TickTick is the more natural fit if you plan tasks around a calendar and want quick capture, natural-language time entry, and reminders. Remember The Milk is a stronger fit if you sort work with saved searches and nested subtasks or rely on its service integrations. Neither is a universal winner: compare the specific calendar behavior, plan limits, and capture methods you will use.
How their approaches differ
Both apps organize digital tasks, but their official product pages emphasize different workflows. TickTick highlights calendar views and integration, time-aware task entry, voice capture, and reminders. Remember The Milk emphasizes Smart Lists created from saved searches, subtasks that can be nested, and integrations with other services. These are vendor-described features, not a neutral head-to-head performance test.
Which app is better for calendar planning?
TickTick: calendar views and Google Calendar integration
TickTick describes Google Calendar integration and calendar views on its features page and upgrade page. Its product page also presents lists, calendars, habits, and schedules as parts of the app. This makes it a candidate for people who want task planning and calendar views in one workflow; the pages do not establish that every calendar feature is available on every platform or plan.
Do these 3 things before closing this tab:
1Clear out junk files and repair common Windows errors2Fix the driver behind crashes, sound loss and screen glitches3Repair Windows errors before they cause bigger problemsRemember The Milk: tasks alongside calendar services
Remember The Milk describes calendar subscriptions and ways to work with tasks alongside calendars. Its integrations page and product tour explain the available options. A calendar subscription is not automatically equivalent to two-way synchronization, so check the current documentation for your calendar, device, and intended sync direction.

How do they organize tasks?
Remember The Milk: saved searches and nested subtasks
Remember The Milk lets users save searches as Smart Lists, turning matching tasks into reusable views. Its tour also documents subtasks that can themselves contain subtasks. Those tools suit people who want to define their own task filters or break work into multiple levels.
TickTick: lists and configurable features
TickTick documents task lists and configurable features, with usage limits described on its upgrade page. The official materials reviewed here do not support a complete like-for-like comparison of every organizational feature, so do not assume that one app’s list or project structure maps directly to the other’s Smart Lists or subtasks.

Which is better for capturing tasks and setting reminders?
TickTick: quick entry and reminders
TickTick says users can enter time information in natural language, capture tasks by voice, and set reminders. It also describes widgets and desktop shortcuts as capture or access options. If you regularly turn a spoken thought or a quick note into a dated task, compare how those methods work on the devices you use.
Remember The Milk: capture through integrations
Remember The Milk’s integration materials describe options involving services such as Alexa, Gmail, Siri, IFTTT, and Zapier; its integrations page also mentions Evernote Reminders. The getting-started guide lists these integrations. Availability and limitations can differ by service, device, or plan, so verify the specific route you depend on rather than treating the list as a guarantee of identical access everywhere.

What is free, and what requires an upgrade?
Both services publish plan details, but prices and usage limits may change and can depend on region or billing route. TickTick’s upgrade page describes differences between free and Premium usage, including calendar views and capacity limits. Remember The Milk’s Pro upgrade page describes paid capabilities, including reminders and integrations. Check each live page for the terms that apply to your location and account before deciding; the feature descriptions alone do not establish which tier is best value for you.
Independent reader supportYour contribution helps us test, update, and keep practical guides available for everyone.Choose based on the work you actually do
| If your priority is… | Start by evaluating… | What to verify |
|---|---|---|
| Calendar-forward scheduling | TickTick’s calendar views and Google Calendar integration | Which views and sync behaviors are available on your platform and plan. |
| Custom task sorting | Remember The Milk’s saved-search Smart Lists | Whether your search rules cover the filters you need. |
| Breaking projects into levels | Remember The Milk’s nested subtasks | Whether the documented structure matches your project workflow. |
| Fast entry with dates or voice | TickTick’s natural-language time entry and voice capture | Whether those input methods are supported on the device you use. |
| Capturing through connected services | Remember The Milk’s listed integrations | Current service availability, setup requirements, and plan limits. |
Before moving a whole task system, test the workflow that matters most: create a task, give it a date, find it again in the view you expect, and confirm any calendar or integration behavior you rely on. That small check is more useful than choosing by feature count alone.
