Verdict: Toy Story 3 Complete Edition is worth considering on PS5 if you want the original console movie tie-in, local co-op and the replayable Toy Box sandbox in a convenient modern release. It is not a remake. Digital Eclipse and Atari have restored previously restricted content and improved the presentation, but the short campaign, dated assets and occasionally awkward controls remain recognisably from 2010.
What Toy Story 3 Complete Edition is
The PlayStation Store describes Toy Story 3 Complete Edition as a 3D adventure based on Pixar’s 2010 film. You play as Woody, Buzz Lightyear and Jessie across film-inspired stages, then build and customise a Wild West town in Toy Box Mode (also called Woody’s Roundup). Atari is the publisher, and Digital Eclipse is credited as the developer and remaster developer.
The PS5 release is listed for 15 October 2026. Lords of Gaming reports a $24.99 MSRP, while Creative Bloq lists digital pricing of $24.99 in the United States and £22.49 in the United Kingdom. Creative Bloq also reports a $49.99/£39.99 physical double pack, but its report does not establish a PS5 physical SKU.

This is best understood as a polished port with restored extras, not a ground-up remake. The PS5 version raises output to as high as 4K and 60fps, making the game cleaner and smoother on a current display. It does not rebuild the levels, replace the underlying mechanics or add a new campaign.

- Read Before You Buy — No Video Output: These adapters support charging and USB 2.0 data transfer, but cannot transmit video signals. Except for standard USB webcams (which use USB data only), they are not compatible with HDMI/DisplayPort cables, video-capable USB-C hubs, or docking stations with video output.
- Convert USB-A Ports to USB-C: Designed to connect USB-C earphones, cables, flash drives, card readers, and other USB-C accessories to standard USB-A ports. Plug-and-play with no drivers or software required.
- Aluminum Alloy Housing: Built with a sturdy aluminum alloy shell that aids in heat dissipation and protects against daily wear and scratches. Designed to maintain a stable and secure connection.
- Compact & Travel-Friendly: The ultra-compact design allows the adapter to stay plugged into your device without blocking adjacent ports or adding bulk, reducing wear and tear on your original USB ports.
- 12-Month Warranty: Backed by a 12-month manufacturer warranty for peace of mind. Designed to meet strict quality control standards for reliable everyday performance.
WGB reviewer Baden Ronie characterised it as the 2010 console adventure with restricted content folded in and a simple graphical upgrade. Lords of Gaming likewise described it as little more than a port with improved visuals and resolution. Those descriptions set the right expectation: convenience and presentation are the main upgrades.
What Complete Edition adds
- Playable Emperor Zurg: Zurg is available in Toy Box Mode, restoring content that was limited to certain earlier versions.
- Four additional theme packs: These expand the customisation options for the Toy Box town.
- Modern output: The PS5 build supports output up to 4K and 60fps, depending on display and settings.
The package does not appear to include a museum-style archive, extensive behind-the-scenes material or a large set of new mechanics. If archival extras are your priority, a separate collection such as Toy Story: Retro Roundup! is the more relevant option.

Story Mode: short, varied and character-driven
Story Mode follows the film’s world through eight levels, according to Lords of Gaming. The stages are relatively short, but they avoid feeling identical by mixing several formats:
- Platforming and traversal through movie-inspired locations
- Stealth and action sequences
- Shooting sections
- Racing segments
- Minigames and set pieces
Each character changes how you approach a stage. Woody swings with his pull string, Buzz relies on strength and flight, and Jessie specialises in precise landings. Those abilities provide useful variety even when the underlying platforming remains simple.

The campaign’s length is its clearest limitation. It is better suited to a few focused sessions than to a long-form action-adventure commitment. Families and fans may appreciate the brisk pacing; players expecting a substantial new PS5 campaign will likely find it slight.
Toy Box is the reason to keep playing
Toy Box is a Wild West sandbox rather than a second linear campaign. You accept missions, earn coins, unlock buildings and toys, customise the town and change the outfits of its residents. The progression loop is easy to understand: complete activities, collect currency, then use those rewards to make the settlement more personal and more capable.

- Please Note: To reach 10Gbps speed, keep the cable under 3.3 ft. For USB A Male to USB C adapters, try flipping the USB C connector. USB C Male to USB A adapters support bidirectional 10Gbps transfer within 3.3 ft
That structure gives the game more staying power than Story Mode alone. Reviews from WGB, Creative Bloq and Lords of Gaming consistently identify Toy Box as the strongest and most replayable part of the package. It is also where the restored Zurg content and four theme packs matter most, because they feed directly into experimentation and town decoration.
Co-op and family play
Local two-player co-op is supported in both Story Mode and Toy Box Mode. This is couch multiplayer on one console rather than an online-service feature. The option makes the release more appealing for families or friends who want to revisit the film’s characters together, although the same camera and control limitations affect both players.
Best Value

PS5 presentation and technical trade-offs
| Area | What the Complete Edition provides | What to expect |
|---|---|---|
| Resolution | Output up to 4K | Sharper image on compatible displays; exact output can depend on the setup. |
| Frame rate | Up to 60fps | Smoother motion than the original console release. |
| Content | Zurg plus four theme packs | Restored extras rather than a new game-sized expansion. |
| Modes | Story Mode and Toy Box Mode | Both support local two-player co-op. |
| Archival material | Not stated | The package is not presented as a museum-style collection. |
The sharper output cannot hide every age-related issue. Reviewers note stiff controls, a camera that can make platforming awkward and assets that still look like 2010-era work. The remaster improves readability and fluidity, but it does not modernise the design to the standard of a contemporary platformer.
Who should buy it?
Good fit
- Toy Story fans who want the licensed console adventure on PS5
- Families looking for local two-player play
- Nostalgic players who value Toy Box customisation
- Players who missed version-specific Zurg content and theme packs
Wait or choose something else
- Anyone seeking a long, newly designed campaign
- Players who expect a full remake rather than a port
- Collectors primarily interested in extensive archival extras
- Anyone especially sensitive to old-fashioned camera and control design
Price and buying decision
At the reported $24.99 digital MSRP (or £22.49 in the UK), the Complete Edition is easiest to justify when Toy Box and couch co-op are central to your plans. The value proposition is weaker if you only intend to finish the eight Story Mode levels once. Waiting for a sale is sensible for players who are curious but not committed to the sandbox.

Final assessment
Toy Story 3 Complete Edition preserves what made the original tie-in unusually appealing: a colourful, varied campaign followed by a surprisingly useful sandbox with an actual unlock loop. PS5 resolution and frame-rate improvements remove some friction, while Zurg and the four theme packs make this the most complete console package described for the game.
Its limits are equally clear. The story is short, the mechanics are largely unchanged, and the camera, controls and visual assets still reveal their age. Buy it as a polished way to revisit a good 2010 movie tie-in—not as a modern remake or a major new adventure.
