Short answer: MythicOwl, the developer of Truckful, says the game holds a steady 60 frames per second on high settings through most of the game on Steam Deck. That is a developer-reported result, not an independently reproduced benchmark, and it is not a promise of a locked 60 fps in every scene.
The same developer says adjustable quality settings are available for Linux handhelds that struggle. Steam’s official Deck Verified rating was still pending in MythicOwl’s October 6, 2026 update, and there is no reliable Truckful-specific test showing whether an ROG Ally, Lenovo Legion Go, or another handheld runs it faster than Steam Deck.
What the latest Steam Deck result actually says
MythicOwl has tested Truckful on Steam Deck since announcing the game in 2024. The studio also demonstrated builds on the device at PAX East and PAX West. In its October 6, 2026 update, it reported “Truckful maintaining a steady 60fps on high settings throughout most of the game!”

- It is a developer statement. No independent test protocol, frame-time graph, hardware configuration, or scene-by-scene results were published with the claim.
- “Most of the game” is not “every scene.” The statement leaves room for heavier areas, loading transitions, or unusual situations to run below 60 fps.
- High settings are the stated target. The report does not say that every graphics option is fixed at its maximum value or that the frame rate remains locked during all effects-heavy moments.
For a Deck owner, this is still a strong signal: the studio is targeting a 60-fps experience rather than treating 30 fps as the normal ceiling. Treat the number as the current expectation from the developer, not as a laboratory guarantee.

Is Truckful officially Deck Verified?
Not according to MythicOwl’s October 6 update. The developer said it was still waiting for Steam’s official green tick. Earlier, its September 22 FAQ said the team was aiming for Verified at launch, but an aim is not an awarded rating.
Valve’s Deck Verified system evaluates compatibility and usability. Its categories include whether the game operates cleanly, whether controller navigation works, and whether Proton or system components support the title properly. A Verified badge is therefore a useful compatibility signal, but it is not a Truckful-specific frame-rate certificate. Even a Verified game is not guaranteed to run at a particular FPS in every location.
Steam’s compatibility status can change after a game update or a review by Valve. If you are deciding whether to buy or install Truckful after October 2026, check the current compatibility section on the game’s Steam listing rather than relying on the developer’s earlier target.

The September 22 FAQ described Truckful as optimized for Linux-based handhelds, including Steam Deck. At that point, the team forecast “+40/60fps during most scenes.” The October 6 report is newer and more direct, so it should carry more weight than the earlier forecast.
MythicOwl also said that 30 fps at high detail should be achievable on the published minimum PC specifications. That is an expectation for a lower-end PC configuration, not a measured result for every handheld. It does, however, explain why the game includes adjustable quality settings: a device that cannot sustain the Deck report’s high-setting target can trade visual quality for steadier performance.

Steam Deck versus other handheld PCs
No usable, Truckful-specific comparison test was published for the ROG Ally, Lenovo Legion Go, or other named handheld PCs in the available source material. You should not rank those systems against Steam Deck for this game by borrowing benchmarks from unrelated titles or by comparing specifications alone.
| Handheld or category | What is established for Truckful | What you should not assume |
|---|---|---|
| Steam Deck | MythicOwl reports steady 60 fps on high settings through most of the game. | A locked 60 fps in every scene or an independently verified result. |
| Steam Deck LCD and OLED | Valve’s support guidance covers both display models; MythicOwl did not separate its performance report by model. | That OLED runs Truckful faster than LCD. |
| ROG Ally running SteamOS | A Steam community FAQ says a Linux handheld such as an ROG Ally using SteamOS “should be 100% good to go.” | A Truckful frame-rate result, a Windows-versus-SteamOS comparison, or superiority over Deck. |
| Lenovo Legion Go | No Truckful-specific result was established. | That its higher-resolution display or different power profile produces a higher Truckful frame rate. |
| Other Linux handhelds | The developer says quality controls are available for Linux devices that struggle. | That every Linux handheld reaches the reported Deck performance. |
The fairest conclusion is that Steam Deck is the only handheld with a published, game-specific performance statement from the developer. Other devices may be technically capable candidates, but that is an inference from compatibility expectations, not a measurement.

LCD versus OLED Steam Deck
Valve’s Steam Deck support guidance applies to both LCD and OLED models. MythicOwl’s 60-fps statement does not identify a display model, processor revision, power setting, or storage configuration. There is consequently no evidence in the developer’s report that the OLED version runs Truckful faster.
The two models can present the same game differently because of their screens and battery characteristics, but those general hardware differences should not be turned into a Truckful performance claim. Choose between LCD and OLED for the features that matter to you—such as display characteristics, battery behavior, or price and availability—not because one has been shown to deliver a higher Truckful frame rate.
Published PC minimum requirements
The indexed Steam listing gives these minimum requirements for the PC version:

- Operating System: SteamOS 3.0
| Requirement | Published minimum |
|---|---|
| Operating system | Windows 10 64-bit |
| Processor | 64-bit processor |
| Memory | 4 GB RAM |
| Graphics | Graphics card with 2 GB VRAM; the listing names GeForce 900 series and above |
| Graphics API | DirectX 10 |
| Storage | 2 GB available space |
These are minimum PC requirements, not handheld presets. They do not establish a recommended configuration, a Steam Deck-equivalent specification, or a guaranteed frame rate. The listing did not provide separate recommended requirements.
How to set expectations before you buy or install
- Check the current Steam compatibility section. Look for the live Deck rating and any notes about controller input, text legibility, launcher behavior, or Proton. The October 6 developer post said the official rating was still pending, so an older store page may not match the current status.
- Start with the developer’s stated target. On Steam Deck, begin at the game’s high-quality preset if available. The relevant expectation is steady 60 fps through most gameplay, not a guaranteed lock everywhere.
- Test more than the opening area. Play long enough to reach different environments and effects. “Most of the game” implies that performance can vary by scene.
- Use the quality controls if the frame rate falls. MythicOwl specifically says lower-end Linux devices have adjustable quality settings. Reduce the most demanding visual options first, then retest the same area.
- Decide whether consistency or image quality matters more. A stable 30 fps at high detail may be preferable to frequent swings around 60 fps. The developer’s earlier FAQ says 30 fps at high detail should be achievable on the listed minimum PC specifications, but that remains an expectation rather than a universal handheld result.
What to do if performance is below expectation
Check whether the issue is scene-specific
A dip in one busy area does not disprove the developer’s “most of the game” wording. Compare several locations and note whether the slowdown is repeatable. If only one type of scene is affected, use a quality setting that reduces visual load while keeping the rest of the presentation intact.
Lower quality before drawing conclusions about the hardware
The presence of adjustable quality settings is important for Linux handhelds. If high settings are unstable, step down gradually rather than treating the device as incompatible. Record whether the change improves frame pacing as well as the displayed FPS.
Separate compatibility problems from performance limits
A game that launches, accepts controller input, and renders correctly can still miss a desired frame rate. Conversely, a performance issue does not by itself mean the game will fail Valve’s compatibility criteria. Deck Verified and FPS are related concerns, but they are not the same test.
Recheck after updates
Truckful’s performance and Steam’s compatibility label can change as the game and Proton receive updates. If your experience conflicts with the developer’s current statement, verify that the game is updated and review the latest Steam status before concluding that your handheld cannot run it well.

- Valve is entering the gaming console marketplace with the new Steam Deck, a console geared towards PC gamers. The Steam Deck can be docked to a monitor, and used as a PC, or docked to a TV.
- Players can play a huge variety of games at any time with the comfort of a console and the freedom of a PC. Not anti-glare screen.
- Like the name suggests, the Steam Deck will include upgraded 1TB storage, and will include a carrying case. A micro SD slot will also enable expanded storage.
- Valve partnered with AMD to create a specialized APU optimized for handheld gaming, and Valve says the chip will deliver performance to run AAA gaming titles.
- The Steam Deck is outfitted with a 7-inch touchscreen, and two trackpads under the control sticks that allow gamers to operate games never designed outside of mouse and keyboard capabilities.
How to interpret the comparison in practical buying terms
If you already own a Steam Deck, the evidence supports trying Truckful with a reasonable expectation of high-setting performance around 60 fps for most gameplay. You may still need to reduce quality in demanding scenes.
If you are choosing among handheld PCs specifically for Truckful, the evidence does not support paying more for an ROG Ally, Legion Go, or another model on the assumption that it will produce a higher Truckful frame rate. Consider those systems using general factors—operating system and Proton behavior, screen resolution, available power profiles, controls, ergonomics, and battery priorities—then treat Truckful performance as unconfirmed until a device-specific test or official statement appears.
A Linux handheld that meets the game’s optimization target is a plausible candidate, but “plausible” is not the same as measured. The only published game-specific number in the current record is MythicOwl’s Steam Deck claim.
Bottom line for Steam Deck owners
Truckful currently looks promising on Steam Deck: MythicOwl’s latest statement is steady 60 fps on high settings through most of the game, with lower quality options for weaker Linux devices. The claim is promotional and developer-reported, not an independent benchmark. The official Deck Verified badge was still pending on October 6, 2026, and no evidence establishes a Truckful performance winner among Steam Deck, ROG Ally, Legion Go, or other handheld PCs.
Use the Deck result as a practical starting expectation, check Steam’s live compatibility status, and keep the in-game quality controls available as a fallback when a particular scene proves heavier than the average.
