The Thermal Grizzly DeltaMate CPU Block – MPII Intel 1851 Black (TG-DM-CPU-002) is a premium custom-loop water block built for Intel LGA1851 and backward compatible with LGA1700. Its materials, fittings, mounting hardware and loop requirements are documented by the manufacturer; independent cooling results are not established by the available review listing. That means its design can be assessed, but claims that it is a “beast” in performance cannot be verified here.
What this Intel 1851 block is—and is not
This is a component for a custom liquid-cooling loop, not a self-contained all-in-one cooler. The exact model covered here is the black Intel version, manufacturer part number TG-DM-CPU-002 (EAN 4260711992759). Thermal Grizzly describes it as optimized for LGA1851 and backward compatible with LGA1700. The separate AM5 MPII variant is a different product and should not be treated as this block.
Thermal Grizzly’s product page lists the specifications and package contents. Its June 12, 2026 announcement describes the MPII series. The EnosTech review archive contains an entry matching the requested review title, but the archive listing does not expose the article body or testing methodology. No hands-on observations or independent thermal, noise or flow measurements can therefore be attributed to that review here.

The manufacturer specifies a nickel-plated copper coldplate, solid nickel-plated brass housing, borosilicate-glass viewing window, anodized aluminum cover and EPDM sealing O-rings. The Intel coldplate uses a hybrid fin layout:

These dimensions describe the block’s geometry, not measured cooling performance. They do not establish a temperature advantage over another block or indicate how it will perform in a particular loop.
Connections, lighting and appearance
The block has standard female G1/4-inch inlet and outlet ports, with 6 mm-deep port threads. RGB lighting connects to a motherboard 3-pin 5V/DATA/GND ARGB header; check that your header matches before installation. A magnetic cover can conceal the screws and mounting hardware, allowing two described visual configurations.

Compatibility and loop requirements
Confirm the socket and the rest of the cooling loop before buying. The manufacturer lists LGA1851 support and backward compatibility with LGA1700; a product-specific note also identifies compatibility with Intel High Performance Heatspreader V1 on LGA1700. That note does not make the block an AM5 product or establish suitability for other direct-die configurations.
Thermal Grizzly warns against aluminum parts that contact coolant in the loop. It recommends coolant with biocides and corrosion inhibitors and without particles that could restrict flow or clog the system. The manufacturer specifies a maximum operating pressure of 0.6 bar for the loop. Its installation notes call for an air-pressure leak test before filling and regular leak checks during the first 24 hours after filling. Follow the current manual and verify the pressure limits of every loop component; the block’s listed limit does not override a lower limit elsewhere in the system.

- Pressure-test certificate for 1 bar
- 2 mm and 2.5 mm Allen keys
- Mounting hardware: four knurled nuts, four #6-32 standoff screws, four steel springs and four polyamide M4 washers
The included 1 bar pressure-test certificate is a test-certificate figure, not permission to operate the assembled loop at that pressure. The manufacturer’s stated maximum operating pressure is 0.6 bar.
What can—and cannot—be concluded about performance
The available evidence supports a specification-based assessment: the block has a documented material construction, fin geometry, standard G1/4-inch connections, ARGB support and stated socket compatibility. It does not support a verdict on temperatures, acoustics, flow restriction, comparative ranking or value for cooling performance. Those conclusions require controlled, independent measurements with the test conditions and comparison hardware disclosed.

Who should consider it
The documented fit is most relevant to builders planning an LGA1851 or compatible LGA1700 custom loop who want the specified materials, an ARGB connection and the included mounting hardware. Before choosing it, confirm your socket configuration, motherboard header, coolant and loop materials, pressure limits, and whether the listed price fits your budget. If your purchase decision depends on a cooling advantage over alternatives, the specifications alone are not enough to establish one.
