Triveni Engineering & Industries Limited’s FY2024–25 filing reports cash flow for the company as a whole, not for its Power Transmission business separately. It shows ₹1,537 million in net cash from operating activities and ₹4,546.6 million used in investing activities. The filing does report Power Transmission revenue and segment result, but those are not cash-flow figures.
Which entity do the financial statements cover?
The FY2024–25 figures below come from Triveni Engineering & Industries Limited’s (TEIL) audited standalone financial results for the year ended 31 March 2025. The filing uses an indirect cash-flow statement and reports amounts in actual Indian rupees. It does not provide a separate cash-flow statement for the Power Transmission segment.
That distinction matters: segment revenue and segment result describe business performance, while the cash-flow statement records cash movements at the standalone company level. Neither should be treated as a standalone cash-flow result for Triveni Power Transmission.

TEIL reported ₹1,537 million in net cash from operating activities. The statement starts with profit before tax of ₹3,376.4 million, then adjusts for non-cash and working-capital items before taxes paid.
#1 Best Overall
| Standalone cash-flow item | FY2024–25 amount | How to read it |
|---|---|---|
| Profit before tax | ₹3,376.4 million | Starting point in the indirect cash-flow statement |
| Increase in inventories | ₹1,444.1 million negative adjustment | Cash tied up in higher inventory |
| Increase in current trade receivables | ₹1,766.3 million negative adjustment | Sales not yet collected in cash |
| Increase in current trade payables | ₹477.4 million positive adjustment | Supplier balances provided a partial offset |
| Net cash from operations before income taxes | ₹2,352.4 million | Operating cash after the statement’s adjustments, before taxes paid |
| Income taxes paid | ₹815.4 million | Cash tax outflow |
| Net cash from operating activities | ₹1,537 million | Reported operating cash after taxes |
The working-capital movements help explain why operating cash was lower than profit before tax. Higher inventory and receivables reduced cash available during the period; the increase in payables offset part of that effect. These figures alone do not establish why balances changed or whether the movements were temporary.
Why was investing cash flow negative?
TEIL reported net cash used in investing activities of ₹4,546.6 million for FY2024–25. The filing lists major outflows including property, plant and equipment purchases, advances and loans, and payments to acquire interests in joint ventures.
Rank #2
| Investing outflow | FY2024–25 amount | Reporting scope |
|---|---|---|
| Purchases of property, plant and equipment | ₹2,844 million | TEIL standalone company-level cash flow |
| Advances and loans to other parties | ₹1,295 million | TEIL standalone company-level cash flow |
| Payments to acquire interests in joint ventures | ₹511.6 million | TEIL standalone company-level cash flow |
These are company-level investing figures. The filing does not identify all of them as spending by Power Transmission, so they should not be presented as that segment’s capital expenditure. Investing outflows are also distinct from operating cash: they reflect investment-related payments rather than the operating-cash subtotal.
How does Power Transmission’s segment performance fit in?
The same FY2024–25 filing reports Power Transmission revenue of ₹3,698.9 million and segment result before tax and interest of ₹1,268 million. Those amounts provide context about the segment’s reported business performance, but the filing does not publish a segment cash-flow statement. They cannot be used to calculate Power Transmission’s operating cash flow or cash conversion.
Rank #3
For company-wide context, TEIL’s FY2024–25 standalone revenue from operations was ₹66,554 million and profit before tax was ₹3,376.4 million. These company totals and the segment’s revenue and result have different scopes; they should not be compared as though they were equivalent cash-flow measures.

TEIL’s audited FY2025–26 results summary reports consolidated revenue from operations of ₹7,620.85 crore and net profit after tax of ₹268.71 crore. It says the composite scheme was approved by the National Company Law Tribunal and the Power Transmission undertaking vested in Triveni Power Transmission Limited (TPTL) from the appointed date of 1 April 2026. These are consolidated results and a demerger update, not a detailed cash-flow statement for TPTL.
Rank #4
The FY2025–26 summary also notes that the current year’s results include Sir Shadi Lal Enterprises from 21 June 2024. That inclusion means a year-on-year consolidated comparison is not fully like-for-like. The company’s investor-relations page lists Q1 FY2027 company-wide highlights—net-of-excise revenue from operations of ₹1,581 crore, EBITDA of ₹63 crore, and PAT of ₹4 crore—but these are not Power Transmission-only figures.

Quick Recap
How to compare cash-flow figures responsibly
- Check whether a figure is standalone TEIL, consolidated TEIL, or a segment measure.
- Compare operating cash with profit only after accounting for working-capital changes and taxes.
- Keep investing outflows separate from operating cash and do not assign company-level investment spending to Power Transmission without a segment disclosure.
- When comparing periods around the demerger, account for the 1 April 2026 appointed date and any changes in the reporting entity or consolidation scope.
