Valor Mortis requires a Windows 11, 64-bit PC with 16 GB of RAM, an SSD with 50 GB free, DirectX 12, and at least an AMD Ryzen 7 3700X processor paired with a Radeon RX 6700 graphics card. AMD’s recommended tier raises the processor to a Ryzen 7 7700 and the graphics card to a Radeon RX 7900 GRE. AMD lists the same operating system, memory, DirectX version and storage capacity for both tiers, but gives no resolution or frame-rate target, so “recommended” is not a promise of a particular performance level.
Valor Mortis requirements at a glance
The following specifications come from AMD’s official Valor Mortis hardware listing. They are published compatibility tiers, not an independent benchmark. The listing does not identify equivalent Intel processors or graphics cards and does not say whether either tier targets 1080p, 1440p, 4K, a particular graphics preset or a specific frame rate.
| Component | Minimum | Recommended |
|---|---|---|
| Operating system | Windows 11; 64-bit processor and operating system required | Windows 11; 64-bit processor and operating system required |
| Processor | AMD Ryzen 7 3700X | AMD Ryzen 7 7700 |
| Memory | 16 GB RAM | 16 GB RAM |
| Graphics card | AMD Radeon RX 6700 | AMD Radeon RX 7900 GRE |
| DirectX | Version 12 | Version 12 |
| Storage | 50 GB available; SSD required | 50 GB available; SSD required |
In practical terms, the graphics card and processor are the meaningful differences between the two rows. RAM, Windows 11, DirectX 12 and the 50 GB SSD requirement do not increase in the recommended specification.
What the minimum specification means
It is a compatibility floor, not a performance guarantee
A PC at or above the minimum has the hardware class AMD says the game needs to run. That does not establish a frame rate, visual preset or resolution. A system can technically satisfy the list and still need lower graphics settings, resolution scaling or other adjustments, depending on the final build, drivers and the rest of the system.
The processor requirement is substantial
The minimum CPU is an AMD Ryzen 7 3700X. AMD does not publish an Intel equivalent, so it would be misleading to label a particular Core model as an official match. If your computer uses Intel, compare its exact model and generation with current game benchmarks only as a separate, non-official estimate; the published requirement itself names only the Ryzen 7 3700X.
The minimum GPU is a Radeon RX 6700
The Radeon RX 6700 is the listed minimum graphics card. The requirement applies to the exact model class named by AMD, not to every card with “Radeon” in its name. Laptop GPUs, integrated graphics and older desktop cards can differ considerably even when their product names look similar. Check the full model shown by Windows before deciding that a system qualifies.
Sixteen gigabytes of RAM is required in both tiers
AMD lists 16 GB for minimum and recommended configurations. This is installed system memory, not graphics-card memory. A PC with 8 GB does not meet the published requirement, while adding more than 16 GB is not identified as necessary by this listing.

Windows 11 and 64-bit support are mandatory in the listing
Both tiers specify Windows 11 and a 64-bit processor and operating system. Windows 10 is not listed as supported in the published table. A 64-bit CPU alone is insufficient if the installed Windows edition is 32-bit, so verify both items.
DirectX 12 is part of the requirement
The game lists DirectX 12 for both tiers. DirectX support is provided by the operating system, graphics driver and GPU together; installing a newer standalone runtime does not turn an incompatible graphics card into a DirectX 12-capable one.
An SSD with 50 GB free space is required
The listing says “50 GB available” and specifically requires an SSD. Treat 50 GB as free capacity needed for installation, not as the drive’s total size. The game may also need temporary space for unpacking, patches or updates, so avoid filling the drive to exactly the stated number. AMD does not state the download size or a separate allowance for future updates.

Minimum versus recommended: where the upgrade matters
| Area | Minimum tier | Recommended tier | What changes |
|---|---|---|---|
| CPU | Ryzen 7 3700X | Ryzen 7 7700 | A newer, higher-tier Ryzen processor is specified for the recommended system. |
| GPU | Radeon RX 6700 | Radeon RX 7900 GRE | The recommended graphics card is a substantially higher model in AMD’s lineup. |
| RAM | 16 GB | 16 GB | No additional memory is listed. |
| OS | Windows 11, 64-bit | Windows 11, 64-bit | No operating-system change. |
| DirectX | 12 | 12 | No API-version change. |
| Storage | 50 GB free on an SSD | 50 GB free on an SSD | No additional capacity is listed. |
The table should not be read as a promise that replacing only one part will produce a particular frame rate. AMD gives no performance target. If you are upgrading, identify the component that falls below the tier first and account for compatibility with your motherboard, power supply, case and cooling system.

1. Confirm Windows edition and system type
- Open Settings from the Start menu.
- Select System, then About.
- Under Windows specifications, confirm that the edition is Windows 11.
- Under Device specifications, find System type and confirm a 64-bit operating system. The processor must also support 64-bit operation.
2. Identify the installed processor and memory
- Press Ctrl + Shift + Esc to open Task Manager.
- Choose Performance, then CPU. Record the complete processor model, including its Ryzen series and model number.
- Select Memory and record the installed amount. Confirm that it is at least 16 GB, not merely that 16 GB is available at the moment.
Compare the exact CPU model with Ryzen 7 3700X for the minimum tier or Ryzen 7 7700 for the recommended tier. Do not infer an official Intel equivalent because AMD has not supplied one.
3. Identify the graphics card
- In Task Manager, open Performance, then select each listed GPU.
- Record the full model name. If more than one GPU appears, note which one is connected to the display and which one a game normally uses.
- For a second check, press Windows + R, type
dxdiag, press Enter and open the Display or Render tab.
The minimum comparison is Radeon RX 6700; the recommended comparison is Radeon RX 7900 GRE. Integrated graphics or a laptop GPU should not be treated as an automatic match simply because the computer has a modern CPU.
4. Verify DirectX
- Press Windows + R, enter
dxdiagand press Enter. - Read the DirectX Version line on the System tab.
- Check the Display or Render tab for driver errors and the GPU’s feature support.
Windows 11 normally includes DirectX 12, but an outdated or malfunctioning graphics driver can still cause launch problems. Use the GPU manufacturer’s current driver package rather than relying on the DirectX version line alone.
5. Check SSD capacity and free space
- Open File Explorer and select This PC.
- Find the drive where you plan to install the game and confirm that it is an SSD.
- Check the free-space figure and leave more than 50 GB available before starting the installation.
If your computer has both an SSD and a hard disk, selecting the wrong library or installation folder can violate the requirement even when the PC contains an SSD elsewhere.
Deciding what to upgrade
Your PC is below the minimum CPU or GPU
It does not meet AMD’s published configuration. Check whether the part can be replaced on your platform before buying anything. A desktop graphics-card upgrade may require additional power connectors, a larger case and a suitable power supply. A CPU upgrade may require a compatible motherboard socket, firmware update and adequate cooling. The requirement alone does not establish which upgrade is economical.

Your PC meets the minimum but not the recommended tier
It falls between AMD’s two published tiers. That is a legitimate configuration category, but the page does not provide a performance estimate for it. Plan to use the game’s own graphics menu to adjust resolution, quality settings and any upscaling options after installation, rather than assuming the recommended tier is required to launch.
Your PC meets or exceeds the recommended parts
Your hardware matches the highest tier AMD lists. Keep Windows 11, the graphics driver and motherboard firmware current, and retain sufficient SSD space for updates. Because AMD publishes no frame-rate or resolution target, matching the recommended list still cannot guarantee a particular result on your monitor.

- Confusing VRAM with system RAM: a graphics card’s memory does not count toward the 16 GB system-memory requirement.
- Checking only the brand: “AMD Radeon” or “Ryzen” is not enough; the model number determines how it compares with the listed parts.
- Installing to a hard disk: the requirement explicitly calls for an SSD, even if the hard disk has 50 GB free.
- Assuming Windows 10 qualifies: Windows 11 is the operating system named in both tiers.
- Ignoring 32-bit Windows: the listing requires a 64-bit processor and operating system.
- Reading “recommended” as a frame-rate guarantee: AMD provides no resolution or frame-rate target with the table.
- Leaving no patch space: 50 GB is the stated available-space requirement, not a promise that updates will never need additional room.
If Valor Mortis will not launch after your PC passes the checklist
- Restart Windows and install pending Windows updates.
- Update the Radeon or other GPU driver from the GPU manufacturer, then restart again.
- Run
dxdiagand look for display-driver errors. - Confirm that the game is installed on the SSD you checked, not on a secondary hard disk.
- Free additional space if the drive is nearly full, because installers and patches can require temporary working room.
- If the launcher reports unsupported hardware, recheck the exact CPU and GPU model rather than relying on a shop name or a family label.
These checks address configuration problems; they do not establish that a system below AMD’s minimum will run the game.
How current are the published requirements?
AMD’s official Valor Mortis page was checked on October 13, 2026. Requirements can change as a game approaches release or receives updates, so verify the final store listing and the developer or publisher’s current hardware page immediately before purchasing or installing. The store listing was not independently confirmed here, and no additional Intel equivalents, resolution targets or frame-rate targets should be assumed until they are published.
Bottom line for a buying or upgrade decision
Start with the exact model numbers in your PC. For the published minimum, you need Windows 11 64-bit, 16 GB RAM, DirectX 12, an SSD with 50 GB free, a Ryzen 7 3700X and a Radeon RX 6700. AMD’s recommended row changes only the CPU and GPU—to a Ryzen 7 7700 and Radeon RX 7900 GRE—while keeping the other requirements identical. If your system sits between those rows, the listing does not say what frame rate or resolution to expect, so avoid treating either tier as a performance promise.
