The Sinking City 2 has six listed ammunition types, but scarce supplies make crafting a matter of matching rounds to the encounter—not producing one type on autopilot. Use the in-game recipe display for current material costs and yields; the figures below for the Alchemical Abundance talent come from secondary reporting and may vary by build.
All six ammo types and their reported roles
Nerd’s Chalk lists six ammunition entries and describes their broad uses. Treat these as practical role suggestions, not a verified ranking of damage or efficiency.

The talent competes for a limited talent slot, so its value depends on which ammunition types you craft and whether the added rounds address a real shortage. How to choose what to craft

- Routine threats: Consider sidearm ammunition when controlled shots can handle the situation.
- Harder ranged encounters: Reserve rifle ammunition for targets or situations that justify its use.
- Close pressure: Shotgun ammunition suits dangerous encounters at close range.
- Multiple or sustained threats: Use the submachine gun in short bursts rather than spending its reserve continuously.
- Especially difficult fights: Treat grenades as heavy support, not routine ammunition.
This is a conservation framework, not a claim that one type deals more damage or is always more efficient. Keep resources flexible until your weapon choices and the encounters you face reveal a clear gap. Crafting also competes with healing and other resource needs, so consider the cost shown in your game before committing materials to ammunition.

Where to check recipe costs and yields
Open the current crafting recipe display in the game and use the values shown there before spending materials. The available guides do not establish a complete, independently supported table of ingredient costs for every ammunition recipe. Because recipes and reported yields may be build-sensitive, avoid relying on a list copied from another version or game.

Can you use recipes from the 2019 The Sinking City?
Do not assume recipes from the 2019 The Sinking City apply to The Sinking City 2. The referenced guide warns against carrying recipes over between the games; use the sequel’s own recipe display for its current crafting information.
