The Tryone PT01 is a roughly $10 remote page turner for Kindle that lets you advance or reverse pages without touching the screen. It uses a small screen-sensing clip and a handheld radio-frequency (RF) remote, so there is no Bluetooth pairing or Wi‑Fi setup. The trade-off is that fit, placement and long-term reliability vary by Kindle model and case.
How the Kindle clicker works
The system has two parts: a screen-sensing clamp attached to the edge of the Kindle and a separate handheld remote. Pressing the remote sends an RF signal to the clip. A metal contact on the clip then touches the capacitive screen and registers a page-turn command.
Because the connection is RF, you do not pair it in Kindle settings. The listing reviewed by ComparisonDesk in 2026 showed a stated range of 10 meters, rechargeable operation advertised for up to 15 days and automatic standby shutdown after 30 minutes. Those are manufacturer or marketplace claims, not independent measurements.

Kindle and case compatibility
The seller markets the PT01 for Kindle Paperwhite, Oasis, Kids Edition, Scribe and Voyage, as well as Kobo readers, Android tablets, Surface devices, iPhone and iPad. That broad list does not guarantee a fit for every generation. Screen dimensions, bezel width, button placement and case thickness determine whether the metal contact can reach the display in the correct position.
The clamp is advertised for devices up to 0.7 inches thick. The manual warns that covers thicker than 11.5 mm may need to be removed. Measure the reader and case together, and check the exact Kindle generation before ordering. A folio that leaves a narrow bezel can also force the clip over the text area.

Setup: pairing and placing the clip
- Charge the clip and remote, then turn on the screen-sensor clip.
- Press the RF remote button to pair it with the clip. No Kindle Bluetooth menu is involved.
- Attach the clip to a suitable screen edge where its metal tip can rest on the display.
- Place the clip on the left edge for the previous-page direction or on the right edge for the next-page direction.
- Keep the metal tip clean and ensure it makes consistent contact with the glass.
- Open a book and test several turns before settling into a reading position.
The manual describes each clip as controlling only one direction. Switching from forward to backward therefore means moving the clip to the opposite side, rather than pressing a second direction button.
Kindle settings that reduce frustration
Use tap-to-turn pages
The review recommends click or tap page turning instead of swipe page turning. A screen contact can reproduce a tap reliably, but it cannot perform a gesture that depends on dragging across the display.

Protect the text area
If the clamp covers words, move it farther toward the bezel or adjust the Kindle’s margins to create a wider clear area. Test in both portrait and landscape orientations if you change reading positions.
Clean and reseat the sensor
Intermittent turns can result from a dirty metal tip, a loose clamp or a case lip preventing contact. Power-cycle the clip, reseat it on a flatter edge and test with the case removed if the cover is near the manual’s 11.5 mm limit.

Advantages and limitations
| What it does well | What to watch for |
|---|---|
| Hands-free reading in bed or while holding a drink | Clip may intrude into the text area |
| Quiet, one-click operation | Placement is sensitive to bezel and case design |
| RF operation without Bluetooth pairing | Some buyers report finicky connection or responsiveness |
| Clamp is intended to accommodate thicker cases | One review reported failure after about a month |
| Low observed price of $9.99 | No independent controlled durability study was identified |
These reports make the PT01 a convenience accessory rather than a proven long-life peripheral. Keep the seller’s return window in mind if reliable daily use matters more than the low entry price.

How it compares with other approaches
Bluetooth page-turn remotes
Boox Tappy is a $25.99 Bluetooth 5.4 remote aimed at Boox and Android devices. TechRadar reported an approximately 10-meter range and successful Android modes, but it did not turn pages on three tested Kindles. The reason is that page-turn commands are not standardized across e-reader operating systems: a remote that sends a recognized keyboard or media command on one device may do nothing on another.

- Rechargeable battery that lasts for weeks – Read for weeks on a single charge, then recharge over USB-C. (USB-C cable and adapter sold separately.)
- Simple by design – Seamless Bluetooth pairing, with no additional components to manage. Built by the Kindle team for Kindle.
- Comfortable anywhere you read – Informed by human-factors research, Kindle Click is lightweight and shaped to rest naturally in either hand, whether you’re reading in bed, on the couch, on a flight, or on the treadmill.
Amazon’s Kindle Click
Android Central reported on October 1, 2026, that Amazon introduced Kindle Click, a Bluetooth remote designed to turn pages without touching the reader alongside the 2026 Kindle redesign. Availability and supported Kindle models can differ by market and software version, so confirm those details in Amazon’s current product information before buying. Unlike the PT01’s screen-contact method, a native Bluetooth accessory depends on the Kindle’s operating-system support for its commands.
| Decision factor | Tryone PT01 | Bluetooth alternative |
|---|---|---|
| Connection | RF clip and remote; no pairing menu | Requires Bluetooth support and pairing |
| Kindle compatibility | Depends on physical placement and tap zones | Depends on Kindle command support |
| Direction control | One direction per clip position | May offer forward and back if supported |
| Obstruction risk | Physical clip can cover text | Usually no screen contact |
| Observed price | $9.99 in the 2026 listing | Boox Tappy: $25.99 |
Is a $9 Kindle page turner worth it?
It is a sensible low-cost experiment for readers who mainly want forward page turns from bed, a chair or a reading stand and whose case leaves enough bezel for the clip. The RF design avoids pairing problems, and the price limits the risk if the accessory is used occasionally.
Skip it or choose a device-specific Bluetooth option when the clip would cover text, when you need dependable two-way controls without moving hardware, or when a Kindle model is not clearly supported. Whatever you choose, verify the exact generation, case thickness and return policy; marketplace ratings and advertised battery figures do not establish long-term reliability.
