To solve The Sinking City 2’s Red Idol puzzle, find the Heart of Stone in the Abandoned Office safe using code 6294. Insert it into the Strange Statue, then shoot its five targets in this order: kneeling person, octopus, Deep One statuette, hourglass, Leyden Jar. Take the Heart of Ice from the broken statue to the separate Frozen Statue in Cold Storage; it releases a Depleted Leyden Jar that you recharge at the Construction Site.
Get the Heart of Stone first
Continue the Fish Market chapter, “Time and Tide,” until you reach the memory sequence. In the Abandoned Office, open the safe with code 6294. The memory version of the safe contains a Leyden Jar; in the present, the corresponding item is the Heart of Stone. You also receive the Cryptic Riddle note and ammunition. Red Idol puzzle solution: shoot the Strange Statue targets in order
Find the multi-armed Strange Statue near Ma Fishface’s Shop. Insert the Heart of Stone before firing. The riddle’s five clues point to these objects and positions:
- Kneeling person — right arm; the “mother’s prayer.”
- Octopus — upper-left arm; “the sea.”
- Deep One statuette — lower-right arm; “a god to bend the knee.”
- Hourglass — left arm; “time.”
- Leyden Jar — lower-left arm; “hold the spark.”
After the final target, the Strange Statue breaks. Collect the Heart of Ice from it. The order and target mapping are also listed in Nerd’s Chalk’s puzzle guide.
Use the Heart of Ice on the Frozen Statue
The Frozen Statue is a different object from the Strange Statue. Return to Cold Storage and enter the Cold Room, whose door is marked with a snowflake. You need the Snowflake Key, found in the Auction Room. Use the Heart of Ice on the Frozen Statue and collect the Depleted Leyden Jar. Take the depleted jar to the charging machine on the second floor of the Construction Site. Charging is interrupted during the encounter: when it stops, pull the switches beside the red lights to restore power. Once the encounter is over, retrieve the charged jar. It is the third Leyden Jar needed to open the three-starfish door to the Broken Hold. The Fish Market route is described in the chapter walkthrough.

- You are looking for the Ice Heart at the wrong statue: the Strange Statue gives you the Heart of Ice; use it on the separate Frozen Statue in Cold Storage.

- The charging machine stops: pull the switches next to the red lights to restore power, then finish the encounter and collect the charged jar.
