Violet became the fifth player-voted hero in Deadlock’s City Never Sleeps series on October 16, 2026. Her ink-and-art kit combines steerable bullets, a brush trail that changes movement, sustained enemy sketching, and a large arena that controls vision and punishes escape. Nurse Harrow is the sixth and final scheduled unlock.
Who Violet is in Deadlock
Violet is a ranged control hero whose abilities turn ink into both weapons and terrain. She can guide projectiles after firing, create a path that helps allies slide while hindering enemies, maintain visual contact to complete a damaging sketch, and deploy a wide ink display that reshapes a fight. Her strongest sequences require preparation or sustained targeting rather than a single instant burst.
How Violet became the fifth City Never Sleeps unlock
City Never Sleeps is releasing six heroes chosen through a community vote. Violet is the fifth addition, following Rat King, Baba, Solomon and Deadman Danny. Nurse Harrow remains the final hero in the planned sequence and was scheduled for October 20, 2026, at 2 p.m. PDT (10 p.m. BST).

The winning team’s votes count double, a player’s first win of the day doubles that player’s votes, and playing matches awards hero-priority tokens. Violet’s October 16 release therefore reflects the ongoing lobby-based voting process rather than a conventional seasonal battle-pass unlock.

Violet’s abilities explained
Living Ink
Living Ink empowers Violet’s next three bullets. Each projectile can be steered in flight, deals increased bullet damage and adds splash Spirit damage. Hitting heroes also reduces her ability cooldowns and partially reduces item cooldowns. The ability rewards accurate follow-up shots: the bullets remain threatening after leaving the weapon, while hero hits accelerate her next actions.
Flow State
Violet drags a brush forward and paints a traveling trail. Allies who move along it gain increased slide distance, giving the team a temporary mobility route. Enemies on the trail are slowed and damaged. Violet can reactivate the ability to end the cast early and trigger a larger Spirit-damage burst, creating a choice between maintaining the path and cashing it out for immediate damage.

Still Life
Still Life locks Violet’s attention on a chosen enemy. While she keeps looking at the target, she sketches it and deals damage over time. Completing the sketch stuns the enemy, adds extra damage and drops a collectible sketch. Picking up that sketch grants Violet a permanent stat increase based on the hero she drew. This makes a successful, sustained target more valuable than a simple takedown: Violet can gain a lasting reward if she finishes the process and retrieves the drop.

Abstract Landscape
Abstract Landscape creates a large circular ink display. The area blocks vision, grants allied Spirit and reveals enemies inside. Enemies that leave are hit with Spirit damage, silenced and slowed. The ability can therefore serve as cover for an allied push, a detection zone around an objective or a trap that makes retreat costly.
