Two mini PCs can support a code-review workflow that indexes a repository and routes AI requests across machines—but that does not mean the AI loads every file at once or that the computers combine their memory and graphics. Repository indexing finds useful code context; a separate router can send each inference request to one eligible machine running the requested model.
What “reads my whole codebase” means
A code assistant can build an index of a workspace and use it to retrieve relevant context when you ask a question or request a review. That is different from putting every source file into every model prompt. The index helps locate useful material; the model responds using the context supplied for that task.
For example, twinny’s VS Code documentation describes workspace indexing with embeddings, keyword search, and a local reranker. It also documents review of a working tree, a branch, or a GitHub pull request. These are documented capabilities, not confirmation that a particular two-mini-PC setup used twinny or achieved a particular review result. Read twinny’s documentation.

An IDE assistant and a multi-machine inference router address different parts of the workflow. The assistant supplies code context and initiates questions or reviews. A router can direct an inference request to an eligible computer that has the requested model available.

From multiple peripherals to high-resolution displays, everything you need stays within easy reach.
NVIDIA Personal AI Router (PAIR) is one documented example of this routing approach. Compatible machines are paired on a local network, and compatible applications use a local endpoint. PAIR routes each request to an eligible node running a compatible inference engine with the requested model prepared on that node. The setup guide describes installing PAIR on each machine, pairing them, preparing an engine and model, and configuring clients to use the endpoint on the client’s machine. See NVIDIA’s PAIR overview and setup guide.
- One request runs on one node. PAIR does not pool GPU memory, make multiple GPUs act as one larger GPU, or split a model or in-flight request across machines.
- More nodes can serve independent requests. Adding computers can provide additional capacity for separate requests, but does not by itself make an individual request faster.
- Models must be available where they are served. A node needs a compatible running inference engine and the requested model prepared locally to handle that request.
NVIDIA states in its PAIR documentation: “It does not pool GPU memory or make several GPUs act as one larger GPU.”

Choosing a workflow for code review
The right software depends on whether you want feedback while working in an editor or automated review at the pull-request stage. The documented tools below illustrate those different approaches; the available documentation does not establish a comparative benchmark or hands-on evaluation.
| Tool | Documented workflow | Relevant capabilities |
|---|---|---|
| twinny | VS Code coding assistant | Workspace indexing, code search and review of a working tree, branch, or GitHub pull request; can use a model server running locally, on another device, or through a hosted API. |
| Mira | Self-hostable pull-request reviewer | Repository indexing and support for GitHub, GitLab, and Forgejo. Its documentation lists direct native adapters for Ollama and vLLM among planned additions, not established current integrations. |
See twinny’s documentation and Mira’s documentation for their described capabilities.

Check privacy at the model-server boundary
“Local AI” does not guarantee that code stays on your own devices. twinny describes local-first use but also supports hosted APIs. If the assistant sends prompts or retrieved code context to a hosted provider, that information leaves the local machines. Verify which model server the client is configured to use and where that server runs before treating the workflow as local-only.

To assess a build, establish these details for each machine and the software path:
- Whether each computer can run the chosen model with its available memory and graphics resources.
- Which inference engine and model are installed on each node, and whether the router can route requests to those nodes.
- Which repository context is indexed and which review scope is selected—working tree, branch, or pull request, depending on the tool.
- Whether the model endpoint is on a local device or a hosted service, based on the privacy boundary you require.
Without the actual hardware, model, runtime, and measured results, the claim that this arrangement reviews code is plausible as a workflow description, but its performance and review accuracy cannot be established.
