The original Thule Sleek is a configurable city stroller that can carry one child or expand for siblings or twins. Its specifications and attachment options make it important to check the exact model and setup: the standard seat is for children at least six months old who can sit unaided, and some older Sleek strollers are covered by a handlebar recall.
What the original Thule Sleek offers
Thule describes the Sleek as a city pushchair with a reversible seat, three recline positions, an adjustable handlebar, four-wheel suspension, removable foam-filled wheels, and a compact fold with an auto lock. The canopy is rated UPF 50+, and the product page lists an adjustable footwell and a zip-top cargo basket. These are manufacturer-listed features, not independent findings about ride comfort or handling. Thule’s UK listing for the original Sleek gives further model-specific details.
The listed wheel sizes are 11 inches at the rear and 8 inches at the front; the front wheels swivel and can be locked. Thule says the stroller can be folded with or without the seat mounted. These design details may matter when judging storage and day-to-day maneuvering, but the available evidence does not establish how it performs in hands-on use.

How wide and heavy is the Thule Sleek?
For the original Sleek model shown on Thule’s UK page as item 11000013, the manufacturer lists a weight of 13.8 kg, a doorway pass-through width of 60.5 cm, and folded dimensions of 83 × 60.5 × 42 cm. Thule lists a maximum child weight of 22 kg. Treat these as specifications for that displayed model and market, not universal figures for every Sleek configuration or regional listing; confirm the item number and measurements for the stroller you are considering.

Can the Thule Sleek be used from birth?
Not with the standard seat alone. The original Sleek manual says the main seat is for children from six months old who can sit unaided, up to 22 kg. For use from birth, Thule specifies the Sleek Bassinet; its product page also describes a separately sold infant car-seat adapter as a newborn option. Check the exact adapter and car-seat combination before purchase rather than assuming all infant seats fit. The original Sleek instruction manual sets out the use limits.
Is the Thule Sleek a double stroller?
The original Sleek can be configured for more than one child by adding the Sleek Sibling Seat, and Thule describes it as expandable for siblings or twins. A sibling seat is an additional attachment, so check what is included with a particular listing and whether the configuration suits the children’s ages and needs. The original chassis has a specific compatibility list: the Sleek main seat, Sleek Sibling Seat, Sleek Bassinet, and Sleek Car Seat Adapters. Thule’s manual cautions that the chassis is compatible only with those attachments.

Which accessories fit the original Sleek?
Thule’s original Sleek materials list accessories including the bassinet, sibling seat, car-seat adapters, rider board, cup holder, snack tray, seat liners, footmuff, and travel bag. Choose according to the use case, and verify the generation and item compatibility before buying—accessories for the original model should not be assumed to fit Sleek 2. Thule’s travel-bag manual specifically identifies the Stroller Travel Bag as compatible only with Thule Sleek. Thule’s Stroller Travel Bag manual provides that compatibility detail.
Was the Thule Sleek recalled?
Yes. A U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission notice dated August 12, 2020, covers specified original Sleek item numbers manufactured from May 2018 through September 2019 that do not have a QC2020 sticker next to the product label. The affected item numbers are 11000001–11000005, 11000017, 11000330, and 11000337–342. The label is on the lower inside frame; check the item number and YY/MM date code. The recall hazard was that the handlebar could detach. The CPSC recall notice says to stop using an affected stroller and contact Thule about returning it for a free replacement frame.

The CPSC reported about 4,000 U.S. units and about 880 units in Canada, one report of handlebar detachment, and no injuries at the time of its notice. Those are figures reported in 2020; they do not establish that no later incidents occurred or that a stroller outside the listed criteria is risk-free. If you cannot verify the sticker or date code on a used stroller, contact Thule before using it. How to distinguish the original Sleek from Sleek 2
Thule Sleek 2 is a separate product, with its own model identity and specifications. Do not apply the original Sleek’s measurements or attachment compatibility to Sleek 2, or assume accessories interchange. Check the product name, item number, and accessory documentation for the exact generation. Thule’s Sleek 2 listing identifies that model separately.

Who should consider the Thule Sleek?
The original Sleek may suit a buyer looking for a city stroller with a reversible seat and the option to add a second child’s seat or a bassinet. Before choosing a particular unit, confirm the measured fit for your doorways and storage space, establish whether the needed newborn or sibling attachment is included, and screen older units against the recall criteria. The cited manufacturer specifications do not provide an independent test verdict or a basis for ranking it against other strollers.
