Undertale does not have a verified conventional list of cheat codes in the sources available here. Its most useful “cheats” are combat know-how and route planning: choose FIGHT, ACT, items, or Spare deliberately, and understand what each route requires before you pursue it. The official game description says you do not have to kill anyone, and that every enemy can be defeated nonviolently.
Are there Undertale cheat codes?
No reliable source cited here establishes a conventional set of cheat codes for Undertale. Rather than rely on unverified button combinations or tricks, use the game’s combat choices and route conditions to shape what happens. The official Undertale website describes a game where players can avoid killing and dodge enemy bullet patterns.

How does combat work?
The manual included with the Undertale Demo describes two broad parts of play: exploring the overworld and fighting encounters. It presents four choices during combat:

- ACT: Choose an interaction with the enemy.
- Item: Use an item.
- Spare: End an encounter without killing when the opportunity is available.
Enemy attacks use bullet patterns that you must dodge. If you want a nonviolent outcome, pay attention to what ACT does and whether Spare becomes available rather than treating every encounter as a damage race. The manual reference is for the Demo; it should not be mistaken for an in-game help menu in the full release.

Which Undertale route should you choose?
The main routes differ in whether you kill monsters, which friendships you complete, and whether you have already finished another route. Route conditions below are drawn from the community-maintained Undertale route reference and a Steam Community routing guide, not an official publisher walkthrough.

How do you get the True Pacifist ending?
- Finish a Neutral route first. The community-maintained route references specify this prerequisite.
- Avoid killing monsters. The cited references describe a no-kill condition for True Pacifist.
- Befriend Papyrus, Undyne, and Alphys. The routing guide names all three friendships as requirements.
- If you missed a friendship, look for a hint after Neutral. The community wiki says Flowey can provide a hint after the Neutral ending if spared.
The exact scene-by-scene steps for befriending each character are not established by the sources cited here, so this guide does not invent a sequence.
How do Genocide route encounter quotas work?
Spoilers: Pursuing this route means deliberately killing monsters and changes later outcomes. A Steam Community guide by BOT AYAYA, updated in 2021, gives the following regional encounter counts:

These are figures from that community guide, not official publisher statistics. The guide advises exhausting a region’s encounters before defeating its boss, because its guidance says encounters in that zone are no longer available afterward. It identifies “But nobody came.” encounter text or a save-point status as signs that encounters have been depleted.

The Undertale Wiki’s community-maintained route reference says that missing route requirements reverts Genocide to Neutral. It also says that after aborting the run, you cannot resume it unless you load a save from before the abort or reset. Treat this as route guidance from the wiki, not an official guarantee.

Major ending spoilers: The community-maintained Undertale Wiki says completing Genocide alters later True Pacifist and Genocide endings, even after a True Reset. For console versions, it says these post-route changes are tied to the profile used to complete the route. Do not assume a reset removes every consequence or that save-file advice for one platform applies to another.
Which platforms and save details matter?
The official Undertale website lists PC, Mac, Linux, PlayStation 4, PS Vita, Nintendo Switch, and Xbox One versions. Its help page says Windows save data is in the local AppData Undertale folder and directs macOS players to a separate guide. It also notes that Linux may require 32-bit libraries. These instructions are platform-specific; consult the official help page for the version you use rather than applying Windows file paths to another system.

The same official help page says there are no current plans to add PS4/Vita borders and achievements to PC/Mac/Linux. Platform features and help information can change, so check the linked page for the current details relevant to your device.
