Use Hunter Mode in Revo Uninstaller to Find and Manage an App

To use Hunter Mode in Revo Uninstaller, activate Hunter Mode, drag its on-screen target onto an app window or icon, check the tooltip, then release the mouse button and choose an available action. You can also target an app’s system-tray icon.

How to select an app with Hunter Mode

1. Open Revo Uninstaller and click Hunter Mode. Revo’s official how-to says the main window minimizes and a rectangular target appears, usually near the upper-right of the screen. Button placement and appearance may differ by edition or version.

2. Press and hold the left mouse button on the target, then drag it over the app’s open window, desktop shortcut, or supported icon.

3. Read the tooltip that appears to identify the item under the target. Release the mouse button when it identifies the app you intend to manage.

4. Choose a command from the menu that appears. Available commands depend on the selected item and Revo version.

What the Hunter Mode commands do

The menu may include commands to uninstall the selected program, stop it from starting automatically, close or kill its process, kill and delete it, open its containing folder, or search for the app or its publisher. The exact choices vary; not every command appears for every target.

Check the tooltip and confirm the selected app before using a command that stops or deletes a process. Revo’s guides describe these actions but do not establish that every version provides the same safeguards or recovery options.

Target an app in the system tray

To select a tray app, drag the Hunter Mode target to the Windows system tray, position it over the relevant program icon, and release the mouse button when the tooltip identifies the app. Then choose an available action. Revo describes this procedure in its support guidance.

Move or configure the target

To reposition the target itself, hold the middle mouse button on it and drag. Right-click the target to open its context menu. Depending on the edition and version, the menu may let you reopen Revo’s main window, enable Hunter Mode at Windows startup, change the target’s size or transparency, or exit Revo. Revo’s official instructions describe these controls.

Is Hunter Mode available in Revo Free?

Revo’s Freeware User’s Guide and a 2020 Revo article document Hunter Mode in Free materials as well as Pro documentation. The available official materials therefore do not support calling it a Pro-only feature. Exact controls can still vary by version.
