A screen built into a USB-C charging cable can show live charging measurements—not video. UGREEN says its Nexode 240W USB-C cable displays voltage, current, and power, while its charging rating, data speed, and lack of video support are separate specifications to check before buying.
What does the screen on a USB-C cable show?
On UGREEN’s Nexode 240W cable, the inline display reports charging voltage (V), current (A), and power (W) in real time. A tap rotates the display, and a long press turns it off, according to UGREEN’s product information.
Those readings let you observe the charging connection; the screen is not a monitor or a video display. The figures can vary with the connected charger and device, so a reading is not a promise that every setup will charge at the cable’s maximum rating.
What the UGREEN Nexode cable supports
UGREEN’s US listing gives this model a maximum charging rating of 240W under USB Power Delivery 3.1, at 48V/5A. That is the cable’s supported ceiling, not a guaranteed charging rate: the charger, device, and their capabilities affect the power delivered. UGREEN lists 3.3-foot and 6.6-foot lengths.

How to assess a USB-C cable with a screen
Don’t treat the presence of a USB-C connector or a high wattage number as proof that a cable can do everything you need. Check these capabilities independently:

- Data: Check the stated USB standard and transfer speed. This model is USB 2.0, up to 480 Mbps.
- Video: Confirm explicit video-output support if you plan to connect a display. UGREEN says this cable does not support video output or monitor extension.

- Display purpose: Treat the inline screen as a way to view charging measurements, not as evidence of faster data or video capability.
Are cable screens becoming common?
Some recent coverage frames display-equipped cables as a newer extension of the status screens already seen on power banks and chargers. That describes a visible product trend, but no independent market figures establish how quickly these cables are growing in number or sales. The practical case for a screen is straightforward: it makes charging measurements visible at the cable. Whether that is useful depends on whether you want to monitor those readings; it does not change the cable’s separately stated charging, data, or video capabilities.
