To register as a seller on Udaan, open the official Udaan vendor sign-up route, create a business account, provide the business and tax information requested during onboarding, and complete verification. Once Udaan approves the account, you can create product catalogs, set commercial rules for retailer orders, and use the logistics and payment tools available to that account.
Prepare your business name, contact details, operating address, GSTIN and PAN before you begin. Udaan may also ask for TAN, Udyog Aadhaar, geographical location, an image of the place of business, licenses, or other verification documents. Registration is not an automatic right: Udaan’s Terms of Use say it can verify, approve, suspend, or reject an account and request additional information.
What Udaan seller registration does
Udaan seller registration creates a business account for offering products to retailers through Udaan’s business-to-business marketplace. The seller page describes the process as starting to sell “in a matter of a few clicks,” but the number of screens and documents depends on the information Udaan requests for your business and category.

The registration itself does not promise a particular number of retailer orders, a fixed approval time, or a specific settlement schedule. Treat the account as ready for trade only after Udaan confirms approval and shows the relevant selling features in your account.
Who should register
Udaan registration is intended for a business that wants to sell products to retailers rather than for a casual, one-off consumer listing. Before opening an account, decide which legal entity or proprietorship will own the catalog, invoices, inventory, and tax obligations. The details you submit should describe that same business consistently.
Suitable use cases
- A manufacturer wants to reach retailers without managing every outlet relationship directly.
- A distributor or wholesaler wants to publish an assortment and define order-size and payment rules.
- A brand owner wants a catalog for branded products and a controlled route to retail buyers.
- A business with its own products wants to test retailer demand in selected geographies while using available partner logistics.
Cases requiring extra preparation
- Businesses selling regulated products must obtain the licenses and permissions that apply to those products before offering them.
- Businesses with several locations, tax registrations, or operating entities should decide which information belongs to the Udaan account and be ready to explain any differences during verification.
- Businesses that cannot yet document their identity, address, inventory source, or category permissions should finish that preparation before submitting an application.
Information and documents to prepare
Udaan’s Terms of Use list information that registration may require. “May require” is important: the exact checklist can change by account, business type, location, and product category. Keep clear, current copies of the following information available.

The Terms of Use also place responsibility on the user to obtain the licenses and permissions needed to resell, trade, distribute, or export products. A tax identifier alone does not replace a sector license. If your category is governed by food, medicine, labeling, safety, or other sector rules, verify the applicable requirements before listing products.
How to register as a Udaan seller
The portal’s exact labels can change, so follow the current prompts rather than relying on an old screenshot or a third-party walkthrough. The core sequence is as follows.
- Open the official vendor portal. Start from Udaan’s seller route and open the vendor sign-up option for users who do not yet have an account. Avoid creating duplicate accounts while an earlier application is under review.
- Choose the sign-up path. Select the option for a new vendor or user without an account. Enter the contact details requested on that screen and use a business-controlled phone number or email address where the portal permits one.
- Enter the business profile. Provide the business name, address, operating location, and other profile fields exactly as requested. Keep the spelling and entity name consistent across the form.
- Provide tax and identity information. Enter GSTIN, PAN, and any other identifiers the form requests, such as TAN or Udyog Aadhaar. Review the characters before continuing; an incorrect identifier can delay a verification request.
- Upload or supply verification material. If the portal requests an image of the place of business, licenses, or additional documents, submit legible and current material. Do not upload an unrelated location or a document belonging to a different entity.
- Review declarations and submit. Confirm that the information is truthful and that you have the permissions required for the products you intend to sell. Save any application reference, confirmation message, or email generated by the portal.
- Complete follow-up verification. Udaan may ask for more information or documents after the initial submission. Answer the request through the account or official communication channel and keep a record of the response.
- Wait for the account decision. Udaan’s Terms of Use reserve the right to verify, approve, suspend, or reject an account at its discretion. Do not represent the account as approved until Udaan confirms approval in the portal or its official communication.
What a complete submission looks like
A complete submission has one consistent business identity, readable supporting material, valid contact details, and category permissions that match the products you plan to list. Completion of the form is not the same as approval; the decision remains subject to Udaan’s verification and current policies.

What happens during verification
Verification checks whether the details supplied for the seller account are sufficient for Udaan’s onboarding requirements. The platform can request additional information, so an application that appears complete may still generate a follow-up request.
If Udaan asks for more information
- Compare the request with the information already submitted and provide the missing item rather than opening a second account.
- Use the same legal name, address, tax identifiers, and contact details unless the portal specifically asks for an updated value.
- Submit a clear document or image that shows the requested information without unnecessary alterations.
- Keep a copy of the response and note the date and channel used.
If the account is not approved
The public Terms of Use do not establish a universal reason or appeal timetable for every rejected application. Read the message shown in your account, correct any factual or document issue identified there, and use the official support or contact route presented by Udaan. Do not assume that creating multiple accounts will resolve a verification problem.
If an approved account is suspended
Stop treating the account as available for new trade until Udaan explains the status. Check for outstanding verification requests, category permissions, policy notices, or inaccurate information. Resolve the issue through the official account channel and retain evidence of the correction.
Set up the account after approval
Approval is the point at which the selling tools become relevant. The features Udaan describes are operational controls rather than a guarantee that every retailer will see or order every product.
Create a product catalog
Udaan says sellers can create catalogs for branded products or their own products. Build the catalog around the information a retailer needs to decide whether to order: a correct product identity, the available assortment, the order unit, and the commercial conditions displayed by the account. Keep catalog information aligned with actual inventory and the permissions for the category.

- Basket-size minimum order quantity: the minimum quantity or basket requirement you choose for an order, where the account supports that setting.
- Assortment: the combination of products or variants a retailer can order under the offer.
- Payment terms: the payment conditions shown or agreed through the platform.
Set these rules only after checking the options visible in your approved account. A minimum order that is too high can exclude smaller retailers; a minimum that is too low can make picking, packing, and freight uneconomical. The right choice depends on product dimensions, margins, shelf life, and delivery coverage, none of which is fixed universally by the public seller information.
Use partner logistics where available
Udaan describes partner logistics and shipment visibility for sellers. Check which logistics option, service area, pickup process, packaging requirement, and tracking view your account actually offers. Coverage and service levels can vary by location and current policy, so do not promise a delivery date to a retailer until the order flow provides one.
Understand settlement information
Udaan describes payment settlement through nodal accounts and says faster settlement cycles may be available. The public seller information does not publish one settlement timetable for every seller. Before accepting large orders, read the payment terms and settlement details displayed for your account, including any conditions that affect when funds become available.

How selling to retailers works in practice
Once the account is approved and the catalog is ready, the retailer-facing workflow follows the commercial rules you configured.
- Publish an accurate assortment. List only products you can supply under the stated unit, assortment, and category requirements.
- Set a workable basket rule. Use the available minimum-order setting to group orders in a way your operation can pick and ship reliably.
- State payment conditions clearly. Use the terms supported by the account and make sure your internal team can reconcile them with orders and settlements.
- Process the order through the platform. Follow the order and fulfillment steps shown in the seller account rather than creating an off-platform substitute that loses shipment or payment visibility.
- Monitor shipment status. Use partner logistics tracking where it is provided, and investigate an exception through the applicable support route.
- Reconcile settlement. Match completed orders with the settlement information shown in the account and retain the records needed for your accounting and tax work.
Udaan’s public pages do not guarantee retailer volume. Your reach will depend on the products, pricing, assortment, service area, category eligibility, and the retailers active in your target geography.
Udyam registration is separate from Udaan registration
Udyam is the Government of India’s MSME registration process; it is not the Udaan seller account. The Udyam portal describes MSME registration as “free, paperless and based on self-declaration.” It also states that no documents or proof are required to be uploaded and that PAN and GST-linked details are taken from government databases where applicable.

If you already have Udyam registration, keep its information available where relevant, but still complete Udaan’s own onboarding and verification. Conversely, applying for Udaan does not automatically register the business as an MSME.
Costs, approval time, and commercial terms: what is not published universally
For a sound business decision, separate facts that Udaan publicly describes from terms that must be confirmed in your account.

Udaan’s Terms of Use make the seller responsible for licenses and permissions required to resell, trade, distribute, or export products and for compliance with applicable law. The obligation follows the product and activity, not merely the existence of a marketplace account.
- Food and consumables: verify the food-related permissions, labeling, shelf-life, storage, and traceability rules that apply to your products and location.
- Medicines and health products: confirm the licenses and distribution permissions required for the specific products and jurisdictions involved.
- Branded goods: retain evidence that you are authorized to sell the brand or source the goods lawfully, where applicable.
- Exports or cross-border trade: obtain the permissions and documents required for the destination and product before accepting an export order.
These examples illustrate why category review belongs before catalog publication. They do not replace advice from the relevant regulator or a qualified professional.
Common registration problems and practical fixes
Details do not match
If the business name, address, PAN, GSTIN, or other identifier differs across fields and documents, stop and determine which legal entity the account represents. Correct the form or provide the explanation requested by Udaan rather than submitting conflicting versions.

The requested document is unclear
Retake or rescan the document so the requested text is readable, the image is current, and the file represents the stated place of business. Keep the original available in case Udaan asks for another format.
The category needs a license
Do not publish the affected products while the required permission is missing. Obtain the applicable license, confirm that its holder and address match the seller account, and submit it if Udaan requests verification.
You are waiting without a published deadline
The reviewed official pages do not establish a universal approval-time promise. Check the account for follow-up requests, preserve the application reference, and use Udaan’s official support channel if the portal provides one. Avoid assuming that silence means approval.

Feature availability can vary by account and current policy. Confirm that verification is complete, review the current seller dashboard, and ask Udaan whether the product category or location is eligible for the missing tool.

If you are deciding whether to use Udaan alone or alongside another marketplace, compare the operating terms rather than the headline signup claim. Use the same questions for each platform:
