Short answer: choose the UGREEN Nexode Pro 160W 4-Port GaN Charger if you need four charging connections and its particular power-allocation scheme suits your devices. Choose the Anker Prime Charger (160W, 3 Ports, Smart Display), model A2687, if three USB-C ports, its display and app-oriented features, or the supported high-rate charging mode for an Anker Prime Power Bank matters more. There is no evidence of a universal performance winner.
The title’s “Anker Prime 150W” wording is shorthand, not the official product identity. Anker names the charger as a 160W model; 150W is a supported single-port mode under specified conditions. UGREEN’s 160W name also covers more than one physical design, so this comparison uses the manufacturer-listed four-port version and keeps the separate retractable-cable model clearly apart.
The two exact products being compared
Model names matter here because both product families use similar wattage language for different configurations. The UGREEN product in the main comparison is the Nexode Pro 160W 4-Port GaN Charger. The Anker product is the Anker Prime Charger (160W, 3 Ports, Smart Display), model A2687. Manufacturer pages and support specifications were accessed in October 2026; the figures below are product claims, not independent laboratory measurements.

What the wattage labels really mean
Total output is a shared budget
A charger’s total-wattage figure describes the maximum power available across its ports, not a promise that every connected device receives that amount. When several devices are attached, the charger’s internal power-allocation rules divide the available budget. A laptop that negotiates a high-power profile can therefore receive less when a phone, tablet or accessory is plugged in.
UGREEN’s cited four-port listing specifies its overall rating and identifies two ports capable of the highest listed individual output. That makes the first two USB-C positions the ones to reserve for a demanding laptop or other high-draw device. The listing does not establish that all four ports can simultaneously operate at their individual maxima.
Anker’s A2687 likewise has a total ceiling that is different from its highest single-port figure. The 150W number is a supported mode for one port, not the charger’s total rating and not the official product name. Treat it as a negotiated profile available when the connected device, cable and charger state all support it.
Why a laptop may not draw the headline figure
USB-C Power Delivery is negotiated between the charger and the device. The laptop requests a profile it understands, then limits intake based on its own firmware, battery state, temperature, workload and charging design. A machine advertised with a high-wattage USB-C input may still choose a lower profile with either charger. The cable also has to be rated for the requested current and power.
For that reason, a higher single-port number is not proof of shorter charging time. It can matter when your particular laptop accepts that profile, but it does not override the laptop’s input limit or the power distribution that occurs after other devices are connected.

Port count and simultaneous charging
When the four-port UGREEN layout is the better fit
If you routinely charge a laptop, phone, tablet, watch, earbuds or another USB device at the same time, a fourth connection can eliminate a separate low-power adapter. The UGREEN listing is explicitly for a four-port model, so it is the logical choice when connection count is your first constraint. Confirm the connector types and regional configuration before ordering; the four-port listing should not be inferred from reviews of another Nexode Pro design.
When Anker’s three USB-C ports are enough
The A2687 is a three-port USB-C charger. That is a clean arrangement for a laptop, phone and tablet when all three devices use USB-C, and it avoids needing a USB-A cable. It is less convenient if you need four devices attached or if one of your everyday accessories still requires a different connector.
Recommended Free Tools
Port count alone does not tell you the power each port will receive during simultaneous use. Before choosing, write down the devices you normally connect together and check the manufacturer’s output-distribution chart for the exact regional model. A charger that has the right number of sockets but reallocates power away from your laptop may be less useful than one with fewer ports and a distribution pattern that matches your routine.
A practical simultaneous-use worksheet
- List the devices you charge together. Record the laptop’s required USB-C input, the phone or tablet’s preferred fast-charge standard, and any low-power accessories.
- Mark the device that must maintain performance while plugged in. This is usually the laptop, a gaming handheld or another device being used under load.
- Reserve the charger’s highest-capability port for that device. On the UGREEN listing, that means one of the two ports identified for the highest individual output.
- Check the multi-port allocation table for the exact SKU. Do not assume the single-port figure remains available after adding two or three devices.
- Choose the model whose remaining ports match your cables. A nominally powerful port is not useful if your daily accessories cannot connect without extra adapters.
Charging protocols and cable requirements
UGREEN’s published protocol coverage
UGREEN’s Nexode Pro family page says the family supports PD, QC, SCP, AFC and PPS, and describes compatibility with modern smartphones, tablets and laptops. It also mentions 45W Samsung Super Fast Charging 2.0. Those are family-level statements; they do not prove that every Nexode Pro variant exposes every protocol at every port or that every device reaches its maximum rate.
For a purchase decision, match the protocol your device actually uses rather than counting protocol names. A laptop normally depends on USB Power Delivery, while some phones select a manufacturer-specific or PPS profile. If your phone’s fastest mode requires a particular protocol, verify that the exact four-port listing supports it on the port you plan to use.

Anker A2687 protocol coverage
Anker’s A2687 support specification lists PD 3.1, PPS 2.0, QC, SCP, UFCS and Anker Protocol. The additional Anker Protocol entry is relevant to compatible Anker devices, but it does not make unrelated phones or laptops charge faster. The device and cable still have to request and carry a matching profile.

Anker describes up to 150W recharging for a compatible Anker Prime Power Bank when AI Mode 2.0 is active and the specified cable is used. The charger does not include that cable, according to Anker. This is a particular accessory-and-mode combination, not a general promise that any power bank will accept 150W from the A2687.
If this use case is your reason for buying the Anker charger, verify four things before checkout: that your power-bank model is one of the compatible Prime versions, that AI Mode 2.0 is available on your device and current firmware, that the cable meets Anker’s stated requirements, and that the feature is offered in your country. A generic USB-C cable can work for ordinary charging yet fail to expose this special profile.
Features and the important UGREEN variant warning
What is established for the A2687
The A2687 is sold as a Smart Display model. Anker also presents app or mode-related controls as part of the product experience. These features can help you inspect charging status or select a supported operating mode, but they do not change the charger’s total electrical limit. If you prefer a screen and Anker’s software-oriented controls, they are legitimate reasons to favor this model even when your raw wattage needs would be met by either charger.
Do not merge the four-port and retractable-cable UGREEN models
UGREEN’s 160W naming covers at least two distinct designs in the material available for this comparison. The manufacturer page used for the main comparison is for the four-port charger. A hands-on Android Central article by Senior Editor–Mobile Harish Jonnalagadda describes a separate Nexode Pro 160W Charger with Retractable Cable.

That reviewed retractable model has a built-in screen, a cable that extends to 70 cm, foldable pins and a layout consisting of three USB-C charging connections—including the built-in cable—and one USB-A port. The article reports that its USB-C1 and retractable connections reach 140W, USB-C2 reaches 100W, and one cited distribution is 65W + 65W + 30W. Those observations belong to the retractable-cable variant and should not be used as specifications for the separate four-port listing.
The retractable cable may be attractive for travel because it removes one loose cable from your bag. It may also be the wrong choice if you need a different cable length, a fourth external connection or the connector arrangement shown on the four-port product page. Check the photographs, port labels and model number rather than relying on “Nexode Pro 160W” alone.

One high-power laptop and a phone
Either model can make sense if the laptop accepts a compatible USB-C Power Delivery profile and the phone uses one of the published charging protocols. The deciding factors are whether you want a third or fourth connection later, which port the laptop must occupy, and whether the Anker-specific power-bank feature has value to you.
Laptop, tablet and phone, all USB-C
The A2687’s three USB-C ports map neatly to this three-device setup. The UGREEN four-port model gives one spare connection, but only matters if its exact port arrangement and multi-device allocation suit your cables and expected loads.

Several devices plus a USB-A accessory
Do not assume the four-port UGREEN charger in the main comparison includes USB-A simply because the separate retractable model does. The evidence identifies the main product as a four-port model but does not establish its connector mix in the cited listing. If a USB-A accessory is essential, verify the product photos and specification table for the exact SKU before buying.

An Anker Prime Power Bank owner
The A2687 is the targeted choice when you specifically want the supported AI Mode 2.0 recharge workflow. It requires the compatible power bank and cable described by Anker, so ordinary USB-C charging capability is not enough to qualify.
Travelers who value an attached cable
The retractable-cable UGREEN review is relevant only if you are considering that separate variant. Its built-in 70 cm cable and foldable pins may reduce packing clutter, but those features do not describe the four-port charger compared in the main table. Verify the variant before treating the review as purchase evidence.
A decision process that avoids the wattage trap
- Identify the exact SKU. Select the UGREEN Nexode Pro 160W 4-Port listing or the Anker A2687 listing, not a search result that combines several similarly named products.
- Count simultaneous connections. Pick four-port UGREEN if you genuinely need four connections and its confirmed connector layout fits; pick three-port Anker if three USB-C devices cover your routine.
- Check the demanding device’s input requirement. Compare your laptop or other high-draw device’s accepted USB-C Power Delivery profiles with the charger’s published port capability.
- Verify cable ratings. Use a cable rated for the requested power. For the Prime Power Bank’s special recharge mode, use the cable specified by Anker; it is not supplied with the charger.
- Review multi-port power allocation. Look at the exact regional listing and decide whether your laptop will retain enough power when the other devices are connected.
- Check regional details. Confirm plug format, electrical input range, connector configuration, stock and firmware-dependent features for your country.
- Choose features only after compatibility. A smart display, app controls or a retractable cable can improve convenience, but they cannot compensate for missing ports or an unsupported charging protocol.
What the available evidence can—and cannot—tell you
The manufacturer pages establish the published output, ports, protocols and dimensions listed above. They do not establish which charger runs cooler, sustains its maximum output longer, charges a particular laptop faster, or has a lower long-term failure rate.

No controlled head-to-head test was available for these exact products. The hands-on article covers the retractable-cable UGREEN variant rather than the four-port model, and it is not a comparison with Anker. Therefore, claims about a measured temperature winner, efficiency winner or universal charging-time winner would go beyond the evidence.
Prices and promotions are also volatile. A current sale price, stock status or regional bundle should be checked at the time you buy rather than inferred from an older listing. The same caution applies to firmware-dependent modes and country-specific plug versions.
Buying checklist
- Confirm the full product name and model number, especially for the UGREEN charger.
- Verify the number and type of ports on the exact regional listing.
- Compare your laptop’s required USB-C Power Delivery profile with the charger’s port specification.
- Check the charger’s power-allocation table for the number of devices you normally connect.
- Use appropriately rated USB-C cables; do not assume every cable supports the highest advertised mode.
- If buying the Anker for Prime Power Bank charging, confirm AI Mode 2.0, compatible hardware and the required cable.
- Confirm plug format, input voltage, dimensions, weight and availability for your country.
- Keep the purchase receipt and model information so support can distinguish the four-port UGREEN unit from the retractable-cable version.
Bottom-line recommendation
Buy the UGREEN Nexode Pro 160W 4-Port when four connections are the deciding requirement and the exact listing’s port layout and power distribution match your devices. Buy the Anker Prime A2687 when three USB-C ports, its Smart Display and related controls, or the conditional Prime Power Bank recharge mode are more valuable than a fourth connection.
If neither special case applies, choose by connector count, simultaneous-load behavior, cable availability and regional SKU—not by the largest number printed on the box. The evidence supports a needs-based choice, not a blanket winner.
