Use this regional quest guide to locate objectives and get unstuck in TOEM 2. You can move on without finishing every quest: GameSpew’s walkthrough says completing about half or fewer in each area is enough, while the game’s stamp system also counts discoveries and critter-compendium progress toward unlocking new regions.
How progression and quests work
TOEM 2 is a photo adventure built around exploring, helping characters, photographing discoveries and recording critters. Your journal tracks stamps earned through quests and other activities; collecting enough opens the next region. The camera and its attachments also help solve puzzles and uncover secrets. The Steam listing says the game has no time limits or tricky requirements for full completion (Steam).
The regional checklist below summarizes the objectives and solutions in GameSpew’s walkthrough, rather than laying out a tested, exhaustive route. Consult the relevant area, then follow the task description. The source notes that some location photos are missing, so not every objective has visual directions.

Early objectives include photographing your house for the scrapbook, taking a photo of Nana, retrieving a paper plane and photographing any creature for a resident. If you are stuck, check whether the task calls for a particular subject or simply any creature.

- Use scissors to cut vines for the worm and windmill quests.
- Collect five apples to make jam for several tasks.
- Find the missing cat by focusing on a flowerpot.
- Photograph three missing gnomes. The walkthrough says its gnome-location photos are missing, so it does not provide complete visual location help for this task.

If you are trying to unlock the next area, check your journal’s stamp progress before spending time on every optional objective. The game is listed for Windows, macOS and SteamOS/Linux on Steam, PS5 on the PlayStation Store, and Nintendo Switch 2 on Nintendo UK; the latter two listings give a 29 September 2026 release date (PlayStation Store; Nintendo UK).
