Ultimechs’ online multiplayer and its Steam Store listing are both scheduled to end on October 20, 2026. Developer Resolution Games says the VR arena-sports game will remain playable in single-player, and players can continue spending UltiCoins they already bought. The announcement does not give an exact shutdown time or explain what will happen to access, purchases, or reinstalls after delisting.
What changes on October 20?
Resolution Games announced on October 8, 2026 that it will retire Ultimechs’ online multiplayer services on October 20 and delist the game from the Steam Store that day. The announcement does not specify a time or time zone for either change. Resolution Games’ announcement is the source for the shutdown details.
- Online multiplayer: The developer says multiplayer services will end.
- Single-player: Resolution Games says players will still be able to play in single-player after the services end. It has not clarified which specific modes or features will remain available.
- Steam listing: Ultimechs is scheduled to leave the Steam Store on October 20.
- Ultimechs Spectator: The companion app is also scheduled to be delisted and will no longer spectate matches.
Resolution Games put the single-player change plainly: “You’ll still be able to jump into the arena and enjoy Ultimechs in single-player mode after multiplayer services end on October 20, 2026.”
Can you still play Ultimechs after multiplayer ends?
According to the developer, yes: single-player play is expected to remain after October 20. That does not mean every existing mode, feature, or online-dependent function will continue to work; the announcement does not give that level of detail.

Steam describes Ultimechs as a free-to-play game with single-player, online PvP, online co-op, and cross-platform multiplayer features. Those store-listed multiplayer features should not be taken as a promise that online play will survive the shutdown. Steam’s Ultimechs listing also says a VR headset is required.
What happens to UltiCoins and in-app purchases?
Resolution Games says in-app purchases have been disabled ahead of the change. Players who already purchased UltiCoins may still spend them after multiplayer services end. The announcement does not say what items will remain available to buy with those coins in single-player, so it is safest not to assume every existing use will continue unchanged.

Can new players get the game after it leaves Steam?
The Steam Store delisting means the game is scheduled to stop appearing for sale there on October 20. The announcement does not explain whether people who do not already own it can acquire it elsewhere, or how existing owners’ downloads, reinstalls, or entitlements will work after delisting. Do not treat the shutdown notice as confirmation of continued access or future availability on any platform.
What kind of game is Ultimechs?
Ultimechs is a VR arena-sports game from Resolution Games, released on Steam on September 15, 2022. Players pilot mechs and try to score by sending a ball into the opposing goal, striking it with rocket-powered fists called GauntJets. Resolution Games lists Quest devices, PICO devices, and SteamVR among the supported platforms on its official Ultimechs page. Steam’s listed VR-headset requirement applies to its Steam version.

What players should do before the shutdown
- If you already play: Try the single-player experience before October 20 if you want to know which parts of the game matter to you. The developer has not published a detailed list of what remains functional.
- If you have UltiCoins: Spend them before the service change if you are unsure whether the items you want will remain available in single-player. Already purchased coins are stated to remain spendable, but their post-shutdown uses are not fully described.
- If you do not own the game: Do not assume you can acquire it after the Steam delisting; the announcement does not clarify post-delisting availability.
- If you use Ultimechs Spectator: Expect it to be delisted and to stop spectating matches on the announced date.
