Short answer: Converting USDS to USDC through Sky’s Peg Stability Module (PSM) is currently a 1:1 on-chain swap with a zero protocol swap fee in either direction. You still pay the blockchain’s gas cost. That swap does not deposit dollars into a bank account. To receive fiat, you must send the resulting USDC to a separate exchange or off-ramp whose country coverage, verification rules, fees, limits and payout timing are different.
The key decision is therefore which event you mean by cash-out: a USDS-to-USDC conversion, or a complete fiat withdrawal. The first is described in Sky.money’s June 12, 2026 explainer; the second has no universal fee, limit or settlement time because it depends on the provider and your location.
What USDS cash-out actually means
USDS is Sky Protocol’s stablecoin. In the documented PSM route, you exchange USDS for USDC on-chain rather than redeeming a claim for dollars from an issuer. Sky.money describes the USDS and USDC conversion as a 1:1 swap, while an S&P Global Ratings assessment distinguishes that protocol exchange from issuer redemption for fiat.

Calling the first step a bank withdrawal can lead to the wrong expectations. A completed PSM transaction does not itself create a dollar balance at your bank, and it does not establish how quickly a provider will accept, review or pay out your USDC.
Fees: what you pay at each stage
Fees must be separated into the protocol’s route charge, the blockchain transaction cost and any provider charge for converting USDC to fiat. The Sky.money USDS explainer, published June 12, 2026, says both directions of the USDS/USDC PSM swap are set to a zero protocol swap fee. It also says standard network gas still applies.

Zero protocol fee does not mean free. Gas can vary with network demand, and a second transaction may be needed to move USDC to an exchange. Sky’s Terms of Use make users responsible for gas and applicable service or transaction fees, and note that fees can be updated through Sky governance.

Why the live interface matters
Sky.money says routes involving stablecoins other than the documented USDS/USDC pair can have different charges. Open the official Sky.money interface, select the exact assets and network, enter the amount and inspect the fee breakdown before approving. Do not copy a fee from an older guide or assume that a zero-fee PSM setting applies to every route.
Limits, liquidity and the figures you can trust
No reviewed source establishes a universal personal minimum or maximum for USDS cash-out. A route may have contract-level parameters, available liquidity or rate limits that change over time, but those are not the same as a permanent individual withdrawal allowance. Check the selected route and amount in the live interface rather than treating a governance parameter as a retail limit.
Sky.money’s June 12, 2026 explainer reported roughly $4.12 billion in stablecoin liquidity in the PSM at the time of writing. That is a dated publisher figure, not a current balance, a promise that an order of any size will execute, or evidence that a bank payout is available. On-chain liquidity and the route displayed for your wallet should be checked immediately before a large transaction.

The same explainer says USDS supply grew 74% in 2025. That historical growth statistic does not measure today’s PSM capacity or your off-ramp’s withdrawal limit, so it should not be used to plan a cash-out amount.
Settlement times: swap speed is not bank speed
The PSM mechanism uses pre-minted liquidity. Sky.money describes the conversion as a single transaction that can clear without waiting for a new token mint. In practical terms, that means the protocol leg can be submitted in one wallet transaction; it does not guarantee that the wallet will confirm instantly or that a later exchange and bank payout will be immediate.

Therefore, an on-chain swap that appears promptly in a wallet is not evidence that spendable fiat will arrive on a particular date. Treat any estimate shown by the exchange or bank as a separate, route-specific promise.

How to convert USDS and then withdraw fiat
- Decide the destination. If you only need another crypto asset, the PSM conversion may complete your task. If you need bank money, identify an exchange or off-ramp that serves your country and accepts USDC on the network where your funds are held.
- Record the asset and network. Note whether your wallet holds USDS on the same network supported by the selected route. For the later transfer, confirm the provider accepts that exact USDC network; sending an unsupported network can delay recovery or make funds inaccessible.
- Check the wallet’s gas balance. The wallet needs the network’s fee token in addition to USDS. Gas is separate from the PSM’s zero protocol swap fee.
- Open Sky.money and select the route. Use the current interface at sky.money. Choose USDS as the input and USDC as the output, select the correct network and enter the intended amount. Interface labels and available routes can change.
- Read the transaction preview. Confirm the quoted 1:1 amount, protocol fee, gas estimate, network, receiving address and any route-specific charge. If the interface shows a nonzero fee, you are not looking at the same zero-fee condition or the route has changed.
- Approve and submit. Sign the approval and swap in your wallet only after checking the destination address and amount. Keep the transaction hash so you can track confirmation.
- Wait for confirmation and verify USDC. Confirm the transaction on the relevant block explorer or in your wallet, then verify that the expected USDC balance is present on the correct network. A pending wallet transaction is not the same as a completed exchange deposit.
- Transfer USDC to the off-ramp. Copy the provider’s deposit address and network exactly. Compare the network shown by the provider with the network selected in your wallet, and check any minimum deposit requirement before sending.
- Complete the provider’s process. The provider may require identity verification, account review, source-of-funds information or additional confirmations. After the USDC deposit is credited, select the supported fiat currency and payout method, then review the provider’s displayed fee, limit and settlement estimate.
- Keep records. Save the PSM transaction hash, exchange deposit reference, quoted fees and payout confirmation. These details are useful if a provider asks for transaction evidence or a bank transfer is delayed.

Pre-transaction checklist
- Have you decided whether the goal is USDC or fiat?
- Is the selected network supported by both your wallet and the next destination?
- Does the wallet contain enough network fee token for the swap and any later transfer?
- Does the live preview show the expected route, amount and fee?
- Have you checked current liquidity for the amount rather than relying on the dated $4.12 billion figure?
- For fiat, does the provider serve your country and payout method?
- Have you checked its current minimum, maximum, service fee, deposit requirement and settlement estimate?
- Is your account verified before you send funds, if verification is required?
- Have you copied the exact deposit network and address?
- Will you retain transaction hashes and payout references?
Common problems and practical fixes
The interface shows a fee
Recheck the input and output assets, network and route. The zero-fee statement applies to the documented USDS/USDC PSM path, not every stablecoin conversion. Read the current fee breakdown and stop if the displayed cost is not acceptable.
The wallet cannot submit the transaction
Insufficient gas, a disconnected wallet or a network mismatch can prevent signing. Switch to the network actually holding your USDS, reconnect the wallet and add the required fee token. Never send funds to an address on a network the destination does not support.
The swap is pending
Use the transaction hash to check network status. A pending transaction may reflect congestion or an inadequate fee setting. Do not submit repeated swaps until you know whether the first transaction failed or is still propagating.

The exchange does not credit the USDC deposit
Check that the transaction is confirmed, the asset is USDC rather than USDS and the network matches the provider’s deposit instructions. If all three match, provide the transaction hash and deposit reference to the provider. Credit times and confirmation requirements are not universal.
The fiat withdrawal is delayed or held
Review the provider’s account status, verification requests and payout rail. A compliance review, a bank cutoff, a weekend or a local holiday can affect the estimate. Sky’s PSM confirmation does not override those provider and banking steps.
What is and is not guaranteed
The strongest supported claim is narrow: under the conditions described by Sky.money on June 12, 2026, USDS and USDC can be swapped 1:1 through the PSM with a zero protocol swap fee, while network gas remains payable. The sources do not establish a universal retail cash-out cap, a guaranteed minimum, a fixed end-to-end processing time or a bank settlement promise.
