Valor Mortis has the highest published minimum hardware bar of the three games compared here. Its listed baseline is Windows 11, a Ryzen 7 3700X, 16 GB of memory, a Radeon RX 6700, DirectX 12 and 50 GB on an SSD. That is a substantially stronger CPU, GPU and memory requirement than Elden Ring lists, while Lords of the Fallen sits between the two depending on the component. These are publisher and platform requirement lists, not controlled benchmarks, and Valor Mortis does not state a target resolution, quality preset or frame rate for either tier.
Valor Mortis PC requirements
AMD’s official Valor Mortis game page labels its specifications “Recommended Hardware” and separates them into Minimum and Recommended tiers. Both tiers require Windows 11, DirectX 12, 16 GB of RAM and 50 GB of SSD capacity. The processor and graphics card are the parts that change between tiers.
| Component | Minimum | Recommended |
|---|---|---|
| Operating system | Windows 11 | Windows 11 |
| CPU | AMD Ryzen 7 3700X | AMD Ryzen 7 7700 |
| Memory | 16 GB RAM | 16 GB RAM |
| GPU | AMD Radeon RX 6700 | AMD Radeon RX 7900 GRE |
| Graphics API | DirectX 12 | DirectX 12 |
| Storage | 50 GB; SSD required | 50 GB; SSD required |
The page does not attach a frame-rate, resolution or graphics-preset target to either tier. Therefore, “minimum” cannot be translated into a promise such as 1080p at 60 frames per second. It only means that the listed configuration is the developer’s stated baseline for running the game. Actual results can vary with drivers, cooling, laptop power limits, background applications, patches and in-game settings.

How the published minimums compare
Model names from different generations and manufacturers are not performance-equivalent by themselves. The comparison below reports what each source publishes; it does not claim that one game will run at the same frame rate as another on the same nominal component.

| Game | Minimum CPU | Minimum memory | Minimum GPU | OS and DirectX | Storage |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Valor Mortis | Ryzen 7 3700X | 16 GB | Radeon RX 6700 | Windows 11; DirectX 12 | 50 GB; SSD required |
| Elden Ring | Core i5-8400 or Ryzen 3 3300X | 12 GB | GeForce GTX 1060 3 GB or Radeon RX 580 4 GB | Windows 10; DirectX 12 | 60 GB |
| Lords of the Fallen (2023) | Core i5-8400 or Ryzen 5 2600 | 12 GB | GeForce GTX 1060 or Radeon RX 590, with 6 GB VRAM listed | Windows 10 64-bit; DirectX 12 | 45 GB; SSD preferred at minimum |
On the published minimum lists, Valor Mortis asks for 16 GB rather than 12 GB of RAM, a Ryzen 7 3700X rather than the older Ryzen 3 3300X example in Elden Ring, and an RX 6700 rather than an RX 580 4 GB. Its 50 GB installation figure is smaller than Elden Ring’s 60 GB. Those differences describe the requirement tables only; they are not a performance ranking.
Valor Mortis versus Elden Ring
CPU and memory
Elden Ring’s minimum CPU examples are the Intel Core i5-8400 and AMD Ryzen 3 3300X, with 12 GB of memory. Valor Mortis names the Ryzen 7 3700X and 16 GB. The newer game therefore sets a higher published baseline in both processor class and system memory. A computer that meets Elden Ring’s minimum list may still fall short of Valor Mortis before the graphics card is considered.
Graphics card
Elden Ring lists a GeForce GTX 1060 with 3 GB of VRAM or a Radeon RX 580 with 4 GB. Valor Mortis lists a Radeon RX 6700. These GPUs differ in architecture, memory capacity and driver era, so the names cannot be converted into an exact percentage advantage. The useful practical conclusion is narrower: Valor Mortis’ stated minimum GPU is a much newer, higher-tier example than the cards in Elden Ring’s minimum list.

Recommended tiers
| Game | Recommended CPU | Recommended memory | Recommended GPU | Storage |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Valor Mortis | Ryzen 7 7700 | 16 GB | Radeon RX 7900 GRE | 50 GB; SSD required; no target stated |
| Elden Ring | Core i7-8700K or Ryzen 5 3600X | 16 GB | GeForce GTX 1070 8 GB or Radeon RX Vega 56 8 GB | 60 GB; no additional target stated |
Both games list 16 GB in their recommended tiers, but Valor Mortis names a Ryzen 7 7700 and RX 7900 GRE, while Elden Ring names older CPU and GPU examples. Because neither source provides a shared test system or a common frame-rate target, this is a specification-level comparison rather than proof of how many frames either game will deliver.
Valor Mortis versus Lords of the Fallen
Where the requirements overlap
Lords of the Fallen’s minimum listing uses 12 GB of RAM, a Core i5-8400 or Ryzen 5 2600, and a GTX 1060 or RX 590. Valor Mortis raises the minimum memory figure to 16 GB and names an RX 6700. The RX 6700 appears in Lords of the Fallen’s recommended block, making it a useful dividing line in the published tables: it is the minimum example for Valor Mortis but a recommended example for Lords of the Fallen.
Storage and stated targets
Lords of the Fallen lists 45 GB, compared with 50 GB for Valor Mortis. Its official FAQ says an SSD is preferred at minimum and required at recommended. Valor Mortis marks an SSD as required in both tiers. A Steam listing for Lords of the Fallen includes 1080p High Quality Settings and 60 FPS in its recommended information; that precise target should not be attributed to the official FAQ, and Valor Mortis’ page supplies no equivalent target.

| Game | Recommended CPU | Recommended memory | Recommended GPU | Storage and target information |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Valor Mortis | Ryzen 7 7700 | 16 GB | Radeon RX 7900 GRE | 50 GB; SSD required; resolution, quality and FPS not stated |
| Lords of the Fallen (2023) | Core i7-8700 or Ryzen 5 3600 | 16 GB | GeForce RTX 2080 or Radeon RX 6700, with 8 GB VRAM listed | 45 GB; Steam listing states 1080p High Quality and 60 FPS |
On paper, Valor Mortis demands more memory and a newer minimum GPU than Lords of the Fallen, while both recommended tiers list 16 GB. The games’ documentation uses different wording and, in the case of Lords of the Fallen, different source pages, so do not treat the table as a cross-game benchmark.
What these requirements mean for your computer
Check Windows and DirectX
- Open Settings in Windows and choose System > About. Confirm that the edition is Windows 11 and note whether the system is 64-bit.
- Press
Win + R, enterdxdiag, and press Enter. The System tab shows the Windows build, processor, memory and DirectX version. - Use the Display tab to record the exact graphics processor and its displayed dedicated memory. Integrated graphics or a laptop GPU with a similar name is not automatically equivalent to a desktop RX 6700.
Check the CPU and RAM
Compare the exact processor model, not just “Ryzen 7” or “Core i7.” The generation and power limit matter. A laptop Ryzen 7 3700U, for example, is not the same class as the desktop Ryzen 7 3700X named by the requirement. In Settings > System > About, installed RAM should be at least 16 GB; close background applications if your system is near the limit, but do not count virtual memory as a substitute for physical RAM.
Check the graphics card
Open Task Manager > Performance > GPU or the graphics driver control panel and record the full model. Check whether the game would use the discrete GPU rather than an integrated adapter, particularly on a notebook. The published list does not specify a VRAM minimum for Valor Mortis, so the RX 6700 model is the clearest comparison point supplied by the developer.

Check SSD capacity
In File Explorer > This PC, verify that the intended SSD has at least 50 GB free before installation. Leave additional headroom for temporary files, shader caches, updates and save backups; the published number is the game’s stated capacity, not a recommendation to fill a drive to its last gigabyte.
If your PC is below the listed minimum
- Below Windows 11: do not assume Windows 10 support. Valor Mortis’ published requirement names Windows 11, whereas the comparator games list Windows 10. Check hardware compatibility and the live game listing before changing operating systems.
- Below 16 GB RAM: upgrading system memory is the most direct way to address the stated shortfall, provided the motherboard or laptop supports the capacity and matching modules.
- Below an RX 6700-class GPU: the requirement does not identify a guaranteed substitute. Compare independent performance data for the exact card, account for VRAM and power limits, and confirm that the power supply and case can support any replacement.
- Using a hard drive: Valor Mortis explicitly requires an SSD. Moving the installation to an SSD is a prerequisite, not merely an optimization.
- Near the minimum: start with conservative graphics settings and monitor frame-time stability, temperatures and memory use. The source does not establish which preset the minimum tier represents.
A component purchase is not automatically necessary: first identify which requirement your current PC misses and whether the limitation is the operating system, storage medium, memory, processor or GPU. Replacing a graphics card will not fix an unsupported operating system or a hard-drive installation.

The requirements summarized here were checked on October 13, 2026. A Steam search result showed an October 13, 2026 release date and indicated that the game was not yet available on Steam when that result was crawled. The full store page could not be inspected beyond its age-check screen, so the AMD page is the authoritative source for the values above. Store data, patches and requirements can change around launch; verify the live listing before buying or upgrading.

No controlled test comparing Valor Mortis, Elden Ring and Lords of the Fallen on identical hardware was provided. Consequently, no claim here guarantees 30 or 60 FPS, a specific resolution, ray-tracing behavior or a graphics preset. Thermals, laptop wattage, drivers and future patches can change the result even when every listed box is checked.
A practical pre-install checklist
- Confirm Windows 11 and DirectX 12 in
dxdiag. - Confirm at least 16 GB of physical RAM.
- Record the exact CPU and compare it with Ryzen 7 3700X, treating unlike desktop and laptop models cautiously.
- Record the exact GPU and use Radeon RX 6700 as the minimum reference point.
- Reserve 50 GB or more on an SSD, with extra free space for updates.
- Update the operating system and graphics driver from the relevant manufacturer before first launch.
- After installation, begin with the game’s own automatic or conservative graphics settings if available, then adjust one setting at a time while watching frame-time consistency.
The Auto-Set graphics option and driver-update advice published in the Lords of the Fallen support FAQ are troubleshooting guidance for that game, not a tested Valor Mortis fix. They are sensible general checks, but Valor Mortis-specific behavior should be confirmed after launch.
Bottom line
For a PC buyer, Valor Mortis should be treated as the most demanding minimum specification in this comparison: Windows 11, 16 GB RAM, a Ryzen 7 3700X and Radeon RX 6700, plus an SSD. Elden Ring has the lower published entry point and a larger listed installation, while Lords of the Fallen falls between them and places the RX 6700 in its recommended tier. Use the lists to identify compatibility gaps, not to infer guaranteed frame rates; Valor Mortis’ official requirements provide no resolution or FPS promise.
