PC Gamer reported the Skytech configuration at Amazon and the MSI Codex R2 at Walmart on October 9, 2026; those are dated deal prices, not confirmation of today’s price or stock. Neither configuration is an automatic winner without knowing how you use your PC.

How should you weigh the CPU against DDR4 or DDR5?
Skytech: higher-tier named CPU, DDR4
The Skytech’s Core i7-14700F is the higher-tier named processor in this pair. That may make it the more appealing starting point if you expect the CPU to do substantial work alongside gaming, such as running demanding applications or heavy multitasking. But the listing comparison supplies no benchmark results, so it does not establish how much faster this PC is in any particular game or workload.
Its 32 GB of DDR4 is the memory generation this configuration ships with. The source does not provide motherboard or memory-slot details, so do not assume a particular upgrade route or compatibility with other parts.

MSI Codex R2: DDR5, lower-tier named CPU
The MSI pairs its Core i5-14400F with 32 GB of DDR5. If having DDR5 in the shipped configuration matters more to you than choosing the higher-tier named CPU, that is its clearest distinction here. The comparison provides no measured gaming or application results to show how the two systems perform against each other, and it does not establish what memory changes the MSI supports.
Which one should you choose?
- Lean toward the Skytech if you value its Core i7-14700F more than DDR5 and are comfortable buying a system configured with DDR4.
- Lean toward the MSI if DDR5 in the box is your priority and the Core i5-14400F is sufficient for your expected use.
- Compare the live listings before deciding if your choice depends on price, availability, or a specific configuration. Retailer offers can change, and the reported deal prices do not confirm current inventory.
Before checkout, confirm that the listing still matches the configuration you want: the exact CPU, 32 GB memory type, RTX 5070, and 1 TB SSD. Check the retailer’s current warranty and return terms directly; no comparison of those terms is established here.
