The Sinking City 2 takes place in flooded 1920s Arkham, where exploration links deliberately built districts and interiors rather than one unrestricted city map. You travel on foot and by skiff, using landmarks, signs, and routes through the water to orient yourself. Here are the major documented story locations and the map resources available, with a clear distinction between official game information and fan-made coverage.
Major documented locations, by chapter
The locations below are story anchors listed in an unofficial chapter guide, not a verified inventory of every room or interior. Frogwares independently identifies Arkham streets, Akeley Memorial Hospital, Fish Market, and Redemption Church as built locations in its Xbox Wire discussion of the game’s design.
| Location | Chapter in the guide | What to know |
|---|---|---|
| Radio Station district | Chapter 1 — A New Day | Opening investigation; the guide also points to a fuse box puzzle and an Apartment 5 safe. |
| Redemption Church island | Chapter 2 — The Wake-Up Call | Church island, floodgate, and graveyard area. |
| The Printing House | Chapter 2 — The Wake-Up Call | Associated with the “Cursed Press” case. |
| Devil’s Reef Hotel | Chapter 2 — The Wake-Up Call | Hotel and the “Siren’s Call” case. |
| Akeley Memorial Hospital | Chapter 3 — A Sight for Sore Eyes | A major hospital location also named by the developer and PlayStation. |
| Arkham Fish Market | Chapter 4 — Time and Tide | A major market area also mentioned in official PlayStation and Xbox Wire materials. |
| The Portal threshold / Portal Room | Chapter 5 onward in the guide | A late-game anchor; room-by-room details are not verified here. |
The chapter names and location groupings come from the unofficial Sinking City 2 location guide. Its author notes that documentation of later mansion corridors is still in progress, so treat the list as a practical set of documented anchors rather than a claim of completeness.
What maps are available?
The Hidden Gaming Lair’s interactive map reports 10 maps and 621 locations, and was last updated September 6, 2026. Those are figures reported by a third-party database, not an official in-game or developer-published total. Its map names include Arkham, The Sanctuary, Akeley Forest, Hospital Grounds, Outskirts, and Ship. Search-indexed categories also expose names such as Market, Necropolis, Mines, and Manor, but the complete map interface has not been independently verified here.
#1 Best Overall
Use the two fan resources for different purposes:
- Interactive map: Useful when you want location-level points and a broad set of map areas. Its reported counts are third-party database totals.
- Chapter guide: Useful for connecting major story locations to chapter names and cases. It is less granular than an item-by-item map and acknowledges gaps in later interior coverage.
How to orient yourself in flooded Arkham
The official PlayStation description confirms travel by foot and skiff, and describes shortcuts behind collapsed seawalls. The developer frames Arkham as connected survival-horror spaces designed for exploration, rather than a single open-world city. See the PlayStation game description and the developer’s Xbox Wire article.
- Use cases and street signs together. The unofficial guide recommends signs and visible landmarks to identify districts as you investigate.
- Follow the water routes when a district is unclear. The guide says boat routes circle districts and can reveal waterline entrances; this is practical fan guidance, not an official navigation rule.
- Check submerged areas selectively. The guide advises looking below the surface in flooded interiors for evidence and supply caches. Treat this as a tip from that guide, not a guarantee that every flooded space contains something.
How complete and current are the location lists?
No official source cited here publishes a complete room-by-room inventory. The chapter guide itself says later mansion-corridor documentation remains in progress, while the interactive map’s totals are maintained by a third party. For a story overview, the chapter anchors are the more direct reference; for finer points, consult the interactive map while keeping its provenance and update date in mind.
Version can also matter when following chapter or area references. Frogwares’ console notes list Patch 1.0.1 dated August 25, 2026, with fixes affecting “A New Day,” “Cold Comfort,” “Holloway Manor,” “A Sight for Sore Eyes,” and “The Wake-Up Call.” Check the official console patch notes if a location or chapter behaves differently from a guide.
