Decart’s original Oasis demo is the clearest free-to-try alternative to Odyssey-3. It lets you enter an AI-generated scene without an announced charge, although Decart describes it as a technology demonstration rather than a game and does not promise a permanent free plan. Google’s Project Genie is the closest direct prompt-to-world comparison, but access requires a Google AI Ultra subscription in supported regions. Roblox Cube/4D is useful for generating functional objects inside Roblox experiences, not for producing an unrestricted world model.

What “free alternative” means in this comparison

Odyssey-3 is presented by Odyssey as a foundation world model for operating across physical and virtual systems. Its October 2026 page describes a research preview in which a person prompts an environment, acts inside it and observes the model’s response. The company’s September introduction calls it an autoregressive diffusion transformer trained to simulate diverse scenarios and said public release was expected “in the coming weeks.” Those statements do not establish a durable free tier, a permanent no-cost product or a definitive public price.

That distinction matters because AI-world products are often shown as previews, demos or limited-access prototypes. A page that opens without a payment prompt today may later require an account, subscription or paid usage. The options below are therefore ranked by the evidence available for trying them, not by a claim that every one is permanently free.

For orientation, Odyssey describes Odyssey-3 as a model that could “power robots, drive cars, train AIs, pilot drones, and even play video games.” That is the company’s description, not an independent evaluation. None of the products in this list has been tested against a common third-party benchmark, so performance numbers should be read as vendor-reported specifications rather than a laboratory ranking.

1. Decart Oasis: the best-supported free-to-try choice

If your immediate goal is to enter an AI-generated environment without committing to a subscription, start with Decart’s original Oasis demo. The official demo page was openly playable in the material reviewed, and it did not state a charge. That makes Oasis the strongest evidence-backed answer to “what can I try for free?”

Oasis is not presented as a finished game. Decart explicitly calls it a technology demonstration, so expect an experimental experience rather than a persistent world with a conventional game loop, inventory system or guaranteed continuity. The demo’s value is showing how a model can render a scene that responds to your actions in real time.

What Oasis is good for

  • First-hand exploration: You can see how an AI-generated scene responds as you move and interact.
  • Concept testing: It is useful for judging whether this style of world generation feels compelling before paying for a service.
  • Understanding the category: Oasis demonstrates the difference between a static image or video and a scene that attempts to maintain an interactive state.

What Oasis does not prove

  • An openly playable demo is not evidence of a permanent free plan.
  • A technology demonstration is not evidence of production-grade reliability, game-quality content or long-term world persistence.
  • Its existence does not establish that Odyssey-3 or any other world model will offer the same access terms.

When you try Oasis, evaluate it as a short experiment. Note whether actions produce consistent consequences, whether the scene remains coherent as you move, how quickly frames respond and whether the generated content matches the prompt or implied setting. Those observations are more useful than treating a brief demo as a finished product review.

2. Project Genie and Genie 3: the closest direct alternative, but not free without Ultra

Google’s Project Genie is the most direct conceptual comparison in the available material. Users can describe or sketch a world, then navigate the generated result. That prompt-to-world workflow is closer to Odyssey-3’s public description than a tool that only makes individual assets.

  • COMPETE OR COOPERATE: Play with friends and family in competitive or cooperative modes for endless replayability.
  • EXPANSIONS AVAILABLE: Discover new possibilities and challenges with available expansions that add depth and variety to the game.

The access condition is decisive: Google says Project Genie is available to Google AI Ultra subscribers in supported regions. The US rollout announcement specified subscribers aged 18 and over. Google’s help page says the early-access prototype does not consume AI credits, but that only means generated sessions do not draw down a separate credit balance; an Ultra membership is still required. It should therefore be treated as a paid-access alternative, not a free option for someone without that subscription.

Session limits and quality caveats

Google’s current help information gives users 30 seconds to create a world and 60 seconds to explore each generated world. These are short, bounded sessions, not an unlimited persistent simulation. The same guidance warns that controls, visual realism and adherence to prompts or physics may be imperfect. A world that looks convincing in a short clip may therefore behave inconsistently when you attempt a longer route or a precise action.

When Genie makes sense

  • Choose it when you already have Google AI Ultra and want to compare prompt- or sketch-driven world generation directly with other research previews.
  • Use it for rapid visual ideation, short navigable scenarios and testing how a model interprets spatial instructions.
  • Do not choose it solely because it does not use AI credits: the subscription gate remains the important cost requirement.

For a fair comparison with Oasis, use similar prompts and judge the same properties: how quickly a scene becomes usable, whether movement feels responsive, whether the world obeys the requested layout and whether the generated environment remains stable for the full session.

3. Roblox Cube and 4D generation: useful for playable objects, not whole worlds

Roblox’s Cube/4D generation belongs in this list because it addresses interactive creation, but it solves a different problem. Roblox describes a beta in which creators can generate functional objects inside Roblox experiences. The initial announcement began with two schemas, including a car whose wheels turn and spin, rather than a general-purpose model that generates an entire explorable world.

  • ECONOMIC STRATEGY GAME: Experience the retelling of the story of humanity, starting from Sumeria and ending with the modern day USA. Control the buildings and lands to collect gold for scoring at the end of the game.
  • ENCOUNTER IMPORTANT PEOPLE & EVENTS: History of the World features over sixty influential people on Empire and Event cards along with capitals, cities, monuments, and forts.
  • AREA CONTROL: Take control of land and buildings as important locations come into play,.
  • ENGAGING GAME NIGHT: History of the World is perfect for 2-6 players. Gameplay lasts 30 minutes per play. Overall 60-180 Min.

This distinction prevents a common category mistake. A generated car that behaves like a car is an asset or object-generation result. An Odyssey-style world model attempts to simulate a broader environment in which many objects, actions and consequences coexist. Cube/4D is the better fit when your project already lives in Roblox and you need interactive components that can be placed into an experience.

What the beta can contribute

  • Functional geometry: The announced car schema includes wheels that turn and spin, indicating behavior as well as appearance.
  • Faster prototyping: Creators can explore generated objects without building every component manually.
  • Experience-level integration: The feature is designed to operate inside Roblox experiences rather than as a separate world simulator.

Evidence limits

The announcement does not establish a separate consumer price or a permanent free plan. It also does not show that Cube/4D can create an open-ended environment, maintain a long simulation horizon or replace a world model. Roblox reported a 64% average increase in play time among players engaging with 4D generation in the specific Wish Master experience during early access. That observation belongs to that experience and period; it should not be generalized to all Roblox users or every generated world.

Select Cube/4D when your success criterion is “Can I make a playable object inside my existing game?” Select Oasis or Project Genie when the criterion is “Can I enter a generated environment and move through it?”

4. Decart Oasis 3: the specialist option for driving and physical-AI work

Oasis 3 is a more specialized alternative for readers interested in driving simulation, robotics or physical-AI experiments. Decart describes promptable driving environments controlled with physical signals, which is a narrower but more consequential use case than casual exploration.

Decart reports end-to-end latency below 200 milliseconds and 22 frames per second at a 512×768×3 output configuration. Those figures are vendor-reported Oasis 3 specifications, not results from an independent head-to-head test. The reviewed page does not establish free API access or a general consumer plan, so Oasis 3 should not be presented as a free replacement simply because the original Oasis demo can be tried without an announced charge.

Who should consider it

  • Researchers or developers evaluating how generated environments react to steering, acceleration or other physical signals.
  • Teams that need driving scenarios rather than fantasy, architectural or general exploration scenes.
  • Readers who care more about response latency and simulation control than about a casual, no-cost demo.

Questions to resolve before committing

  • What account, API or commercial access is available in your region?
  • Are the published latency and frame-rate figures available at the resolution and hardware you need?
  • Does the environment preserve state long enough for your scenario, or is it intended for short generated clips?

5. Odyssey Agora-2: shared simulation, but not an independent alternative

Agora-2 is relevant when your defining requirement is shared participation. Odyssey describes it as a real-time world simulation for up to 20 humans and agents. That differs from the single-participant perspective Odyssey gives for Odyssey-3 in its public description.

Because Agora-2 comes from the same company, it should be treated as an adjacent product rather than an independent competitor. It may be useful for comparing single-user and multi-user simulation concepts, but it does not solve the question of finding a separate provider with a clearly documented free plan. The reviewed page describes a playable research preview and does not provide stable free-tier or price terms.

Special offer. See more information about Outbyte and uninstall instructions. Please review EULA and Privacy policy.

Choose Agora-2 only when shared presence is central

If you need several people or software agents to occupy one simulation at the same time, the stated limit of up to 20 participants is the relevant differentiator. If you simply want to try an AI-generated world at no announced charge, Oasis is the clearer starting point. If you need a third-party alternative to Odyssey, Agora-2 does not meet that requirement because it is another Odyssey offering.

A practical evaluation checklist

Because there is no independent cross-product benchmark for these systems, use a consistent checklist instead of relying on promotional screenshots.

  1. Record the access condition. Write down whether the experience opened anonymously, required an account, required a subscription or offered only a limited preview. Do not infer a permanent free plan from one successful session.
  2. Use equivalent prompts. Ask each world-capable system for the same setting, such as a small coastal town with a road, a bridge and a movable vehicle. Keep wording as similar as the interface allows.
  3. Test movement before visual polish. Walk, turn, stop and revisit a landmark. A convincing still frame does not demonstrate a coherent interactive state.
  4. Test cause and effect. Move an object, collide with something or follow a requested route. Note whether the environment responds consistently or merely generates the next frame.
  5. Measure the usable horizon. Project Genie’s documented limits are 30 seconds for creation and 60 seconds for exploration. For other systems, record the actual session length and whether state persists.
  6. Check latency and frame rate separately. A high frame rate does not guarantee low input delay, and a vendor’s specification may apply only to a stated resolution and configuration.
  7. Separate object quality from world quality. A well-behaved generated car, such as the example described for Roblox Cube/4D, does not prove that roads, weather, pedestrians and collisions are simulated at world scale.
  8. Capture failure modes. Note prompt drift, visual seams, impossible physics, repeated textures, delayed input and sudden scene resets. Those limitations often matter more than the first impressive minute.

What the current evidence can and cannot establish

The available product descriptions support a useful access and capability map, but not a definitive performance ranking. There is no named independent study comparing Oasis, Project Genie, Cube/4D, Oasis 3 and Agora-2 under identical prompts, hardware, resolution and session lengths. Vendor-reported numbers should remain attributed to the vendor.

For example, Oasis 3’s sub-200-millisecond latency and 22 FPS at 512×768×3 describe Decart’s stated configuration. They do not show that Project Genie or Oasis would be slower or faster under equivalent conditions. Likewise, Roblox’s 64% play-time increase applies to Wish Master during early access, not to every Roblox experience using 4D generation.

Special offer. See more information about Outbyte and uninstall instructions. Please review EULA and Privacy policy.

Availability is also conditional. Project Genie’s supported-region and Ultra requirements can exclude otherwise interested users. Roblox’s feature is described as a beta inside experiences. Oasis is an openly playable demonstration in the reviewed material, but its page does not promise that access will remain free. Odyssey-3 and Agora-2 are described as research previews without durable free-tier terms.

Bottom line for 2026

Use Decart Oasis first if “free” means an interactive experience you can try now without an announced charge. Treat it as a technology demo, not a permanent free game or proof of production readiness.

Choose Project Genie if you want the closest prompt-to-world workflow and already have Google AI Ultra in a supported region. Its 30-second creation window and 60-second exploration window make it a short-session prototype, and Google cautions that controls, realism and prompt or physics adherence may be imperfect.

Choose Roblox Cube/4D when your real goal is to create functional game objects inside Roblox. Choose Oasis 3 for driving and physical-AI scenarios, subject to access terms that are not established as free. Consider Agora-2 only when shared participation for up to 20 humans and agents is more important than finding an independent Odyssey-3 replacement.
