Offline tools can organize parts of CTF and OSCP workflows, but the available project descriptions do not establish one validated tool that unifies challenge tracking, curriculum completion, and event scoring. Cryptea focuses on CTF challenge records; RedConsole is an offline-first operational console with progress features. Platform-native tools cover other needs, such as HTB Academy course completion and TryHackMe event scoreboards.
What an offline tracker can—and cannot—unify
“Progress” can mean several different things in cybersecurity training. A challenge tracker records boxes or CTF tasks and related notes. A curriculum tracker records lessons and modules. An event scoreboard records points and standings. An engagement console organizes operational details such as findings and variables.
The documented tools below address different slices of that work. Their feature descriptions come from project or platform documentation, not independent testing, so treat them as claims to verify rather than as a comparative performance assessment.
- Challenge and box progress: status, categorization, notes, and challenge-pack handling.
- Study progress: completed lessons, modules, or paths.
- Event progress: scores and standings during an organized CTF.
- Engagement workflow: notes, findings, variables, and other operational records.
Offline project options
Cryptea: CTF challenge management
The Cryptea repository describes a desktop application for offline CTF challenge management using local SQLite storage. Its listed features include challenge status tracking, notes, categorization, search and filtering, and challenge-pack import and export. Those claims make it relevant if your main need is to keep challenge records and notes locally; they do not establish a complete OSCP study-plan tracker or an independent security audit.

RedConsole: an offline-first engagement console
The RedConsole repository describes a single HTML file aimed at OSCP/OSEP preparation and CTF or HTB engagements. It says notes, findings, variables, and progress are stored in browser local storage. Its operational-console focus may help organize an engagement, but that is not the same as tracking every lesson in a course or providing a complete learning curriculum.
Both projects describe local-first or offline use, but the available descriptions do not independently establish how well they work without a network connection, how robust their exports are, or how they handle security and maintenance. Review the current repository, license, release history, and storage behavior before relying on either for important records.

When platform-native tracking is a better fit
HTB Academy: module and path completion
HTB Academy’s completion documentation says learners can mark sections complete. Academy also offers a transcript listing successfully completed modules and paths. This is platform-specific learning progress, not a universal tracker for external CTFs or other platforms.

TryHackMe’s CTF builder documentation describes event setup, challenge selection, a scoreboard, and progress visibility for business and education events. That supports event administration and participant scorekeeping; it is not evidence of a personal offline progress tracker.

Keep progress notes separate from live challenge access
An offline log can record what you have attempted, learned, or need to revisit, but it does not provide access to a live challenge environment. HTB’s CTF user guide describes flag submission for points and network-access paths such as VPN or Pwnbox for machine categories. Treat the tracker as a record-keeping layer, separate from the infrastructure needed to participate.

Before adopting a tool, decide what “done” means in your workflow. For an individual CTF challenge, that might mean solved, attempted, or revisited; for a course, it might mean a section or module completed. Keeping those definitions explicit makes records easier to interpret when you move between platforms.

- Match the unit of progress: Confirm whether you need lessons, boxes, challenge tasks, event points, or engagement steps.
- Verify offline behavior: Check whether the tool still works without network access and where it stores data.
- Check portability: Look for a usable export or backup path for notes and records.
- Assess platform and exam fit: Confirm that the workflow matches the specific sites, labs, and exam preparation you use.
- Review project health: Inspect the current maintenance activity, license, and security practices before entering sensitive notes.
If you use several platforms, a practical setup may combine a local challenge or engagement log with each platform’s own completion or event features. That is a combination of distinct tools, not evidence that a single offline product currently covers every form of CTF and OSCP progress.
