The latest Galaxy S27 price rumor is a mixed—and unconfirmed—picture: preliminary U.S. targets put the base S27 and S27+ at the S26 models’ original launch prices, but below the S26 prices Tom’s Guide reported on October 1, 2026. The rumored S27 Ultra, meanwhile, is $100 above the S26 Ultra’s official launch price. Samsung has not announced the S27, its prices, or the rumored four-model lineup.
What does the Galaxy S27 price rumor say?
In an October 7, 2026 post, tipster account @phonefuturist listed preliminary U.S. starting targets for four purported Galaxy S27 models. Android Authority and 9to5Google reported the figures on October 8. The reproduced post describes the numbers as “Current targets, subject to change” and says regional prices vary.
| Rumored model | Preliminary U.S. starting target |
|---|---|
| Galaxy S27 | $899 |
| Galaxy S27+ | $1,099 |
| Galaxy S27 Pro | $1,299 |
| Galaxy S27 Ultra | $1,399 |
These are tipster targets reported by news outlets, not prices announced by Samsung. The post also lists South Korean and international figures, but those should not be read as U.S. prices. See Android Authority’s report and 9to5Google’s report.
Is the rumored Galaxy S27 more expensive than the S26?
It depends on which S26 price you use. Samsung’s official U.S. launch announcement listed starting prices of $899.99 for the S26, $1,099.99 for the S26+, and $1,299.99 for the S26 Ultra. Against those launch figures, the rumored S27 and S27+ targets are each 99 cents lower, while the S27 Ultra target is $100.01 higher.

That is not the whole comparison. Tom’s Guide reported on October 1, 2026 that the 256GB S26, S26+, and S26 Ultra had risen to current starting prices of $999, $1,199, and $1,399, respectively. Against those reported prices, the S27 and S27+ targets are each $100 lower, and the S27 Ultra target is $100 higher. Retail prices can change, and these figures are not the same baseline as Samsung’s launch prices.
| Model comparison | Official S26 U.S. launch price | S26 price reported by Tom’s Guide, Oct. 1, 2026 | Rumored S27 U.S. target |
|---|---|---|---|
| Base | $899.99 | $999 for 256GB | $899 |
| Plus | $1,099.99 | $1,199 for 256GB | $1,099 |
| Ultra | $1,299.99 | $1,399 for 256GB | $1,399 |
The reported S27 Pro has no direct S26 counterpart in this lineup, so its $1,299 target cannot be treated as a like-for-like generation comparison. Samsung has not confirmed that a Pro model will exist. Sources: Samsung’s S26 launch announcement and Tom’s Guide’s October 1 pricing report.

Why might this be the “worst” S27 price rumor?
The figures do not tell one simple story. The base and Plus targets could look cheaper than the reported present-day S26 prices, yet they are essentially the S26 launch prices. The Ultra target is higher than the S26 Ultra’s official launch price and matches the later S26 Ultra figure reported by Tom’s Guide. Adding a rumored Pro tier also makes a clean model-to-model comparison harder.
There is another uncertainty: Samsung has not confirmed the S27 range or any of these prices. The targets may change before launch, and the tipster explicitly says regional pricing varies. The rumor is useful as an early indication of possible U.S. pricing, not as a reliable basis for a purchase budget.

What else does the leak claim about S27 displays?
The same reporting says the standard S27 and S27+ may use Samsung M14+ OLED panels, while the rumored Pro and Ultra may use M16 panels. Reports speculate that a more advanced panel could be related to privacy-display features, but that connection is unconfirmed. Samsung’s announcement confirms a built-in Privacy Display for the S26 Ultra only; it does not establish S27 specifications. These display claims do not verify the price targets.

If you need a phone now, make the decision using the actual S26 price and availability offered to you, not a rumored future price. If you can wait, the rumor offers a tentative comparison point, but neither the S27 lineup nor its pricing is official. Check prices again when Samsung makes an announcement, and compare like-for-like storage and model tiers rather than treating the rumored Pro as an S26 successor with an established match.
