As of August 10, 2026, the OnePlus 15 is the best overall battery-life choice for U.S. buyers. Tom’s Guide recorded 25 hours and 13 minutes in its continuous 5G web-browsing test, while PhoneArena also ranks it first under a different testing system. Those results make the OnePlus 15 the strongest endurance recommendation, although its cameras, software polish, and update commitment are not as compelling as some premium rivals.

The right alternative depends on what you value. The OnePlus 15R is the cheaper endurance flagship; the iPhone 17 Pro Max is the best iPhone; the Galaxy S26 Ultra is the better long-term premium Android choice; the Moto G 2026 is the budget endurance winner; the Pixel 10 is the best compact option; and the ROG Phone 9 Pro is the specialist choice for gaming.

This is a comparison of published results from a 12-phone U.S.-focused test pool, not a claim of new hands-on testing by this publication. The figures come from different laboratories and should not be merged into one supposedly precise leaderboard. Where a manufacturer supplied the result, it is identified as a manufacturer claim.

Quick verdict

Category Phone Why it stands out
Best overall endurance OnePlus 15 25:13 in Tom’s Guide’s continuous 5G browsing test; also leads PhoneArena’s separate battery ranking.
Best value endurance flagship OnePlus 15R Reached 21:54 in the same Tom’s Guide test and costs $200 less than the OnePlus 15 according to that coverage.
Best iPhone iPhone 17 Pro Max The longest-lasting current iPhone in Tom’s Guide’s testing, at 17:54.
Best premium Android for long ownership Galaxy S26 Ultra Good 16:10 endurance plus seven generations of OS upgrades and seven years of security updates.
Best budget endurance Moto G 2026 Lasted 19:10 in Tom’s Guide’s test, ahead of several much more expensive phones.
Best affordable phone with long support Pixel 10a Android Authority found strong web, video, and recording results, while Google promises seven years of updates.
Best compact battery phone Pixel 10 Android Authority measured nearly 14 hours of browsing and nearly 10 hours of video calls.
Best gaming phone Asus ROG Phone 9 Pro Reached 20:34 in Tom’s Guide’s test and adds gaming controls, but receives a shorter software-support commitment.
Best foldable battery candidate Motorola Razr Ultra 2026 Tom’s Guide calls it the longest-lasting foldable it has tested.
Best short-charge candidate OnePlus 15 for Android; iPhone 17 Pro Max for iOS The OnePlus has 80W wired charging; Apple claims 50% in about 20 minutes with the correct 40W adapter.

For the broadest U.S. battery recommendation, buy the OnePlus 15. Choose the Galaxy S26 Ultra instead if seven years of support, Samsung’s camera system, and a more established premium software experience matter more than winning the endurance chart.

The published battery results are not one universal ranking

The clearest common reference is Tom’s Guide’s continuous cellular web-surfing test. It sets displays to 150 nits, connects phones to cellular data—generally 5G—and runs a scripted browsing workload until each phone shuts down. The results below are useful as a comparison within that test, but they do not predict every type of use.

PhoneArena uses separate Wi-Fi browsing, video-streaming, and 3D-gaming tests before calculating a composite score. Tech Advisor primarily uses PCMark Work 3.0 for Android phones and different real-world testing for iPhones. Android Authority also separates browsing, video playback, camera capture, video recording, video calls, and graphics testing. A phone can therefore lead one chart and lose another.

Phone Published endurance evidence What the result does—and does not—show
OnePlus 15 25:13 in Tom’s Guide. PhoneArena reports a 10:44 composite score, with 30:06 browsing, 12:37 video, and 14:16 gaming. The strongest overall published U.S. result, but the PhoneArena and Tom’s Guide times must not be averaged.
OnePlus 15R 21:54 in Tom’s Guide. Excellent endurance at a lower price, despite its larger advertised battery than the OnePlus 15.
Asus ROG Phone 9 Pro 20:34 in Tom’s Guide. Strong for gaming-focused buyers, although a browsing test is not the same as sustained 3D gaming.
Moto G 2026 19:10 in Tom’s Guide. Exceptional low-cost endurance, achieved in a less ambitious hardware package.
Moto G Play 2026 18:50 in Tom’s Guide. The lowest-cost long-running option, but it gives up camera quality, performance, and charging speed.
iPhone 17 Pro Max 17:54 in Tom’s Guide. Apple claims up to 39 hours of local video playback and 35 hours of streamed video. The 17:54 is an independent test result; Apple’s video figures are laboratory claims under Apple’s conditions.
Galaxy S26 Ultra 16:10 in Tom’s Guide. Samsung claims up to 31 hours of video playback. A strong premium result, but Samsung’s 31-hour figure is not directly comparable with Tom’s Guide’s web test.
Pixel 10 Pro XL 14:20 in Tom’s Guide. A respectable large flagship result, but not a battery-life leader.
Galaxy S26+ 13:13 in Tom’s Guide. Considerably behind the S26 Ultra in the same family, despite a similar battery capacity.
Google Pixel 10 Android Authority found almost 14 hours of browsing and almost 10 hours of video calling. The most persuasive compact-phone result in the published evidence.
Google Pixel 10a Android Authority reports around 10 hours of web and Zoom use, 23 hours of 4K video playback, and more than six hours of continuous 4K recording. Strong independent results for a phone under $500, but not a direct Tom’s Guide equivalent.
Motorola Razr Ultra 2026 Tom’s Guide calls it the longest-lasting foldable it has tested. Android Authority measured a full charge in 57 minutes while drawing 45W. A promising foldable result, but foldable endurance depends heavily on how much the inner screen is used.

Tom’s Guide’s current guide describes itself as listing the 15 longest-lasting phones, although the visible numbered list extends to 17 entries and includes an apparent model-name typo. That does not by itself invalidate the test, but it is a reminder to verify the model, region, firmware, and test version before repeating a ranking. See Tom’s Guide’s current battery ranking and its smartphone testing methodology.

Best overall: OnePlus 15

The OnePlus 15 is the phone to buy if the main objective is to stay away from a wall outlet. Its 25-hour-13-minute Tom’s Guide result is the best in this U.S.-focused comparison by a substantial margin. PhoneArena independently places it first with a different testing system, reporting 30 hours and 6 minutes of browsing, 12 hours and 37 minutes of video, and 14 hours and 16 minutes of gaming.

The U.S. model uses a dual-cell battery with a typical-equivalent capacity of 7,300mAh and 27.6Wh. It supports up to 80W wired charging and 50W wireless charging, according to OnePlus’s specifications. That combination gives it both high endurance and good potential for quick recovery.

The trade-off is that the OnePlus 15 is not automatically the best all-purpose flagship. Android Authority identifies software clutter, camera downgrades, a less ambitious update commitment than some rivals, and concerning thermal behavior as drawbacks. Buy it for endurance first; choose the Galaxy S26 Ultra or iPhone 17 Pro Max if camera consistency, software support, or platform features carry more weight.

Best cheaper endurance flagship: OnePlus 15R

The OnePlus 15R is the value alternative. Tom’s Guide recorded 21:54—nearly four hours behind the OnePlus 15, but still ahead of the other phones in this comparison except the ROG Phone 9 Pro. Tom’s Guide lists the U.S. price at $699.99 and says it is $200 below the OnePlus 15 in its coverage.

Its U.S. model has a 7,400mAh Silicon NanoStack battery. The larger cell does not make it the endurance winner: the less powerful chipset and different display behavior help explain why the 15R trails the OnePlus 15. The 15R’s 60Hz baseline refresh behavior is also different from the OnePlus 15’s adaptive display behavior.

This is the better choice for a buyer who wants unusually long battery life and near-flagship performance without paying for the OnePlus 15’s more expensive camera and display package. It is less suitable if you want the best cameras or the longest possible software life.

Best iPhone: iPhone 17 Pro Max

The iPhone 17 Pro Max is the endurance choice for people committed to iOS. Its 17:54 Tom’s Guide result is the longest iPhone result that publication has measured. Apple’s own testing claims up to 39 hours of local video playback and 35 hours of streamed video playback.

Apple lists 40W fast charging to 50% in about 20 minutes with a compatible adapter. MagSafe and Qi2 wireless charging reach up to 25W. The 20-minute claim requires a 40W adapter or higher, so it should not be treated as the result of any USB-C charger.

Special offer. See more information about Outbyte and uninstall instructions. Please review EULA and Privacy policy.

Apple does not publish a simple mAh capacity on the iPhone 17 Pro Max specification page. Third-party capacity estimates differ between U.S. and global versions, so an estimated mAh figure should not be presented as an Apple-confirmed specification. Also note that U.S. iPhone 17 Pro and Pro Max models use eSIM and do not accept physical SIM cards. Details are in Apple’s iPhone 17 Pro specifications.

Best premium Android for long-term ownership: Galaxy S26 Ultra

The Galaxy S26 Ultra is not the endurance champion, but it is the more balanced long-term purchase for many Android buyers. Its 5,000mAh battery lasted 16:10 in Tom’s Guide’s test. Samsung claims up to 31 hours of video playback, but that manufacturer result uses a different workload and cannot be compared directly with 16:10.

The phone supports up to 60W wired charging and 25W wireless charging. Samsung says it can reach up to 75% in about 30 minutes under its supported charging conditions. The U.S. model starts at $1,299.99 before trade-in, according to Samsung’s launch announcement.

Its most important ownership advantage is support: Samsung promises seven generations of OS upgrades and seven years of security updates. That matters because a phone bought for seven years should be judged not only by its first-month endurance but also by battery replacement access, software support, heat management, and repair options.

What about the Galaxy S26+?

The Galaxy S26+ is a useful mainstream comparison, but not a battery leader. Its 4,900mAh battery produced 13:13 in Tom’s Guide’s test—well behind the S26 Ultra’s 16:10. Tom’s Guide measured 40% after 15 minutes of charging and 71% after 30 minutes. Its 45W charging can therefore be convenient even though its total runtime is only moderate. See Tom’s Galaxy S26+ review and Samsung’s battery comparison.

Best budget endurance: Moto G 2026

The standard Moto G 2026 is the budget endurance winner in the Tom’s Guide test pool. It ran for 19:10, beating the more expensive iPhone 17 Pro Max and Galaxy S26 Ultra in that specific workload.

Motorola gives it a typical 5,200mAh battery and 30W TurboPower charging. The low price comes with clear compromises: its cameras, performance, display, and charging experience are basic compared with flagship phones. In Tom’s Guide’s charging test, it reached only 27% after 30 minutes, so its long runtime does not mean fast recovery.

The Moto G Play 2026 is the cheaper alternative. It also has a typical 5,200mAh battery, but supports only 18W charging and lasted 18:50 in the same Tom’s Guide test. Tom’s Guide says the standard Moto G is worth the roughly $20 premium if the buyer can afford it because it offers better cameras and a slightly longer result. Specifications are available for the Moto G 2026 and Moto G Play 2026.

Special offer. See more information about Outbyte and uninstall instructions. Please review EULA and Privacy policy.

The Moto G Power 2026 is a possible substitute when a review needs a lower-cost test pool, but it is not the better endurance result: Tom’s Guide recorded 18:22. The 2026 model also drops wireless charging found on the 2025 version.

Best affordable phone with long support: Google Pixel 10a

The Pixel 10a is the strongest choice for a buyer who wants long software support and good computational photography without paying flagship prices. Android Authority names it the best battery phone under $500 in its independent testing.

Google lists a typical 5,100mAh battery, with a minimum rated capacity of 5,000mAh. Google claims more than 30 hours of battery life and up to 120 hours with Extreme Battery Saver. Android Authority measured around 10 hours in web and Zoom testing, 23 hours of 4K video playback, and more than six hours of continuous 4K recording.

The Pixel 10a supports up to 50% charge in approximately 30 minutes when paired with a 45W USB-C PPS charger or higher. Google also promises seven years of updates. Its limitation is that it uses the last-generation Tensor G4, so it is not the best choice for sustained high-performance gaming.

Special offer. See more information about Outbyte and uninstall instructions. Please review EULA and Privacy policy.

Best compact phone: Google Pixel 10

Compact phones usually have less room for a large battery, but the Pixel 10 is the best small-phone endurance candidate in the published evidence. Android Authority measured almost 14 hours of web browsing and almost 10 hours of video calling.

Google lists a typical 4,970mAh battery, more than 24 hours of battery life, and up to 100 hours with Extreme Battery Saver. It claims approximately 55% charge in 30 minutes. These are Google’s usage and charging estimates, not direct equivalents to Tom’s Guide’s 150-nit 5G test.

Choose the Pixel 10 if a phone that is easier to hold matters more than maximum runtime. It will not match the OnePlus 15 in heavy-use endurance, but it avoids the size and weight of the largest battery phones while retaining Google’s seven-year OS, security, and Pixel Drop update promise.

Pixel 10 Pro XL: the larger Google option

The Pixel 10 Pro XL has a typical 5,200mAh battery and supports up to 70% charge in 30 minutes with a 45W charger. Tom’s Guide recorded 14:20, which is respectable but far behind the OnePlus 15. It makes more sense for buyers who prioritize Google’s camera and software features than for those who simply want the longest possible runtime.

Best gaming phone: Asus ROG Phone 9 Pro

The ROG Phone 9 Pro is the specialist choice for gaming. Tom’s Guide recorded 20:34, placing it near the top of the endurance results. Asus lists a typical-equivalent 5,800mAh battery, up to 65W wired charging, and 15W wireless charging.

Asus also claims at least 22.1 hours of video streaming, 23.4 hours of social-media scrolling, and 4.5 hours of heavy gaming under its own conditions. Those claims should not be confused with a continuous 3D gaming result, where heat, frame rate, brightness, and game settings can radically change power consumption.

The main compromise is ownership duration. Asus promises two OS updates and five years of security updates for the ROG Phone 9 series. That is considerably shorter than the seven-year commitments attached to current Google Pixel 10 and Samsung Galaxy S26 lines. Buy the ROG Phone 9 Pro for its gaming hardware and endurance, not as the best seven-year phone.

Best foldable battery candidate: Motorola Razr Ultra 2026

The Motorola Razr Ultra 2026 is the foldable to consider when battery life is a priority. Tom’s Guide calls it the longest-lasting foldable it has tested. Android Authority lists a 4,700mAh battery, 68W wired charging, and 30W wireless charging, and measured a full charge in 57 minutes while the phone drew 45W in its test.

Special offer. See more information about Outbyte and uninstall instructions. Please review EULA and Privacy policy.

Foldable results require extra caution. A phone used mostly closed on its cover display consumes power differently from one used mostly open on its larger inner screen. A fair foldable test should report both a mostly-closed scenario and a mostly-open scenario, or clearly state the mixture of screen use. The Razr Ultra is therefore the best published foldable battery candidate, not a directly comparable winner over every conventional phone in this list.

Why battery capacity does not determine the winner

mAh measures how much electrical charge a battery can store; it does not measure how efficiently a phone uses that charge. Display size and brightness, refresh-rate behavior, processor efficiency, modem conditions, software activity, camera hardware, and thermal management all affect runtime.

The OnePlus 15R illustrates the point. Its 7,400mAh battery is larger than the OnePlus 15’s typical-equivalent 7,300mAh cell, yet it lasted 21:54 versus 25:13 in Tom’s Guide’s test. Chipset behavior and display settings help explain why a smaller battery can produce a longer result.

Large batteries can also increase a phone’s thickness or weight. Conversely, a smaller flagship can sometimes be efficient during light tasks while losing ground during gaming, navigation, or weak-signal 5G. Capacity is useful context, but it should not receive much weight in a serious ranking.

What “best battery life” should include

A useful battery recommendation has at least eight dimensions:

  1. Controlled endurance: runtime under a repeatable workload such as 150-nit 5G browsing.
  2. Mixed-use endurance: whether the phone survives a normal morning-to-night schedule.
  3. Heavy-use endurance: performance during gaming, navigation, hotspot use, video calls, photography, and 4K recording.
  4. Standby efficiency: overnight drain while accounts, notifications, and radios remain active.
  5. Charging recovery: how much usable battery returns after 10, 15, or 30 minutes.
  6. Thermal behavior: whether heat slows charging, reduces brightness, or causes performance throttling.
  7. Battery longevity: how well the cell is expected to retain capacity after years of charging.
  8. Ownership value: software support, repairability, warranty, replacement-battery access, and U.S. carrier compatibility.

A single continuous browsing score is valuable, but it cannot answer all of these questions.

Charging recovery can matter more than total runtime

For commuters and travelers, the relevant question is often not whether a phone lasts 25 hours instead of 20. It is whether a short stop at an airport or coffee shop restores enough battery to finish the day.

Phone Published charging information Important condition
OnePlus 15 Up to 80W wired and 50W wireless. Use the supported charger and cable; advertised wattage is not the same as average wattage during a full charge.
iPhone 17 Pro Max About 50% in 20 minutes; up to 25W MagSafe and Qi2. Apple requires a compatible 40W adapter or higher for the 20-minute claim.
Galaxy S26 Ultra Up to 60W wired, 25W wireless, and approximately 75% in 30 minutes. Samsung’s claim depends on its supported fast-charging setup and test conditions.
Galaxy S26+ 45W charging; Tom’s Guide measured 40% in 15 minutes and 71% in 30 minutes. This is one of the more useful independent recovery measurements in the comparison.
Pixel 10 Google claims about 55% in 30 minutes. Google’s result assumes its stated charger and conditions.
Pixel 10 Pro XL Up to 70% in 30 minutes with a 45W charger. The charger is part of the claim.
Pixel 10a Up to 50% in approximately 30 minutes with a 45W USB-C PPS charger or higher. The correct PPS charger is required.
ROG Phone 9 Pro Up to 65W wired and 15W wireless. High wired wattage does not guarantee the fastest full charge because the battery and charging curve also matter.
Razr Ultra 2026 68W wired and 30W wireless; Android Authority measured a 57-minute full charge while drawing 45W. That is an independent result for one test setup, not a universal guarantee.
Moto G 2026 30W TurboPower; Tom’s Guide measured 27% after 30 minutes. Its long endurance is not matched by fast charging.
Moto G Play 2026 18W TurboPower. The slowest charging specification in this group.

The OnePlus 15 is the leading Android short-charge candidate on paper because of its 80W wired rating, while the iPhone 17 Pro Max has the clearest iOS claim at 50% in about 20 minutes. There is not enough identical 10-, 15-, and 30-minute testing across all 12 phones to declare an objective cross-platform charging champion.

How a fair battery test should be run

A credible hands-on comparison should publish the following information before presenting a ranking:

  • Exact model number, region, storage and RAM configuration, firmware build, and operating-system version.
  • Whether each phone was a retail or review unit, along with battery health and cycle count when available.
  • The SIM, carrier, 5G bands, Wi-Fi network, signal conditions, and test location.
  • Screen brightness measured with a light meter, resolution, refresh-rate setting, always-on display status, and performance mode.
  • Battery saver, location, Bluetooth, NFC, hotspot, background accounts, and notification settings.
  • Ambient temperature, charger, cable, starting battery percentage, and whether the phone was used while charging.
  • The number of runs and whether results were repeated or averaged.

1. Controlled 5G browsing

To approximate Tom’s Guide’s method, fully charge each phone, set the display to 150 nits, connect every device to the same 5G network and location, run the same scripted browser workload, and continue until shutdown. Repeat the test if results vary materially. This is a useful controlled comparison, not a prediction of a person’s exact screen-on time.

2. Mixed-use day

A consumer-facing schedule should include 30 minutes of web browsing, 60 minutes of video streaming, 30 minutes of social media, 30 minutes of navigation, 30 minutes of messaging and email, 30 minutes of camera use, 20 minutes of 4K recording, 30 minutes of video calling, and 30 minutes of gaming, followed by eight hours of standby.

Report the remaining battery percentage, screen-on time, temperature, signs of throttling, delayed notifications, and whether the phone completed the day. This is more representative than using one application continuously.

3. Heavy-use tests

Test 4K recording, GPS navigation over 5G, 3D gaming, hotspot use, video calls, and outdoor operation at high brightness separately. Android Authority’s approach of separating web, video, camera capture, video recording, video calls, and graphics is a better model than hiding every workload inside one composite number. Its testing principles are described in Android Authority’s methodology.

4. Charging tests

Record the battery percentage after 10, 15, and 30 minutes, then measure 0–25%, 0–50%, 0–80%, and 0–100%. Also record peak charging wattage, temperature, charger inclusion, and whether a proprietary charger or cable is necessary. Charging should begin at a controlled temperature and starting percentage because charging slows as the battery fills and can slow further when the phone gets hot.

Battery health and long-term ownership

A new phone’s endurance is not the same as its endurance after two years. Google says batteries in the Pixel 8a and later are designed to retain up to 80% capacity for about 1,000 charge cycles under recommended conditions. Apple says iPhone 15 and later batteries are designed to retain 80% capacity at 1,000 complete charge cycles under ideal conditions. These are design targets, not guarantees for every owner.

Heat is one of the most important threats to battery longevity. Gaming, 4K recording, fast charging, direct sunlight, and poor cellular reception can all raise temperature. Apple warns that high temperatures can permanently reduce battery lifespan and that charging may slow or pause outside safe temperatures. Google recommends charging Pixels around 25°C/78°F and limiting prolonged exposure above 35°C/95°F. See Apple’s battery maintenance guidance and Google’s Pixel battery guidance.

Special offer. See more information about Outbyte and uninstall instructions. Please review EULA and Privacy policy.

Battery-protection features can help. Pixel phones offer Adaptive Charging and an 80% charge limit. Samsung offers Basic, Adaptive, and Maximum Battery Protection modes. These features should be disabled or standardized during a controlled charging test, then evaluated as part of the ownership experience. Documentation is available from Google and Samsung.

Phone family Support information relevant to ownership
Pixel 10, Pixel 10 Pro XL, and Pixel 10a Google promises seven years of OS, security, and Pixel Drop updates.
Galaxy S26 Ultra and S26+ Samsung promises seven generations of OS upgrades and seven years of security updates.
ROG Phone 9 Pro Asus promises two OS updates and five years of security updates for the ROG Phone 9 series.
OnePlus 15 and 15R Published coverage describes the update commitment as less ambitious than the longest-support Google and Samsung phones; verify the current regional policy before buying for a long ownership period.
iPhone 17 Pro Max and Motorola phones The supplied specifications do not establish a comparable fixed update-period figure here. Check the current manufacturer policy, repair options, and battery replacement availability before assuming a multi-year ownership advantage.

If your current phone otherwise works well, a battery replacement may be better value than buying a new phone. Consider replacement when the phone still receives needed security updates, its performance and cameras meet your needs, and an authorized repair provider can install a suitable battery. Replace the phone instead when battery degradation is accompanied by obsolete software, poor network compatibility, damaged charging hardware, or performance that no longer meets your use.

U.S. buyers should be cautious with import phones

Global battery rankings can produce a different winner. Tech Advisor reports 25:36 for the Oppo Find X9 Ultra and 21:27 for the Xiaomi 17 Ultra in PCMark testing. Those results are not enough to place either phone above the OnePlus 15 for a U.S. buyer.

Before importing an Oppo, Xiaomi, Poco, or unavailable Motorola model, verify:

  • U.S. carrier bands and 5G compatibility.
  • eSIM and physical-SIM support for your carrier.
  • Warranty coverage and return arrangements in the United States.
  • Google services, Android Auto, contactless payments, and emergency-calling support.
  • Software-update availability for the exact regional model.
  • Local repair and replacement-battery access.

Tech Advisor specifically notes that the Oppo Find X9 Pro and Motorola Edge 70 Fusion are unavailable in the U.S. Global PCMark results belong in a separate import section, not silently mixed into a U.S. buying guide. See Tech Advisor’s battery comparison.

Which phone should you buy?

  • Buy the OnePlus 15 if you want the longest published U.S. endurance and fast wired and wireless charging.
  • Buy the OnePlus 15R if you want nearly 22 hours in the same published test at a lower price and can accept a less premium camera and display package.
  • Buy the iPhone 17 Pro Max if you want the longest-lasting current iPhone and already use Apple services and accessories.
  • Buy the Galaxy S26 Ultra if premium Android features, cameras, and seven-year support are more important than topping the endurance chart.
  • Buy the Moto G 2026 if the main requirement is inexpensive, unusually long runtime and you can tolerate basic cameras and slow recovery charging.
  • Buy the Pixel 10a if you want an affordable phone with strong published battery results, Google’s cameras, and seven years of updates.
  • Buy the Pixel 10 if you want a smaller phone and can accept less endurance than the large-screen leaders.
  • Buy the ROG Phone 9 Pro if gaming controls, sustained gaming features, and high endurance matter more than long software support.
  • Buy the Razr Ultra 2026 if you want a foldable and do not want to accept the usual battery compromise, while remembering that open-screen use changes the result.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is the phone with the largest battery always the one that lasts longest?

No. The OnePlus 15R has a 7,400mAh battery but lasted 21:54 in Tom’s Guide’s test, while the OnePlus 15 has a slightly smaller 7,300mAh typical-equivalent battery and lasted 25:13. Display behavior, chipset efficiency, modem conditions, software, and heat all matter.

Are the battery-life numbers in different reviews directly comparable?

No. Tom’s Guide uses continuous 150-nit cellular browsing, PhoneArena separates Wi-Fi browsing, video, and 3D gaming, and Tech Advisor primarily uses PCMark for Android. Use each ranking within its own methodology rather than averaging the numbers.

Can any of these phones really last two days?

The OnePlus 15, OnePlus 15R, and some budget phones may last two days for light or moderate users. Heavy gaming, navigation, hotspot use, weak 5G, high brightness, and video recording can reduce that dramatically. Manufacturer claims such as Apple’s 39-hour video figure and Google’s 30-plus-hour claim are controlled estimates, not guarantees.

Which phone is best if I often have only 15 minutes to charge?

The OnePlus 15 is the strongest Android candidate because it supports up to 80W wired charging, while the iPhone 17 Pro Max has Apple’s clear claim of about 50% in 20 minutes with a compatible 40W adapter. Charging results depend on the starting percentage, temperature, charger, cable, and whether the phone is being used.

Should I replace my phone or just replace its battery?

Replace the battery if the phone still has adequate performance, network compatibility, software support, and cameras, and an authorized repair provider is available. Buy a new phone when battery degradation comes with obsolete software, damaged charging hardware, poor performance, or other defects.

The Bottom Line

Bottom line: The OnePlus 15 is the best overall battery-life phone for U.S. buyers based on the strongest published evidence available as of August 10, 2026. The OnePlus 15R offers the best cheaper route to flagship-level endurance, while the iPhone 17 Pro Max, Galaxy S26 Ultra, Moto G 2026, Pixel 10a, Pixel 10, ROG Phone 9 Pro, and Razr Ultra 2026 each make more sense for specific buyers. Compare the test method, charging recovery, heat, and software lifespan—not just the mAh number—before buying.
