A Destructoid guide published and updated October 2, 2026, reports that difficulty does not matter, but presents that point as the author’s understanding rather than a verified guarantee. The publisher’s official description confirms that officers can be unlocked by meeting special battle conditions, but does not specify Lu Bu’s requirement. Destructoid’s Lu Bu guide and the publisher’s official site provide those respective details.
How to unlock Diaochan
-
Play Battle of Hulao Gate.
-
If Diaochan appears during the battle, defeat her.
-
Complete the battle. The guide reports that Diaochan then becomes available as an officer.
The guide does not specify how to trigger her appearance or whether it depends on prior progress. It also does not say that this run must meet Lu Bu’s 1,000-KO requirement. Destructoid’s Diaochan guide gives the reported unlock steps.
What is confirmed about this remaster
This guide concerns the remastered release, not earlier versions, whose unlock requirements may differ. The publisher says the remaster combines Dynasty Warriors 3 and Dynasty Warriors 3: Xtreme Legends, and describes Musou Mode as individual officer stories. Its US site lists PlayStation 5, Nintendo Switch 2, Xbox Series X|S, and Steam, with an October 1, 2026 release. The official game description, unlock overview, and platform listing cover these details.
