Yes—many ULTRALOQ locks work with an iPhone through the manufacturer’s Xthings Home app, formerly called U home. But iPhone app support is not the same as Apple Home or Apple Home Key support: those features depend on the exact lock model and version.
Can I control an ULTRALOQ lock with my iPhone?
ULTRALOQ’s setup guide supports pairing the U-Bolt and Bolt families, as well as UL3, Lever, and UL1/Combo, with an iOS smartphone using the Xthings Home app. The app provides lock settings, user management, and access logs. This is app compatibility; it does not by itself mean the lock can be added to Apple Home or opened with Home Key. ULTRALOQ’s installation guide describes the pairing process.
Pair a supported lock in Xthings Home
- Install Xthings Home on the iPhone and sign in.
- Stand near the lock—ULTRALOQ’s guide says about 3 feet—and choose the exact lock model in the app.
- Scan for the nearby lock and follow the prompts to pair it.
- Set the administrator code when prompted.
Use the model list and instructions shown in the current app for your lock; app pairing alone does not add it to Apple Home.
Which ULTRALOQ locks work with Apple Home or Home Key?
Compatibility is model-specific. ULTRALOQ’s comparison page says, “Only Bolt Fingerprint (HomeKit version) supports Apple HomeKit integration.” The company’s HomeKit FAQ also names Bolt Fingerprint (HomeKit version) and Bolt Fingerprint Matter, while its product homepage describes Bolt NFC as compatible with Apple Home and Apple Home Key. These are distinct product names and versions, so do not infer that every Bolt—or every ULTRALOQ lock—supports the same Apple features. Check the exact model and feature in the product listing and manufacturer documentation before buying. Adding Bolt NFC and Home Key
For the documented Bolt NFC setup, start in the Apple Home app on the iPhone and add the lock by scanning the QR code on the battery cover. Then add Home Key to Wallet. ULTRALOQ says a compatible iPhone or Apple Watch can be tapped to unlock. Follow the instructions for the precise Bolt NFC version; this procedure is not evidence that other ULTRALOQ models support Home Key. Read ULTRALOQ’s Bolt NFC setup instructions.
Does an ULTRALOQ Wi-Fi lock need 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi?
For the U-Bolt WiFi, U-Bolt Pro WiFi, and Latch 5 models covered by ULTRALOQ’s setup instructions, the phone and lock must use the same 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi network during setup; 5 GHz is not supported. This requirement applies to those named Wi-Fi models, not to every lock in the range. ULTRALOQ recommends using the latest Xthings Home app. Its Wi-Fi setup guide also suggests turning off the iPhone’s Bluetooth when testing lock control over Wi-Fi. What to check before choosing a lock
- For iPhone app control: Confirm your exact model appears in the Xthings Home app’s supported setup flow.
- For Apple Home: Look for Apple Home/HomeKit support stated for the exact model and version, rather than relying on the ULTRALOQ name or app compatibility.
- For Home Key: Verify that the listing specifically says Home Key; Apple Home integration alone does not establish Home Key support.
- For Wi-Fi setup: If you are choosing U-Bolt WiFi, U-Bolt Pro WiFi, or Latch 5, make sure a 2.4 GHz network is available.
