Trello Standard is usually enough if your team needs unlimited boards and stronger everyday workflow tools. Premium costs more, but adds multiple board and Workspace views, unlimited Workspace command runs, and additional administration and security features. The main decision is whether those Premium-only capabilities solve a real need for your team.
How much do Trello Standard and Premium cost?
Trello’s pricing page lists these USD rates, observed on October 7, 2026. Prices can change, so check the linked page before subscribing. Annual billing is paid in advance.

These are per-user rates, so your cost depends on the Workspace’s billable headcount as well as the billing cadence. Trello counts Workspace members, including team admins, as billable on Standard and Premium. A guest who can access more than one board in a Workspace is a Multi-Board Guest and is billed at the same rate as a member. Review Trello’s pricing page for current details.
What does Standard include?
Standard includes Free features and adds tools for teams that have outgrown basic board workflows. It already provides unlimited boards, so upgrading to Premium is not necessary just to create more than 10 boards.

Which plan fits your team?
Choose Standard if board-based work is enough
Standard is the more economical fit when unlimited boards, custom fields, advanced checklists, Planner, and the included automation capacity meet your team’s needs. It is also the relevant choice if you do not need Premium’s additional views or administration and security capabilities.

Consider Premium if you need its specific additions
Premium is easier to justify when your team will use Calendar, Timeline, Table, Dashboard, or Map views; needs Table or Calendar views across a Workspace; expects to exceed Standard’s monthly command-run allowance; or requires the listed admin, security, export, template, or collection features.
To compare costs, multiply the applicable per-user rate by the billable members and multi-board guests in the Workspace. For example, the listed annual-billing rates make Premium $5 more per user per month than Standard; the monthly-billing rates make it $6.50 more. Those differences are per user, not per Workspace.

Trello advertises a free 14-day Premium trial for a Workspace. Check the current trial terms and eligibility on Trello’s Premium page before starting it.

After that period, it becomes a Free Workspace, which can hold 10 boards. Check the current terms before changing plans, particularly if the Workspace has more boards or relies on Premium features.
