The Samsung setting behind the recent “four hidden features” tip is One UI Auto Blocker. Samsung phones can reject several diagnostic and service dial codes while Auto Blocker is enabled. Turn it off temporarily, enter the code in the Phone app, use the resulting tool, then turn the protection back on. On phones running One UI 8.5 or later, Auto Blocker is reported to re-enable itself after 30 minutes.
Android Authority’s Pankil Shah documented the process on an unlocked Galaxy S26 on July 10, 2026. Carrier-locked models can still reject individual codes even after Auto Blocker is disabled, so a failed code does not necessarily mean you entered it incorrectly.
What setting unlocks Samsung’s hidden features?
Disable Auto Blocker in One UI before entering Samsung’s service codes. The quickest way to find the control is to open Settings, use the settings search field, and search for “Auto Blocker.” Switch it off only for the diagnostic or utility task you need. Android Authority states: “So before you start entering them, you need to turn off One UI’s Auto Blocker feature.”

After you finish, return to the same control and enable Auto Blocker again. On One UI 8.5 or newer, the feature reportedly turns itself back on after 30 minutes, but you should not rely on the timer if you have finished sooner.

Four codes and what each one does
| Dial code | What appears | Useful for | Important limits |
|---|---|---|---|
*#06# |
IMEI identifier | Carrier support, insurance records, and loss or theft reports | Shows identification information; it does not track a missing phone. |
*67 (United States)*31# (some regions) |
Caller-ID suppression request | Making a call display as Unknown or Private | Carrier and regional support varies; some networks use a different prefix or ignore the request. |
*#0808# |
USB Settings menu | Selecting supported USB connection modes | Available modes depend on the phone’s firmware and carrier configuration. |
*#2663# |
Touchscreen and Wi-Fi firmware menu | Viewing firmware information, TSP FW UPDATE controls, and Wi-Fi-version refresh controls | It is a service menu, not a general settings panel; do not change options without a specific reason. |
1. Check the IMEI with *#06#
Open the Phone app, enter *#06#, and wait for the IMEI display. An IMEI is the handset’s network identifier. Save it with your insurance or purchase records and provide it to your carrier when requested. If the phone is lost or stolen, the IMEI can help a carrier or insurer identify the device, but the code itself does not locate it.
2. Request a private number with *67 or *31#
In the United States, *67 is commonly used before a destination number to request caller-ID blocking for that call. In some regions, *31# serves a similar purpose. The network ultimately decides whether the request is honored, so test it with someone you trust or check your carrier’s documentation. Emergency services, toll-free numbers, and some business systems may handle caller ID differently.

3. Select a USB mode with *#0808#
The USB Settings menu exposes modes supported by the Galaxy firmware. MTP (Media Transfer Protocol) is the mode normally used to browse phone files from a computer. RNDIS is associated with USB tethering, where the phone presents a network connection over USB.

Pick the symptom - the matching free tool is one click away.
For MTP file transfer, connect the phone with a USB-C data cable, not a charge-only cable, and choose the appropriate mode shown by the menu. A computer may still require an unlock confirmation or permission prompt. If no connection appears, try another cable or USB port before changing additional service options.

- FIT EVERYONE IN THE SHOT: Group selfies are easier on your Samsung phone with a wider front camera⁴ that captures more of the scene, so no one gets left out of the moment
4. Inspect touchscreen and Wi-Fi firmware with *#2663#
This code opens a firmware menu containing the TSP FW UPDATE control for the touchscreen and controls that refresh Wi-Fi-version information. It is primarily a troubleshooting and service interface. Record the existing information before changing anything, and use a firmware control only when Samsung support or a repair professional has directed you to do so.
How to try the codes safely
- Confirm the phone is a Samsung Galaxy and note its One UI version under Settings > About phone > Software information.
- Open Settings, search for Auto Blocker, and switch it off temporarily.
- Open the Phone app and enter one code exactly, including the asterisks and hash symbols. Most codes act as soon as the final character is entered; they are not ordinary phone numbers that you call.
- Use only the feature you intended. Do not alter unfamiliar service-menu values.
- Exit the menu and turn Auto Blocker on again. One UI 8.5 or later is reported to restore it automatically after 30 minutes, but manual re-enabling is the safer habit.
Why a code may still fail
- Carrier restrictions: Carrier-locked phones may reject codes even with Auto Blocker disabled. A “connection problem” message can therefore reflect the carrier configuration rather than a typing error.
- Regional dialing rules: Caller-ID prefixes are not universal. The United States commonly uses
*67, while*31#is used in some other regions. - Firmware differences: Menus and supported USB modes vary by Galaxy model, One UI release, and carrier firmware.
- Security setting restored: On One UI 8.5 or later, the 30-minute automatic re-enable can interrupt a longer troubleshooting session. Disable Auto Blocker again only when necessary, then restore it when finished.
Is Auto Blocker the only route to Samsung’s hidden tools?
Not necessarily. The headline’s original source was not located verbatim, and Samsung phones have other less-hidden utilities. Android Authority separately describes enabling Settings > Display > Edge panels > Panels > Tools to reveal tools such as a compass and ruler, along with document-scanning, Wi-Fi inspection, Bixby Vision, and Quick Measure functions. Those are everyday utilities and do not depend on dialing service codes.

Samsung has also described Galaxy wearable features including Smart Lock, Buds Together, Auto Switch, and Hand Wash. Those require compatible wearable hardware or software and are distinct from the four dial-code functions above. If a screenshot or original post identifies a different setting, verify the model and One UI version before applying this Auto Blocker procedure.
