The PSB iQ2 brings together a powered stereo pair, BluOS streaming, HDMI eARC for a TV, and a moving-magnet phono input for a compatible turntable. That combination is what makes it appealing if you want music, television audio, and vinyl in one compact system. Calling it “everything I wanted from Sonos” is a personal verdict, though—not a proven head-to-head result. No specific Sonos model or controlled comparison has been established, so the useful question is whether the iQ2’s mix of inputs and BluOS suits your setup.
What the PSB iQ2 is—and what “all-in-one” means
The iQ2 is a pair of powered speakers, not a single wireless speaker. Each speaker contains amplification and digital-to-analog conversion, while BluOS provides the central streaming and control platform. The left and right speakers connect wirelessly to each other, so the system does not require a traditional speaker cable between them. PSB positions the iQ2 as the successor to its Alpha iQ platform, with music, TV, and vinyl use in mind. PSB’s product information describes the current system and its features.
Here, “all-in-one” means the speakers integrate streaming and amplification; it does not mean every source is built in or that the system is one cabinet. You can use its network streaming features or connect external sources through its inputs.
Why it can feel like an alternative to a Sonos setup
The iQ2’s strongest case is its breadth of sources in a stereo pair. HDMI eARC offers a direct connection to a compatible TV, and the built-in moving-magnet phono input is designed for a compatible turntable. BluOS handles streaming and can connect the iQ2 to other BluOS-enabled products for multiroom playback. PSB also lists AirPlay 2, Spotify Connect, Tidal Connect, and Qobuz Connect in its launch announcement. Service and platform support can change, so check current documentation for the services you rely on. PSB’s June 23, 2026 announcement lists those features.
#1 Best Overall
- Read Before You Buy — No Video Output: These adapters support charging and USB 2.0 data transfer, but cannot transmit video signals. Except for standard USB webcams (which use USB data only), they are not compatible with HDMI/DisplayPort cables, video-capable USB-C hubs, or docking stations with video output.
- Convert USB-A Ports to USB-C: Designed to connect USB-C earphones, cables, flash drives, card readers, and other USB-C accessories to standard USB-A ports. Plug-and-play with no drivers or software required.
- Aluminum Alloy Housing: Built with a sturdy aluminum alloy shell that aids in heat dissipation and protects against daily wear and scratches. Designed to maintain a stable and secure connection.
- Compact & Travel-Friendly: The ultra-compact design allows the adapter to stay plugged into your device without blocking adjacent ports or adding bulk, reducing wear and tear on your original USB ports.
- 12-Month Warranty: Backed by a 12-month manufacturer warranty for peace of mind. Designed to meet strict quality control standards for reliable everyday performance.
That mix may appeal if you want to avoid assembling a separate streaming box, amplifier, and phono preamp. But the experience depends substantially on BluOS for streaming and control. If your existing multiroom system is built around a different platform, ecosystem compatibility deserves as much attention as sound or appearance.
Connections for everyday sources
- TV: HDMI eARC is the direct television connection highlighted on the product page. Confirm that your TV has a compatible eARC or ARC connection and check current setup guidance for configuration details.
- Vinyl: The moving-magnet (MM) phono input is for a compatible turntable. Check the turntable’s cartridge type and output configuration; a different cartridge or a turntable configured for line-level output may call for different connection arrangements.
- Streaming and multiroom: BluOS is the core app and platform. PSB says the iQ2 can join multiroom playback with other BluOS products.
- Other connections: PSB’s series announcement also lists Wi-Fi, Ethernet, USB-C, USB-A, RCA, and a subwoofer output. Because these details come from the announcement rather than the current product-page summary, check the live manual if a particular connection is essential to your purchase.
The listed subwoofer output offers a way to add a powered subwoofer, but the available product information does not establish compatibility with any specific model.

What setup and app use involve
BluOS is not just a way to start playback: reviewers describe using it for setup, equalization, and multiroom or multichannel system configuration. That makes the app part of the system’s day-to-day operation, not an optional extra. TechRadar’s iQ2 review discusses those BluOS tasks from the reviewer’s experience; software functions can change, so verify any capability that matters against current platform documentation.

“Sonos” is a product ecosystem, not one specific speaker configuration. The iQ2 is a powered stereo pair with BluOS, a wireless link between its speakers, and the physical inputs PSB lists. A meaningful comparison needs a named Sonos product or setup and the same criteria on both sides; the available information does not establish a controlled iQ2-versus-Sonos test.

- Compare the iQ2 stereo pair with the exact Sonos configuration you would buy, including any separate components.
- Check whether each system supports the streaming services and multiroom arrangement you actually use.
- Compare TV and turntable connections, including whether either setup needs an adapter or additional component.
- Consider app dependence, speaker-to-speaker connection, dimensions, placement, and subwoofer options.
- Use current prices for the complete systems in your region, not an old launch price or a speaker-only figure.
- Keep listening impressions specific to the person and conditions involved; published reviews are not a substitute for a matched test.
Who the iQ2 suits
The iQ2 is worth considering if you want a compact stereo pair that combines network streaming with explicit TV and compatible-vinyl inputs, and you are comfortable relying on BluOS. Its appeal is less clear if you need a particular ecosystem integration that BluOS does not provide, want a one-cabinet speaker, or are deciding between it and a Sonos product on the basis of a claimed overall winner. In those cases, identify the exact sources, services, connections, and system configuration you need before comparing prices.
