Vampire Crawlers takes the escalating builds of Vampire Survivors and puts them in a different kind of run: instead of surviving continuous, top-down action, you explore a first-person dungeon and build powerful turns by sequencing cards. The spin-off from poncle and Nosebleed Interactive released April 21, 2026, for Steam, Nintendo Switch, Xbox, and PlayStation.
What is Vampire Crawlers?
Vampire Crawlers: The Turbo Wildcard from Vampire Survivors is a single-player, turn-based card-driven roguelite with deckbuilding and dungeon crawling. Poncle developed and publishes it with Nosebleed Interactive. It reuses familiar characters, enemies, items, and weapon evolutions from Vampire Survivors, but changes both the viewpoint and the way combat unfolds. The official Steam listing describes the game as a first-person dungeon crawler with deckbuilding.
The core distinction is the pace of play. Vampire Survivors asks you to move and react while enemies press in continuously. Vampire Crawlers gives you room to choose a sequence of cards, then resolves that sequence quickly. It keeps the source game’s pleasure of watching a modest build become overwhelming, but shifts the route to that payoff from real-time upgrades to card order, combos, and deck growth.

Combat revolves around playing cards in ascending mana order. Each step in the sequence multiplies the effect of the next card, so the order matters: a carefully arranged chain can make later plays much stronger than the same cards used without a combo. Wild cards can extend the sequence, and the official description says a stack can grow to 10, 20, 30, or more cards.

Poncle calls the system “TurboTurn”: you queue actions and the game resolves them at speed, rather than making you wait through a conventional turn-based exchange. You can take time to plan or play quickly. Character cards and summoned Survivors add effects to the chain, creating the cascading, increasingly powerful turns that connect this card game to Vampire Survivors’ escalating builds. The mechanic rewards planning, but it does not require a slow pace.
What happens in a dungeon run?
Exploration takes place in first person across multi-floor dungeons. You move through the level, find treasures and interactive points of interest, and use tools such as a shovel to reach the next floor. Walls function as part of the environment rather than serving only as decoration. Xbox Wire describes a typical level as having five floors and a layout visible from the start; that is an account of a typical level, not a guarantee that every level follows the same layout.

As you progress, you gain experience and cards, collect power-ups and customization gems, and pursue weapon evolutions. Those systems give a run several connected decisions: where to explore, what to add to the deck, and how to make its cards and effects work together. Familiar weapons and Survivors appear in a structure that is substantially different from the original game’s open, top-down arenas.
How is it different from Vampire Survivors?

Platforms, release date, and access
The game launched on April 21, 2026. Official sources list Steam, Nintendo Switch, Xbox, and PlayStation. Xbox Wire specifies Xbox Series X|S and Xbox on PC, and identifies Xbox Play Anywhere and Game Pass availability. Platform catalogs, subscriptions, and regional storefronts can change, so check the store for your platform and region before buying or subscribing.

At the time the Steam listing was accessed for the official FAQ, it displayed $9.99; the FAQ cautions that console and regional prices may differ. Treat that figure as a listing observed at that time, not a current universal price. Check the relevant storefront for today’s price.
Poncle reported 358,000 demo downloads and 274,000 demo players during Steam Next Fest, and said the game had passed 420,000 wishlists. These are developer-reported promotional figures, not independently audited measures.

Controller support, multiplayer, and cross-save
Poncle says controller support is included. The official materials do not say that a controller is required or establish a particular controller model as the best choice. The launch announcement says the Steam version is single-player, and PlayStation lists one player.

The Steam FAQ said cross-save between platforms was not available at launch and that the developers were looking into it for mobile ports. That is a dated launch statement, not confirmation of the feature’s current status. Consult the current official FAQ or patch notes if carrying progress between platforms matters to you.

Is there a physical edition?
The official announcements and digital store listings cited here establish digital platform availability, but do not establish a physical cartridge or disc edition, licensed merchandise, or a physical card product. Check current platform and publisher announcements if you are looking specifically for a physical release.
