Short answer: Start with the exact model number, not the screen size. Roku’s current product finder identifies the Select Series FHD TV 32R3C5 and 32R3D5 as 32-inch Full HD models. TechRadar’s reviewed guide lists the LG 32LQ6300 as a 32-inch Full HD webOS television and the TCL S5400 as a 1080p Google TV alternative. These are credible candidates, not a universal ranking: stock, prices, app support and even model specifications can vary by country.

A 32-inch smart TV is not automatically 1080p. Roku’s Select Series HD range includes both 720p and 1080p sets, so confirm “1920 × 1080” or “Full HD” for the complete SKU before buying.

What counts as a 32-inch 1080p smart TV?

A qualifying set combines three things: a roughly 32-inch screen, built-in smart-TV software and a native 1920 × 1080 Full HD panel. The “smart” label describes streaming and connected features; it says nothing about resolution. Two televisions with the same diagonal measurement can use different panels, and a 720p model has fewer pixels than a true Full HD set.

Roku’s official product information is an important warning for shoppers. Its Select Series HD line includes 24-, 32- and 40-inch televisions in either 720p or 1080p, depending on the SKU. The company’s product finder specifically lists 32R3C5 and 32R3D5 as 32-inch Full HD models. Treat the full model code as part of the specification: a listing that says only “32-inch Roku TV” is incomplete.

Roku describes 1080p as offering double the pixels of HD and therefore a sharper image and color. That is manufacturer explanatory copy rather than an independent test, but the underlying distinction is practical: text, menus and close viewing generally benefit from the higher pixel count.

Model Resolution and platform What the evidence establishes Price or availability note
Roku Select Series FHD TV 32R3C5 32-inch, Full HD (1080p), Roku TV Roku’s product finder identifies this exact SKU as Full HD. The finder showed a starting price of $139.99 when checked on October 13, 2026. Recheck the current listing and your local market.
Roku Select Series FHD TV 32R3D5 32-inch, Full HD (1080p), Roku TV Roku’s product finder identifies this exact SKU as Full HD. The finder showed a starting price of $99.99 on October 13, 2026. This is a time-sensitive display price, not a guaranteed offer.
LG 32LQ6300 32-inch Full HD LED, webOS, HDR10 and HLG TechRadar’s guide names it the best 32-inch TV for most people. That is TechRadar’s editorial judgment. Confirm that this model and its regional variant are sold where you live.
TCL S5400 32-inch 1080p LCD, Google TV, HDR10 and HLG TechRadar includes it as a budget-oriented 1080p option. The source’s “best cheap” framing is UK-specific; availability differs by market.
Amazon 2-Series 32-inch 32-inch 720p, Fire TV It demonstrates that a smart 32-inch set can still be HD rather than Full HD. Do not select it when native 1080p is a requirement.

The table separates manufacturer-listed specifications from TechRadar’s editorial assessment. It does not establish a global winner or a current retailer price for every country.

Which model fits your priorities?

Best starting point when you want a Roku interface

The 32R3C5 and 32R3D5 are the clearest choices if Roku’s interface is your preference and you can verify the exact listing. Both are explicitly identified by Roku as 32-inch Full HD sets. The two model numbers should not be treated as interchangeable: check the local product page for included features, warranty terms and availability before choosing between them. Their displayed prices were different during the October 13, 2026 check, but those figures can change.

Best for shoppers following a reviewed all-round recommendation

TechRadar calls the LG 32LQ6300 its best 32-inch TV for most people. The guide lists a Full HD LED panel, webOS, HDR10 and HLG. That recommendation reflects TechRadar’s review methodology and market context; it is not an independent, worldwide ranking of every 32-inch television. Verify the exact regional suffix and current stock because model names can be reused or omitted in retailer listings.

Best budget-oriented Google TV candidate

The TCL S5400 is listed by TechRadar as a 32-inch 1080p LCD with Google TV, HDR10 and HLG. It may suit buyers who prefer Google TV’s layout or already use that ecosystem. TechRadar’s “best cheap” description is UK-specific, so do not assume the same price or availability elsewhere.

A useful non-pick: the Amazon 2-Series

The 32-inch Amazon 2-Series is smart and uses Fire TV, but TechRadar lists its panel as 720p. It is a useful counterexample when a retailer headline emphasizes screen size and streaming while omitting the resolution. It does not meet a strict Full HD requirement.

Compare the five things that actually matter

1. Native resolution

Look for “1920 × 1080,” “1080p” or “Full HD” in the manufacturer specification for the complete SKU. “HD,” “HD Ready” or simply “32-inch smart TV” is not enough. If a retailer and the manufacturer disagree, use the manufacturer’s page and ask the retailer to confirm the exact model code.

Special offer. See more information about Outbyte and uninstall instructions. Please review EULA and Privacy policy.

2. Smart-TV platform

The verified examples use Roku TV, LG webOS and Google TV; the counterexample uses Fire TV. Choose the interface you can navigate comfortably and whose apps are available in your country. The reviewed material does not provide a complete, current app-by-app compatibility matrix, and app catalogs can change by region. Check the local platform page for the streaming services you actually use rather than assuming that a service available in one country will appear in another.

3. Picture quality beyond the pixel count

Two Full HD televisions can still look different. TechRadar treats picture quality as a separate comparison category, which is the right approach: resolution is only one specification. Consider viewing distance, room brightness, reflections and the type of content you watch. A 1080p label does not establish contrast, motion handling, color accuracy or HDR performance by itself. The listed LG and TCL models include HDR10 and HLG in TechRadar’s specifications, but HDR format support should not be confused with a guarantee of a particular brightness level.

4. Sound

TechRadar scores sound separately from picture. For a bedroom, kitchen or small office, built-in speakers may be sufficient, but the evidence here does not establish a specific loudness level, speaker configuration or soundbar requirement for any model. If audio is important, read the exact manufacturer audio specification and confirm the connection options before purchase.

5. Gaming and connections

TechRadar uses gaming as a comparison category, but the reviewed passages do not establish refresh rates, input-lag measurements or port counts for these specific sets. Console buyers should check the official specification for supported refresh rates, HDMI features, game modes and input lag before making a decision. Do not infer gaming performance from “1080p” alone.

How to choose one without buying the wrong SKU

  1. Define the use case. Decide whether the TV is for streaming, a bedroom, a desk, a guest room or console gaming. This determines how much weight to give interface familiarity, viewing distance, sound and connection requirements.
  2. Write down the required resolution. Use “native 1920 × 1080 Full HD” as the requirement. If 720p is acceptable, say so explicitly; otherwise it is easy to select a cheaper but lower-resolution set.
  3. Copy the complete model number. Record every letter and digit, including suffixes. For Roku, 32R3C5 and 32R3D5 are the verified Full HD SKUs in the product finder; a different 32-inch Select Series code may have a different panel.
  4. Check the manufacturer listing first. Confirm panel resolution, smart platform, HDR formats and the region in which the page applies. Retailer titles often shorten model names.
  5. Check app availability for your country. Review the platform’s local app list and account requirements. A familiar interface is useful only if it supports your services.
  6. Verify connections for your equipment. Look up the official port list and any refresh-rate or input-lag details for a console, computer, antenna or external audio device.
  7. Compare picture and sound reviews separately. Use independent editorial categories such as TechRadar’s picture, sound, smart-menu and gaming assessments, while keeping those judgments distinct from manufacturer specifications.
  8. Recheck stock and price immediately before checkout. The Roku finder prices were snapshots from October 13, 2026, not standing recommendations. Confirm currency, seller, warranty and return policy in your region.

Platform differences in everyday use

Roku TV

Roku TV is the platform on the two verified Select Series Full HD models. It can be a sensible choice when you want Roku’s navigation and already know where its search and app controls are. The deciding factor is not the platform name alone: verify that the exact regional version carries the services you need.

LG webOS

The LG 32LQ6300 uses webOS. TechRadar’s guide treats its smart menus as a separate evaluation area, which matters because menu speed, search behavior and input switching affect daily use. Confirm the local webOS app catalog and the exact LQ6300 variant before buying.

Google TV

The TCL S5400 uses Google TV. It may appeal if you prefer Google’s content discovery and account ecosystem. The guide identifies the TV as 1080p, but platform features and supported apps can vary by country, so check the local TCL specification.

Price, geography and evidence limits

The only explicit prices in the reviewed material are Roku finder starting prices: $139.99 for 32R3C5 and $99.99 for 32R3D5, displayed on October 13, 2026. They are volatile listing values, not guaranteed retail offers, and they may not apply outside the market shown by Roku. Do not compare them directly with a local price without checking currency, taxes, shipping and seller.

TechRadar’s guide covers US and UK options and labels the TCL’s “best cheap” positioning as UK-specific. A model can be a strong candidate in one country and unavailable in another. Before purchase, confirm the electrical and tuner configuration required in your region, the warranty provider and whether the listed SKU is actually the one shipped.

TechRadar says it personally tested televisions in its guide. Its scores and rankings are editorial review results, not market-wide statistics. Roku’s resolution and model identification are manufacturer information. Keeping those evidence types separate prevents a product-page claim from being mistaken for an independent performance measurement.

Setup checklist after delivery

  1. Inspect the label and box. Match the physical model code with the order confirmation and the manufacturer page. Do this before discarding packaging.
  2. Confirm the resolution in the TV menu or manual. The visible model and specification should indicate 1920 × 1080 or Full HD. If the documentation says 720p, stop and contact the seller rather than assuming the screen will upscale to native 1080p.
  3. Connect to your network and update the software. Use the TV’s built-in update path and allow it to finish before judging menu responsiveness or app behavior.
  4. Install only the services you use. Sign in with the correct regional accounts and check that playback quality is available at the service’s supported resolution.
  5. Set the correct input for external devices. If a console or computer is connected, consult the device and TV manuals for the supported signal. A source can output a resolution the TV does not accept at a particular refresh rate.
  6. Evaluate from your normal seat. Check text clarity, shadow detail, motion and dialogue at the distance and lighting where you will actually watch. A showroom impression is not a substitute for home viewing.

Common buying mistakes and fixes

Mistake: assuming every 32-inch set is 1080p

Fix: verify the full SKU and the native pixel dimensions. Roku’s own 32-inch Select Series range includes both 720p and 1080p models.

Mistake: treating “smart” as a complete feature description

Fix: identify the platform, then check its local apps, update policy and account requirements. Smart software does not reveal panel resolution or gaming performance.

Mistake: using an editorial winner as a universal answer

Fix: treat TechRadar’s LG recommendation as a review-guide judgment for its covered markets. Match it against your budget, country and platform preference.

Mistake: trusting an old price

Fix: re-open the official listing and retailer page on the day you buy. The Roku figures cited above were displayed on a specific date and can change without notice.

Mistake: assuming HDR or 1080p guarantees excellent gaming

Fix: verify refresh rate, input lag, game mode and HDMI details in the exact model’s official specifications. Those measurements were not established for the models in the reviewed passages.

A practical decision rule

Choose the Roku 32R3C5 or 32R3D5 when the official listing confirms the SKU, Roku TV suits your app needs and the current local price is acceptable. Choose the LG 32LQ6300 when you want the model that TechRadar names best for most people and you can obtain the correct regional version. Consider the TCL S5400 when Google TV is your priority and it is sold in your market at a competitive price. Reject any candidate—including the 720p Amazon 2-Series—if native 1080p is non-negotiable and the specification does not explicitly confirm it.
