The fastest route depends on what you mean by “materials” in Star Wars Droid Tycoon: Upgrade Chips improve droid variants, while a fusion consumes three specific droids. For Chips, run CB-23’s secret Elphrona mission whenever it is unlocked, finish eligible Daily Quests, collect the Upgrade Chip Station at least once an hour, and add Scrap, World Mission crates, or Rainbow Super Crates when your account supports them. For a named fusion, choose the output first, gather its exact three ingredients, and verify their labels and quality in the Workshop before you commit them.
The island is Fortnite Creative’s Star Wars Droid Tycoon, code 7865-8305-9184, created by foad. Fortnite describes a workshop where you craft droids, send them on missions, and assign them to produce Credits.
What “materials” means in Droid Tycoon
There are two separate progression bottlenecks, and farming one does not automatically produce the other.
Upgrade Chips
Upgrade Chips are the currency used to improve droid variants. You can earn them from Daily Quests, missions, Scrap, World Mission crates, the Upgrade Chip Station, and Super Crates. These are the materials to target when you want to upgrade an existing droid.

Fusion ingredients
Fusion ingredients are the three named droids consumed by a selected recipe. A recipe such as RIV-3T requires KX, IG, and RIC; no amount of Chip farming substitutes for those three droids. Current recipe coverage lists 17 fixed named recipes, but third-party spellings and role classifications can differ. Treat the Workshop’s labels as the final authority.
Fastest current Upgrade Chip route
No single activity is the objectively fastest source for every account. The most efficient practical plan layers a repeatable mission with guaranteed quest rewards and passive or situational sources that match your unlocks.
1. Finish eligible Daily Quests first
Current guide coverage records 10 Upgrade Chips for an Easy quest and 25 for a Medium quest. Complete the quests that are already close to finished before spending time on a special route. Daily slots and rewards can change with island updates, so read the reward shown in your live quest panel rather than assuming these values are permanent.

2. Run CB-23’s secret Elphrona mission
Once CB-23’s secret mission is unlocked, it is the strongest repeatable, guide-documented Chip activity. Droidex reports a configured base duration of 50 minutes; the actual timer can change with the assigned droid and mission-speed effects, so use the terminal’s displayed countdown for your account.

The same coverage reports a 10% four-Nova outcome. That makes the often-quoted 77-Chip figure an average over many runs, not what every single 50-minute mission returns. Start the mission again as soon as it completes, and avoid treating the average as a promise of a fixed hourly rate.

3. Keep the Upgrade Chip Station producing during active play
The Upgrade Chip Station runs only while you are in the game and stores no more than one hour of production. Collect it at least hourly or the excess production is wasted. The current station table ranges from 2 Chips per minute for a Default Common droid to 80 Chips per minute for a Kyber Mythic droid. Use the best eligible non-Iconic droid available to you; the exact value for intermediate variants is not established in the current coverage, so rely on the number shown by your station.

4. Add Scrap, but do not depend on it
Scrap is a bonus source rather than a predictable primary farm. Droidex records 5–60 Chips per Scrap drop, depending on upgrade level. When both Scrap perks are owned, the reported appearance chance is 4.17%. Because both the drop size and appearance are variable, treat Scrap as extra income while you perform other activities.

Super Crates reveal Rainbow crates at level 3. The current route is to park Gold and Diamond crates outside one nearby spawn cluster, leave Rainbow crates as the target, and check nearby spawn points again after each opening. This reduces the chance of overlooking a newly available Rainbow while you are moving between clusters.
One reported run produced 67.59K Upgrade Chips in one hour with DJ R-3X and BB-8 equipped. That figure came from a single run reviewed for version 1.33.0; the guide did not record how many crates were opened and did not publish a crates-per-hour figure. It is therefore an observed example, not a guaranteed rate or a basis for comparing every account.
6. Claim World Mission crates whenever they appear
World Mission crates are event or system rewards rather than an always-on replacement for CB-23 and Daily Quests. The current Chip guide lists rewards of 200, 600, 800, or 2,000 Chips, with the amount tied to the shared mission level. If a World Mission is available, include it in your route; otherwise, continue the repeatable basics instead of waiting for one to return.

Chip-farming schedule that minimizes waste
- At login, check Daily Quests and complete any Easy or Medium task that can be finished alongside your normal play.
- Verify that CB-23’s secret Elphrona mission is unlocked, assign the droid that gives you the best practical timer, and start the mission.
- Assign your best eligible non-Iconic droid to the Upgrade Chip Station.
- Set a one-hour reminder or use a natural activity break to collect the station before its storage cap is reached.
- Open World Mission crates and collect Scrap when they appear, but do not abandon a running CB-23 cycle to chase a low-probability Scrap drop.
- If Super Crates are level 3 and Rainbow crates are available, work the nearby spawn cluster and recheck its surrounding points after each opening.

How to farm ingredients for a specific fusion
Ingredient farming has no universal fastest route because every output has a different three-droid requirement. Work backward from the fusion result instead of collecting random droids and hoping they combine.
Choose the output, then make a three-droid list
Write down the exact three inputs shown for the target recipe. The following examples are reported current recipes:

Some guides say these names match the Workshop labels, while a community recipe guide warns that unlisted combinations can produce errors. Before you press the fusion button, compare all three names in the Workshop with your written list. If a spelling, hyphen, number, or role does not match, stop and recheck rather than substituting a similar-looking droid.
Protect scarce duplicates
Several droids appear repeatedly across recipes. Groundmech and KX, for example, can be needed more than once in a single recipe or across several possible targets. Keep a reserve until you have decided which output you actually want. A droid that looks “extra” may be the second copy required by X-ONK or QIK-BIT.

Current sources do not establish a verified spawn route for every named ingredient. Do not promise yourself a fixed number of minutes or a universal farm loop; acquisition is recipe-specific and depends on what the island currently offers your account.
Check variant quality before fusing
Fusion quality matters as much as the names. Current guide coverage says that three matching copies of a droid produce one copy at the next rarity. The resulting variant follows the input quality, and mixing quality levels can lower the result.
- Confirm that all three inputs are the same named droid where the recipe requires duplicates.
- Compare their variant or quality labels, not just their silhouettes.
- Do not mix a high-quality copy with lower-quality copies when your goal is a particular upgraded output.
- Take a final screenshot or written note of the three selected inputs before confirming consumption.
This check is especially important for recipes such as SRV-0, which uses two B1 HEAVY droids, and QIK-BIT, which uses two GROUNDMECH droids. The recipe can be correct while the result is still worse than intended if the quality levels are mixed.

The D-O event guide reports that D-O halves the fusion timer only when D-O is actively equipped as your companion at the moment the fusion starts. Equipping D-O after the fusion has begun does not retroactively shorten the timer.

Common mistakes and fixes
Confusing Chips with droids
Symptom: You have plenty of Chips but cannot start the desired fusion. Fix: Return to the recipe and collect the three named droids; Chips upgrade variants but do not replace ingredients.
Letting the station cap out
Symptom: The station appears to be working, but your total is lower than expected. Fix: Collect at least once per hour because the station stores only one hour and requires active game time.
Using an unlisted combination
Symptom: The Workshop rejects the fusion or produces an unexpected result. Fix: Verify every label against the selected recipe and use a documented recipe rather than experimenting with near matches.

Mixing quality levels
Symptom: The fusion completes at a lower quality than intended. Fix: Inspect all three quality labels before confirmation and replace the outlier.
Assuming an average is guaranteed
Symptom: A CB-23 run returns less than 77 Chips or a crate session earns less than 67.59K. Fix: Treat 77 as a weighted mission average and 67.59K as one observed one-hour Rainbow run, not guaranteed payouts.
What the current evidence supports
For Upgrade Chips, the best-supported routine is to combine Daily Quests, CB-23’s secret mission, hourly Upgrade Chip Station collections, and any available World Mission or Rainbow crate opportunities. For fusion ingredients, there is no single fastest farm: the correct route begins with the exact output recipe and ends with a Workshop check of all three names and quality levels. The island code is 7865-8305-9184; use the live island interface to confirm unlocks, timers, and event availability before committing scarce droids.
