THE NEW DENPA MEN, Genius Sonority’s free-to-play RPG, is scheduled to end service on December 7, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. Japan Standard Time. That is December 6 at 6:00 p.m. Pacific Time and 9:00 p.m. Eastern Time. The cutoff applies to the game’s service, not just its Nintendo Switch release.
When does THE NEW DENPA MEN shut down?
The developer’s official end-of-service time is December 7, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. JST. In North American time zones, Gematsu reports the corresponding deadline as December 6, 2026, at 6:00 p.m. PT and 9:00 p.m. ET. The two dates reflect the time-zone difference, not conflicting shutdown announcements. Genius Sonority’s notice and Gematsu’s report give the service-ending details.

Any event still underway at the cutoff will end when service terminates. Players should use the time zone applicable to their location rather than treating December 6 as a worldwide date.
Which game and platforms are affected?
The game is THE NEW DENPA MEN, a free-to-play RPG developed by Genius Sonority. Gematsu reports releases on Nintendo Switch on July 22, 2024; iOS and Android on March 10, 2025; and Nintendo Switch 2 on April 6, 2026. Because the developer describes this as termination of the game’s service, the notice is not limited to the original Switch version.

What should players do before service ends?
Use any paid Jewels you want to spend
Paid-item sales ended on October 5, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. JST, so paid items can no longer be purchased. Genius Sonority recommends using paid Jewels before the service cutoff. It says in-game data, including Jewels and items, will no longer be available after service ends.
Keep the app installed and save your Support ID
The developer asks players not to delete the app or reinstall it on a new device until the refund procedure for unused paid currency is complete, because player data may be needed to verify inquiries. The Support ID can be checked in the app’s Support section through March 31, 2027. Keep a record of it and retain access to the app while awaiting the refund instructions.

Will unused paid currency be refunded?
Yes. Genius Sonority says it will refund the unused paid portion of in-game currency under Article 20, Paragraph 1 of Japan’s Payment Services Act. The company has not yet announced the refund request period or the steps players must follow; it says those details will be posted after service ends on its official website. The refund statement concerns the paid portion of currency, not all items or game data.
Why is the game ending?
Genius Sonority said it concluded that it would be difficult to continue providing a service that meets players’ expectations. Its October 5, 2026 notice does not cite a financial cause, so claims that revenue or commercial failure prompted the shutdown are not established by that announcement.
