The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt – Remastered has a reported resolution target of 1080p docked and 720p handheld, with a 30–40 fps target in both modes. That is not a 60 fps game, and the range should not be read as a guaranteed 40 fps lock. The figures were reported by Nintendo Life from a CD PROJEKT RED livestream; they are targets, not independently measured output.
What resolution and frame rate does it target?
The announced targets differ by play mode for resolution, but not for frame rate:

Nintendo Life reported these figures after a CD PROJEKT RED livestream. The source describes them as targets; it does not establish that the resolutions are native, document a scene-by-scene measurement method, or provide measured output data. The game may lean closer to 40 fps on displays compatible with 120 Hz, but that is not a promise of a steady 40 fps.
Crashes, No Sound, or Screen Glitches?
Random freezes, missing sound and display glitches usually trace back to one bad driver. Find and replace yours safely.Free scan · under a minutePC Slower Than It Used to Be?

No. The reported target is 30–40 fps in docked and handheld play, not 60 fps. A compatible 120 Hz display may allow performance to lean toward the upper end of that range; it does not change the published target into 60 fps.

How does observed performance compare with the targets?
In its Switch 2 review, Nintendo Life’s George Yang said his experience fell within the 30–40 fps range but still had performance inconsistencies. This is one reviewer’s qualitative account, not a controlled benchmark or frame-time analysis, so it does not show how often or in which scenes performance varies.
The same review noted long loading times, particularly in handheld mode, and roughly a one-second delay when opening the map or save menu. Those are the reviewer’s observations, not guaranteed timings for every player or session.
What changes visually on Switch 2?
CD PROJEKT RED lists improved textures, foliage, lighting, rendering, and ray tracing among the remaster’s improvements. In Nintendo Life’s review, the Switch 2 version had fuller foliage and better-looking cutscenes than the original Switch version, while hair could still look fuzzy or aliased.

Which Switch 2 controls and touch features are supported?
The native Switch 2 release adds ways to interact that are specific to the platform:
- Motion controls for signs, the crossbow, bombs, potions, and Roach.
- Gyro aiming.
- Mouse controls.
- Touchscreen interaction with maps and menus, and touchscreen play for Gwent.
The remaster also changes animations, combat, skills and progression, monster behavior, the user interface, and accessibility options, according to CD PROJEKT RED.

What is included, and can original Switch owners upgrade for free?
The Switch 2 remaster includes both expansions, Hearts of Stone and Blood and Wine, including for players whose original Switch purchase was only the base game. CD PROJEKT RED’s support FAQ says owners of The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt on Nintendo Switch can claim the Switch 2 remaster at no extra cost. The FAQ excludes Russia and Belarus from the free upgrade.

What the published figures do—and do not—tell you
The practical expectation is a sharper reported target in docked mode than handheld, with the same 30–40 fps target range in either mode. Since the resolution and frame-rate figures are livestream-reported targets rather than a published benchmark, they should not be treated as measurements for every scene. The available review adds useful real-play context—some performance inconsistency and slower loading or menu response—but does not quantify those effects across the game.
