That search result was crawled four months before the October 7, 2026 research date. It is a lead to investigate, not confirmation that the modem is still available, costs less than $50 today, or works with your provider.
For context, a NETGEAR catalog result crawled three weeks before that research date listed the CM3000 at $299.99. That is not a budget recommendation; it illustrates that the available catalog evidence does not establish a new modem under $50.
Check Best Buy’s cable modem listings for current price, stock, condition, return terms, and included accessories. A price-filter result may include refurbished products, and its price range does not guarantee a current price below your limit.

How to evaluate a candidate under $50
- Find the exact model number. Do not rely on a listing that identifies only a brand or product family.
- Check your provider’s approved list. Confirm the model itself and whether it is approved for your service tier and location.
- Check the total delivered price and condition. Confirm current stock, shipping, whether the unit is refurbished, and what accessories are included.
- Read the return terms. Make sure you can return the device if your provider will not activate it or it does not work with your service.
- Confirm what device you are buying. A modem provides the cable connection; a gateway combines a modem with Wi-Fi. Do not assume a low-cost modem includes wireless networking.
Is the ARRIS SB6190 a safe buy?
It is a model to check, not a confirmed recommendation. The surfaced Best Buy result described a refurbished SB6190, but it does not verify current availability, today’s price, return coverage, or approval for any named ISP, address, or plan. Its DOCSIS 3.0 label and the listing’s price range are not enough to establish that it will deliver suitable speeds on your service.
