Three’s unusual business data SIM costs £57.96 including VAT after a promotional discount ( £48.30 before VAT), paid once rather than by monthly direct debit. It provides 1,000GB of data each month, renewing on the eighth, until the reported service expiry in July 2028. “Vodafone roaming” refers to automatic access to Vodafone’s UK network as well as Three’s network—not to mobile data abroad.
What the £57.96 offer includes
TechRadar reported the promotion on 14 September 2026. The advertised headline may round the price to £54, but the reported checkout figure is £57.96 including VAT after a promotional code. The pre-VAT amount is £48.30. You pay upfront, with no ordinary monthly bill for the included allowance.
| Feature | Reported terms |
|---|---|
| Data allowance | 1,000GB per month |
| Renewal date | The eighth of each month |
| Service expiry | July 2028, according to the report |
| Payment | One upfront payment of £57.96 including VAT after discount |
| SIM formats | Physical SIM or eSIM |
| UK networks | Three and Vodafone, where locally available |
The allowance is monthly rather than a single 1,000GB pool. The important limitation is that the service has a stated end date; it is not a permanent lifetime tariff.
What “Vodafone roaming” means here
The SIM uses multi-operator core network (MOCN) technology. As TechRadar quoted the product information, “Scancom says its SIMs are already activated and ready to use, and it uses MOCN, or Multi-Operator Core Network, technology to provide access to both Three and Vodafone networks.” A compatible device can therefore select either UK network when both are available, potentially improving coverage compared with a Three-only SIM.
#1 Best Overall
- Read Before You Buy — No Video Output: These adapters support charging and USB 2.0 data transfer, but cannot transmit video signals. Except for standard USB webcams (which use USB data only), they are not compatible with HDMI/DisplayPort cables, video-capable USB-C hubs, or docking stations with video output.
- Convert USB-A Ports to USB-C: Designed to connect USB-C earphones, cables, flash drives, card readers, and other USB-C accessories to standard USB-A ports. Plug-and-play with no drivers or software required.
- Aluminum Alloy Housing: Built with a sturdy aluminum alloy shell that aids in heat dissipation and protects against daily wear and scratches. Designed to maintain a stable and secure connection.
- Compact & Travel-Friendly: The ultra-compact design allows the adapter to stay plugged into your device without blocking adjacent ports or adding bulk, reducing wear and tear on your original USB ports.
- 12-Month Warranty: Backed by a 12-month manufacturer warranty for peace of mind. Designed to meet strict quality control standards for reliable everyday performance.
Coverage is still location-dependent. The SIM does not combine signals from both networks at once, and access to Vodafone does not guarantee service in every building, rural area or 5G footprint. Check the coverage at the places where the router or hotspot will be used.
What the SIM cannot do
- No international roaming: the reported promotion is for UK network access. It does not let you use the allowance overseas.
- No voice calls or SMS: it is a data-only product.
- No number porting: you cannot move an existing mobile number to it.
- Business-focused eligibility: TechRadar says the offer is aimed at businesses or sole traders. Confirm the retailer’s current eligibility rules before ordering.
TechRadar’s product summary states: “There are no voice calls or texts included on this SIM, and no number porting.”

Best uses and device compatibility
Routers and mobile broadband
A 4G or 5G router with a standard SIM slot can use the card as a home-office or backup broadband connection, provided the router supports the available network bands and the SIM’s physical size. A router that accepts eSIM can use the eSIM version instead.
Hotspots and connected equipment
Mobile hotspots, laptops with cellular modems and other unlocked data devices are the natural targets. The 1,000GB monthly allowance is large enough for frequent streaming, software downloads, cloud work and video calls, but actual speeds depend on signal, congestion, device capability and local Three or Vodafone coverage.

- Flawless 4K@60Hz Video with HDMI: Delivers exceptional clarity and smoothness with its 4K@60Hz HDMI port, making it ideal for high-definition presentations and entertainment. (Note: Only the HDMI port supports video projection; the USB-C port is for data transfer only.)
- Double Up on Efficiency: The two USB-A 3.0 ports and a USB-C port support a fast 5Gbps data rate, significantly boosting your transfer speeds and improving productivity.
- Fast and Reliable 85W Charging: Offers high-capacity, speedy charging for laptops up to 85W, so you spend less time tethered to an outlet and more time being productive.
- What You Get: Anker USB-C Hub (7-in-1), welcome guide, 18-month warranty, and our friendly customer service.
Using it in a phone
It may connect for data in an unlocked, compatible phone, but it is not a normal phone tariff. You would still need another service for calls, texts and your regular number.
How it compares with Three’s roaming products
Three sells separate business plans and passes that are designed for travel. They are different products from this UK-only prepaid SIM.

Questions to check before buying
- Confirm that your business or sole-trader status meets the retailer’s current eligibility rules.
- Check whether your router or hotspot is unlocked and supports the physical SIM or eSIM format you intend to use.
- Verify Three and Vodafone coverage at the installation address and regular travel locations.
- Confirm the checkout total, including VAT and any promotional-code requirement.
- Record the eighth-of-the-month renewal date and July 2028 reported expiry so the service is not mistaken for an indefinite contract.
- Arrange a separate roaming, voice and SMS solution if the device will travel outside the UK or needs to receive calls and texts.
Bottom line
This is a high-capacity, UK-only mobile-broadband SIM: one upfront payment, 1,000GB each month, and automatic access to two UK networks where available. It suits a router or hotspot that needs heavy data use through July 2028. It is not a phone replacement and “Vodafone” in the headline does not mean international roaming.
