Removing a long list of Windows programs through Settings or Control Panel means repeating the same uninstall process over and over. Bulk Crap Uninstaller (BCUninstaller) is built for that job: it presents installed software in one list, lets you select multiple entries, runs their uninstallers with minimal input, and can look for leftovers afterward.
What BCUninstaller does
Bulk Crap Uninstaller is a free, open-source Windows program uninstaller. Its main advantage is batch removal rather than one-app-at-a-time cleanup. You can review a list of detected applications, select the entries you actually want gone, and start a coordinated uninstall operation.
The project also supports leftover scanning and orphaned-application detection. Those features can identify files or entries that appear to remain after an uninstall, but they are not a promise that every file, registry entry, or service will always be removed. Review proposed cleanup items before accepting them.

It has special support for common uninstall systems including NSIS, InnoSetup and Msiexec. That matters when a PC contains applications installed by different technologies, because their uninstallers may otherwise require separate workflows.
How to uninstall several programs at once
- Install or launch BCUninstaller. Choose the download type that matches your runtime and portability needs, described below.
- Let it populate the application list. Check names, publishers and installation details so you know which entries are genuine targets.
- Select only the programs you intend to remove. Batch tools make it easy to select many items, but selecting a shared component, driver, security product or work-critical application can cause problems.
- Start the batch uninstall. BCUninstaller invokes the relevant uninstallers and may request confirmations or show windows from individual installers. Follow those prompts when required.
- Review leftover suggestions. After the uninstallers finish, inspect any proposed files, folders or registry entries before confirming deletion.
- Restart when Windows or an application requests it. A reboot can be necessary before locked files or pending component changes are completed.
For an important or heavily used computer, make a backup or restore point first. Also save documents and settings belonging to applications you are removing; uninstalling a program does not guarantee that its personal data will be preserved.

Setup, Portable or net: which download should you choose?

For current v6 releases, the stated baseline is Windows 10. Installed v6 builds require the .NET 8 Desktop Runtime, while the full Portable build includes its runtime. Older v5 builds target Windows 7 SP1 or later and use .NET 6, so check the branch and requirements for the version you download rather than assuming v6 requirements apply to an older release.

Use the project’s official GitHub releases page for the current downloads. The README also lists dAppCDN, SourceForge and FossHub as alternative hosts. Verify that the package is the expected BCUninstaller variant and that its requirements match your Windows version.

BCUninstaller is licensed under the Apache 2.0 open-source license. The project says it can be used privately or commercially for free, provided the license conditions are followed. That statement applies to the project; bundled dependencies can have their own licensing terms.
What to check before a batch operation
- Selection accuracy: Similar names can refer to separate versions or components. Sort and inspect the list before confirming.
- Shared dependencies: Removing runtimes, drivers or framework components can affect other programs.
- Store and Windows entries: Treat Store apps and Windows Features as deliberately as desktop software; remove only entries you recognize.
- Unsaved data: Export profiles, project files, licenses or other data before uninstalling.
- Leftover review: Cleanup suggestions are useful leads, not proof that every suggested item is safe to delete.
- Reboot state: If an uninstaller requests a restart, complete it before judging whether the removal succeeded.
Is the project still maintained?
The official releases page shows ongoing v6 activity. Recent release notes mention a Custom Notes feature and fixes including improved handling of Windows error codes. That is evidence of active maintenance, although the project does not promise a fixed release schedule.

When BCUninstaller is the right choice
Use it when you need to remove many applications, clean a recently retired test machine, or manage a PC containing desktop software, Store apps, Steam titles and Windows components in one inventory. For a single ordinary uninstall, Windows’ built-in Settings or Control Panel may be sufficient; BCUninstaller’s value appears when repeated removal, mixed installer types or leftover inspection would otherwise take significant time.
