To unlock a dunk package in NBA 2K27, your MyPLAYER must meet every requirement listed for it—usually a Driving Dunk rating, but sometimes also Vertical, Standing Dunk, or a height limit. Then buy eligible packages in Dunk Style Creator, equip them, and select the resulting custom style in Animations. Having enough VC does not bypass an attribute requirement.
Which ratings unlock dunk packages?
Driving Dunk is a primary requirement for many packages, but it is not the only possible gate. Check the package’s full criteria: some animations require a minimum Vertical or Standing Dunk, and some impose height limits. Requirements vary by package, so do not assume that meeting one package’s Driving Dunk threshold unlocks another.

How to buy, equip, and select a dunk package
- Enter MyCAREER or The City.
- Open Animations, go to Gameplay Moves, and open Dunk Style Creator.
- Choose packages your build qualifies for and purchase them if they have a VC cost. An ineligible package stays locked even if you have VC.
- Equip the packages in Dunk Style Creator and save the custom dunk style.
- Return to Animations and select that custom style. Owning or equipping individual packages does not necessarily mean the custom style is the one currently selected.
If your player still uses a different animation, check the selected style in Animations. Package eligibility and ownership alone do not select the style for you.
What to check if your player lays the ball up instead
A dunk style does not guarantee a dunk on every attempt. NBA 2K27 includes a manually timed Dunk Meter, according to the official game-mode breakdown. 2K’s August 18, 2026 gameplay announcement describes the meter as “logic-driven.” The available descriptions do not establish that a particular rating or style forces a dunk in every situation.

- Confirm that your build meets all listed package requirements, including Vertical, Standing Dunk, and height where applicable.
- Make sure you purchased and equipped the package, then selected the intended custom style in Animations.
- When attempting a dunk, account for the manually timed Dunk Meter; equipping a package is separate from executing a dunk in gameplay.
Do you need contact dunk ratings specifically?
There is no single Driving Dunk threshold established here for all contact dunk packages. The requirements are package-specific, and the available examples do not provide a complete contact-dunk breakpoint list. Check the current in-game package details or the NBA2KLab requirements table for the exact contact animation you want rather than applying another package’s threshold.

2K’s August 18, 2026 announcement says NBA 2K27 launched worldwide on September 4, 2026 for PS5, Xbox Series X|S, PC via Steam, and Nintendo Switch 2. Platform and edition listings can differ, so confirm the current listing for your platform before purchasing.
