for other health systems.

Oak HC/FT estimates that premium labor costs U.S. health systems $50 billion annually. The investor’s announcement does not identify the underlying study or explain the estimate’s methodology, so the figure should be understood as Oak HC/FT’s estimate rather than an independently verified market total.

Vitalize’s pitch centers on coordinating labor supply with changing hospital demand, including census, acuity, and patient movement. The Series A provides a funding milestone for that enterprise-software business, but the announcement does not disclose valuation, a funding-use plan, or independent evidence that the reported customer savings will generalize across hospitals. Oak HC/FT partner Vig Chandramouli described the opportunity to Fierce Healthcare this way: “Labor is a nearly trillion-dollar line item for U.S. health systems, making it one of the largest and most under-penetrated software markets in healthcare.”
