Upgrade dependable damage first: take the available damage node in the skill tree, roll a useful Power enchant at the lobby enchant area, and spend trait rerolls only on a weapon you expect to keep. Once ordinary enemies die reliably and you are surviving bosses, add critical chance; if boss hits still end runs, defense is the better investment. This order comes from recent independent community guides, not an official balance ranking, and the live game interface should decide the current costs and effects.
First, make sure you are playing the right Anime Zero
The name is easy to misidentify. The guides discussed here refer to the Roblox experience made by LY*, place ID 114574503491412, in universe 10512942223. An older experience with a similar name is a different game. Before spending rerolls or enchant resources, check the developer name, place information, and the interface in your client. A guide written for the other experience may describe completely different weapons, currencies, or upgrade menus.
All recommendations below are based on independent fan guides dated October 5 and October 10. They are useful descriptions of the current community understanding, but they are not developer documentation. Exact modifier percentages, roll probabilities, and costs were not established by those guides.

Players sometimes use “trait” and “enchant” as if they mean the same thing. In the current guides, they are two different actions reached through different interfaces.

The terms can still vary between guides and game updates. Use the menu label and the effect shown in your client rather than assuming that a trait is an enchant or vice versa.
The practical upgrade order
1. Fix the bottleneck before rerolling anything
Run the content you are trying to clear and identify the first failure point. If normal rooms take too long but you rarely die, your problem is damage. If a boss kills you before you can finish it, defense, positioning, or movement may matter more than another offensive roll. This diagnosis determines whether the next resource belongs in a skill node, an enchant, or a defensive option.
- Slow clears with comfortable health: prioritize the damage skill node and a useful Power enchant.
- Boss deaths despite adequate room clear speed: take defense first and improve movement or positioning where available.
- Reliable clears but inconsistent damage spikes: add critical chance after the basic damage upgrades are in place.
- Temporary or frequently replaced weapon: avoid expensive trait chasing.
2. Take the available damage skill-tree upgrade
The skill guide’s early recommendation is to spend the first meaningful skill-tree investment on damage. A permanent damage improvement helps every run with the weapon you are using and does not depend on landing a particular trait roll. Do not delay a clear improvement while waiting for an ideal weapon modifier.

3. Roll a useful Power enchant
The enchant guide identifies Power as the early damage choice. Roll until you have an adequate, usable result rather than treating the first weapon as a reason to pursue a perfect late-game roll. A serviceable Power enchant can improve progression immediately; the guide recommends moving on once the early roll is good enough and saving named late-game enchant hunting for later farming.
Because the exact effect and cost are not published in the reviewed sources, compare the live preview and your remaining currency before accepting a roll. Do not assume that a value from an older video or a different game version still applies.

4. Concentrate on the weapon that performs consistently
The trait and skill guides describe two weapon slots. Equipping both gives flexibility, but the skill recommendation is to concentrate early spending on the weapon that clears reliably instead of dividing scarce resources across every option. A second slot can remain useful as a backup, for a different range or attack pattern, without receiving the same level of reroll investment.
Choose the “keeper” weapon by actual performance: it should clear your current rooms without repeated failures and remain useful for the next progression step. A rare-looking modifier on a weak or temporary weapon is not a reason to redirect all resources to it.
5. Use trait rerolls only after choosing the keeper
A trait reroll is tied to a weapon. The October 5 guide says the reroll affects the currently equipped weapon, while the current guide also describes auto-reroll and a trait-pity interface. Those controls make it even more important to verify the selected weapon and the confirmation text before spending. If the weapon is likely to be replaced soon, preserve the rerolls.
Trait quality should fit the build. A modifier that helps farming or utility may not be the best choice for a damage-focused weapon, and a nominally strong roll is less valuable if it does not solve your current bottleneck.
6. Add critical chance when survival is already comfortable
Critical chance is the next offensive direction once basic damage is sufficient and you can survive normal mistakes. It is a damage amplifier, so its practical value depends on having enough uptime to attack. If you are losing runs to boss hits, critical chance postpones the real solution; take defense first.
7. Reserve perfectionist enchant hunting for later
After your first Story clears and early farming goals, you can decide whether the cost of chasing a named or especially strong enchant is justified. The enchant guide separates this late-game farming phase from the beginner recommendation. Do not spend early resources on a theoretical endgame roll when a usable Power enchant would let you unlock more content now.

Traits versus enchants: how to choose the next resource

How to reroll a trait safely
- Equip the weapon you intend to modify. Do not rely on the inventory highlight alone if the game distinguishes equipped and selected items.
- Open the trait interface. Check the weapon name, icon, and current modifier shown in the panel.
- Review the displayed reroll cost and outcome rules. The reviewed guides do not establish a universal current cost, so use the live value.
- Decide whether a normal reroll or auto-reroll is appropriate. Auto-reroll can consume resources quickly; set a stopping condition before enabling it.
- Check any pity indicator. The current guide mentions a trait-pity interface, but its exact threshold and reward are not established in the available material.
- Confirm the result on the same weapon. Leave the menu only after verifying that the desired modifier is attached to the keeper and that the resource balance is what you expect.
Never test an unfamiliar reroll control on a disposable item if the interface does not clearly explain whether the result replaces the current modifier. Treat every confirmation as permanent until the game shows otherwise.
How to use the lobby enchant area
- Return to the lobby and locate the enchant area. Enchants are described as a lobby action, not the same menu used for traits.
- Select the intended weapon or enchant target. Match the displayed item to the one you are building around.
- Read the roll preview. Look for the modifier name and current effect shown by the game; do not substitute percentages copied from an old guide.
- Choose Power for an early damage build. Stop when the result is adequate for your current progression rather than spending everything on perfection.
- Record what changed. Reopen the weapon details after the roll so you know which system produced the modifier.
If the enchant area shows a different label or a different set of effects after an update, follow the current in-game description. The community recommendation is directional, not a guarantee that every version has identical rolls.
Skill-tree choices beyond the first damage node
Damage
Damage is the default first investment because it improves clear speed and helps you reach later content. It is the most broadly useful choice when deaths are rare and enemies simply take too long to defeat.

Critical chance
Critical chance becomes more attractive after damage basics are covered and your character can remain alive long enough to attack. Treat it as a follow-up offensive choice, not a substitute for a missing foundational damage node.
Defense
Defense is the correct response when boss damage or repeated mistakes prevent clears. A defensive point that lets you survive an additional attack can produce more total damage during a run than an offensive point that you cannot exploit because the run ends early.
Movement speed
Movement speed can help with positioning and room clears. It is situational: choose it when dodging, grouping enemies, or reaching objectives is the problem, rather than buying it automatically ahead of damage or defense.

These stages are progression categories used by the guides, not a claim that every player reaches them at the same pace. Your own bottleneck should override the schedule.

Common mistakes and how to recover
Spending on the wrong weapon
Symptom: the trait screen shows a different item than the one you meant to improve, or your best modifier appears on a weapon you no longer use.
Fix: equip the intended weapon, verify its name and icon in the trait panel, and perform a single manual action before considering auto-reroll. Keep the second slot as a backup rather than moving all resources immediately.
Chasing a perfect early roll
Symptom: you have consumed rerolls or enchant currency but still cannot clear the next stage.
Fix: stop rerolling, take the available damage node, and accept an adequate Power result. Rebuild your reserve before attempting late-game optimization.
Using critical chance while dying to bosses
Symptom: room clear speed is acceptable, but a boss ends nearly every run.

Fix: switch the next skill investment to defense and address movement or positioning. Return to critical chance only after you can survive the encounter consistently.
Assuming a guide’s numbers are official
Symptom: the percentage, price, or pity expectation in a video or post does not match your client.
Fix: trust the current in-game panel, note the date and mode shown, and treat fan-guide values as update-sensitive. The reviewed sources do not provide developer-published exact values for all traits and enchants.
Confusing an older similarly named experience with this one
Symptom: menus, weapons, or upgrade names do not resemble the guide.
Fix: leave the guide’s assumptions behind and verify the Roblox place, universe, and developer before spending anything. The experience identified here is place 114574503491412, universe 10512942223, by LY*.
What the available evidence can—and cannot—tell you
