Lullaby starts at the empty crib in the house beside the water in Fallen Village > Marketplace. Leave through the back door, take the Weathered Key near the enemies, cross the river to the house beyond it, use the key to retrieve the Toy, and return the Toy to the crib. The reward is the Tomorrow's Promise Amber. No researched guide publishes a recommended level or confirms replay and repeat rewards; the quest is not missable and can be completed after the story.

How to start Lullaby
Travel to the Marketplace Lantern
Reach Fallen Village > Marketplace and use the Marketplace Lantern as your navigation point. You can fast-travel there if that Lantern is available in your game, or walk to the region normally. The important landmark is the house beside the water, rather than a quest marker described by the walkthroughs.
Find the empty crib
Enter the house near the water and approach the empty crib. Interaction with the crib starts Lullaby. If nothing happens, make sure you are examining the crib itself rather than another object in the room, and confirm that you are in the water-side house in Marketplace.

Complete walkthrough: key, Toy and return trip
- Start at the crib. From the Marketplace Lantern, enter the nearby house and interact with the empty crib. This is the quest trigger.
- Use the back door. Once Lullaby has started, leave the house through its back door. The route deliberately takes you away from the crib before sending you back.
- Collect the Weathered Key. Look near the enemies outside the rear of the house. Pick up the Weathered Key before moving on; it is the item needed to open the second house.
- Head toward the previous area. Turn back in the direction of the Lantern and follow the path toward the area you came from. Do not search for the Toy at the first house; the key and Toy are in different locations.
- Use the Volunteer as a landmark. After passing the Volunteer, turn right. This turn is the route described by the walkthrough and is the clearest orientation point on the return path.
- Cross the river and enter the house. Jump across the river to the house on the other side. Unlock its door with the Weathered Key, then go inside and take the Toy from the bed.
- Return to the crib house. Retrace the route to the house beside the water in Marketplace. Interact with the crib while carrying the Toy to finish Lullaby and receive Tomorrow's Promise.
Where exactly is the Weathered Key?
The Weathered Key is outside the crib house, near the enemies reached through the back door. It is not in the house with the crib and it is not on the bed where you later find the Toy. The reliable sequence is: start the quest at the crib, exit through the rear door, then search the area around the enemies for the pickup.

If you have reached the path toward the previous area without collecting the key, turn around and check the back-door area again. The key is required for the locked house across the river, so reaching that door without it is a sign that the pickup was skipped rather than evidence of a different route.
Finding the Toy across the river
After taking the key, move back toward the Lantern. Continue until you pass the Volunteer, then turn right and jump across the river. The target house is beyond the river, not the water-side house where Lullaby began. At the door, use the Weathered Key; inside, the Toy is on the bed.
The river crossing is the route's main point of confusion because the objective sends you back through a previously visited area. If you are looking at a locked door but cannot open it, verify that you picked up the Weathered Key near the enemies behind the crib house. If you are in a house with a crib, you have returned to the starting location, not the Toy location.

How to finish the quest
Carry the Toy back to the original house near the water in Fallen Village > Marketplace. Interact with the crib again. The return interaction completes Lullaby and awards Tomorrow's Promise. There is no separate hand-in character or additional destination identified in the walkthrough; the crib is both the starting interaction and the completion interaction.
What level should you be for Lullaby?
No recommended player level is published for Lullaby in the available walkthroughs. That means there is no evidence-based number to target, and assigning one would be misleading. The guides identify the region, landmarks and item route but do not state a level requirement, level scaling rule or minimum level.
Use your current progression and ability to handle the enemies around the back door as the practical readiness check. Because the documented route does not provide a numeric threshold, players should not delay the quest solely to reach an invented level. Conversely, if the enemies are currently blocking the key pickup, advancing elsewhere and returning later is reasonable; Lullaby is not reported as missable.

What you receive
Completion grants Tomorrow's Promise, an Amber. The Amber guide places Tomorrow's Promise in Fallen Village > Marketplace and identifies Lullaby as its source, matching the side-quest walkthrough.

Ambers are equipment-effect collectibles in Valor Mortis. The Amber guide records 28 unique Ambers across 55 locations, so Tomorrow's Promise is one collectible in a larger exploration system rather than a currency payout or a consumable listed separately from equipment effects. The available material does not specify Tomorrow's Promise's individual effect, numerical bonus or slot behavior; do not infer those details from the quest reward alone.
Is Lullaby missable?
No. PowerPyx's side-quest guide lists Lullaby among the quests that are not missable and says side quests, apart from The Choir, can be started and completed after the story. You can therefore continue the main path, return to Fallen Village later and still use the crib to begin Lullaby, provided the game state is behaving normally.

This timing information changes how you should plan the route: there is no documented deadline tied to entering Marketplace, collecting the key or completing the story. If you are exploring the area already, finishing Lullaby avoids a later trip, but postponing it is supported by the guide's missability statement.

Replayability is unconfirmed. The available guides do not document a replay command, a way to reset Lullaby, repeat completion or a second Tomorrow's Promise reward. That is different from a confirmed “no”: the sources simply do not describe repeat behavior.
After completion, treat the quest as finished unless your game displays an explicit restart or repeat option. Do not expect a documented second Amber, and do not discard the original reward on the assumption that the quest can be farmed. If a future update adds replay functionality, its rules would need to be verified in the game or in updated documentation.

Why the route backtracks
Lullaby uses a compact retrieval loop: the crib starts the objective, the back-door area supplies the key, the river crossing leads to the Toy, and the crib closes the loop. Xbox Wire describes Valor Mortis as rewarding exploration in a metroidvania-like structure. Lullaby's return through the previous area fits that design: a landmark you already passed becomes useful only after the quest item changes what you can open.
Read the route as a sequence of navigation states rather than a straight line. Before the key, the locked house is only a destination. After the key, the Volunteer and river crossing identify the correct branch. After the Toy, the same water-side house changes from the starting point into the hand-in location.
Troubleshooting common stops
The crib does not start the quest
- Confirm that you are in Fallen Village > Marketplace.
- Enter the house beside the water, not the house across the river.
- Interact with the empty crib itself.
- If you already completed Lullaby, the interaction may no longer behave as a new quest; replay is not documented.
The Weathered Key is missing
- Leave through the crib house's back door.
- Search around the enemies outside that rear exit.
- Check your inventory or quest items before leaving the area; the key is needed at the river-side house.
The locked house will not open
- Return toward the previous area from the Marketplace Lantern.
- Pass the Volunteer and turn right.
- Jump across the river to the house beyond it.
- Use the Weathered Key on that door. A different house or a missing key means you are not at the documented target.
The quest does not complete
- Make sure you took the Toy from the bed inside the unlocked house.
- Return to the original house near the water in Marketplace.
- Interact with the crib again while carrying the Toy.
What the guides establish—and what they do not
The route, reward and missability are consistently identified: Marketplace is the start, the Weathered Key and Toy are the retrieval objectives, Tomorrow's Promise is the Amber reward, and Lullaby is safe to postpone. The same material does not establish a recommended level, a numeric enemy requirement, a replay command or repeat-reward behavior.
That distinction matters when planning a completion run. You can confidently route to the quest and claim its Amber, but you should not build a leveling plan around an unpublished threshold or assume that the reward can be obtained repeatedly. For a first completion, follow the crib-to-key-to-river-to-Toy-to-crib sequence and use the Volunteer as the turn marker.
